He was truly in awe of what he had just seen and felt, that was amazing to watch. I know he didn't get us there and he isn't the first man to travel into space and he is an actor, but he drove that dream starting almost 60 years ago, the dream that someday regular people could go to space. And we owe that gratitude to him and the rest of the Enterprise crew. Star Trek has been bringing that dream to millions of kids (and adults) for decades, and it began with him, and he just lived it. My grandfather worked for NASA during the '60s on the moon landing, and my cousin works for Blue Origin, but there's still something absolutely wonderful and exciting about the fact that Captain Kirk has made it to space. Congratulations Mr. Shatner, I'm glad you're here to live that dream!

@@chrisbova9686 Yes, I love it too, but if William Shatner went to space for real or imagined, he is excited and on a natural high that I hope he can easily recall. Lets be happy for our national treasure that is William Shatner, AKA Captain Kirk. The rate of speed alone of the top portion capsule was reported to be 14 miles per hour although the overall impact seemed to display much more overall velocity momentum. Additionally what kind of good high quality scientific science would allow for a manned craft vehicle to land in any type if abrupt way! The important thing to consider is that the impact would most certainly have injured and or killed any occupants. There is nitrogen gas balloons technologies developed for unmanned probes in order to provide proper good protection for the sensitive power systems and electrical electronic systems. I have watched William Shatner for many years! His overall overly dramatic acting style is actually quite unique hysterical and predictable.

Repent to Jesus Christ!! “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬
@TexanIndependence
@TexanIndependence 2 года назад
@@jesusislord6545 Amen. There are a trillion stars and planets, yet only one known to allow life, and life as fragile as ours where if the earth spins a tiny bit off it's axis, all life ends. It all started with a Big Bang ("Let there be Light!") as opposed to the atheists hoping for the now disproven steady state theory which atheists hoped would mean the universe always existed (and thus had no creator), instead the Big Bang is proven that the Universe itself was born in a "bang" and will die (the universe is going extinct). What's even more awe-inspiring to contemplate is that most of the stars we see in the sky are already GONE, we are seeing billions of years in the past, those stars do not exist, and the closest galaxy to ours is disappearing and travelling so fast away from ours that even if we manage to travel at near-speed-of-light-levels it will be impossible to reach the nearest galaxy even in 1,000 years (and ours has no other hospitable planets). Basically the entire universe is just a mirage that will disappear over time that was created in one instant in a big bang. One athiest scientist I know became a christian shortly after steady state was disproven by big bang theory, because to him, if the universe didn't always exist, and suddenly appeared in a BANG, then there must be a creator. He had hoped the universe always existed and was shocked when fellow atheist scientists suddenly agreed it was big bang theory but didn't understand that this proves a creator. He didn't become a Christian though till he had a spiritual experience many years later, but he had to give up on atheism because of it. But I don't expect anyone to read this and realize the logic. I myself was an believer in evolution/atheist (though I did do buddhist meditations without belief in any "god") and I was honestly a mocking bully to Christians until I had a Road to Damascus experience myself when I agreed to let a Christian pray for me (despite not believing myself, it was kind of a "well it can't hurt" sort of thing), after that experience totally transformed me from an angry, hateful rebel into a loving, peaceful guy it shocked many people around me (to see me go a full 180 degrees from hater to follower of Christ), I had christians who tried to convert me using logic but that never worked only backfired as I didn't care because I didn't want to follow a religion that promoted the weak over the strong and which taught me to turn the cheek and forgive rather than get revenge as I'd prefer revenge or to do the things I want. But in the end, the truth was revealed to me, not because I deserve it at all. I don't. God really will save whom He'll save. I hope whoever reads this is saved too. As Shatner says, it is death. blackness. utter darkness. Seek the light. Seek God. Seek and you shall find. I was saved the moment I agreed and grabbed the hand of a believer in prayer (literally in that moment sparked a Road to Damascus experience) despite the fact I didn't believe in the Christian God (I had literally just done a buddhist meditation minutes before and deep down refused to believe in a God that would condemn non-believers like all of my friends were). Don't believe me? Find someone filled with God's spirit and earnestly reach out to them for prayer over you. Read the New Testament (won't take you more than a few hours!). Find out for yourself! Life is too short NOT to seek the truth.

I remember as child the early days of Space Flight, and the early days of Star Trek. Why I think this flight will be memorable for so many reasons, is this is the first time AN ACCOMPLISHED ARTIST (actors being artists) has flown in space, and Shatner has been able to describe it, to enunciate it, to paint a vivid description of it with words, gestures, and emotions, like no-one has ever done before, like no test pilot, no engineer, no scientist, no entrepreneur has ever done.......... and as a pioneering event, this really reminded me, in a different way, in an artisan's way, of the early days of the Mercury Flights !

Shatner, to me, seemed humble beyond his own, plus Spock’s pointy ears… He stood there, next to that cheering crowd, ‘with his hat in his hand’, recognizing where at, or is it on(?), he has spent nearly 100 years of his life; almost kinda intimidated by his own comprehension of the impact it would/will have on any living thing on Earth, if mankind didn’t manage to take better care of its habitat! Shatner is right when he said to Bezos, that everybody should be experiencing this once in their lives… …and in MY opinion, first of all, those people who “run” this planet… However, they, too, would probably need to be in their 80’s or 90’s in order to both fully care for and understand what’s going on… 🤭😲
