Hi Steve, I watch your channel a lot. This is a cheap-looking homage & I have several homages in my collection which are champagne watches at lemonade prices, keep up the reviews all the the best from the UK.
This watch looks to be the most similar to the original sea master 007. I really appreciate having the option without the date just to take it as accurate as possible. The warmth of the titanium on the original looks different but that could all be due to lighting seeing how the titanium is the same grade on the WD. I have ordered this one since so we will see
It's definitely improved over the Heimdallr. Wish the hands were even more brushed. Tho it looks nice, the modern crystal makes it seem thicker. A box crystal wouldn't increase the height, but would make the midcase and bezel lower.
Thanks for the review! I think WatchDives are really stepping up their game and this watch is the proof of this. Since I’m a Bond movies’ fan, I’ve been ogling at the Omega original and I have not yet been able to figure out its color. Is it black or brown? Anyway, this homage certainly hit the spot with that color changing bezel. In my opinion, the only thing it’s missing is a more domed glass (double domed..?) but I guess that would seriously affect the price.
The original is Ultra dark brown. As for the crystal, I was thinking the same thing, but the Heimdallr changed my mind...it wasn't a good viewing experience. I'll take this crystal over that one any day...and I typically live box domed crystals.
Hey! Watchdives released a Daytona homage and it seems to be better than the Pagani ones! It's name is WD16500 and I'm looking forward to your review on it!
Great review and great channel. Nice to see you got an example of this watch with an aligned bezel insert. There are some examples where the insert pip is aligned with the 12 marker but not with the external bezel cutouts. A huge fail but it seems watchdives have picked up on this and returned units to factory for realignment. I’ve just ordered this based on your review and hope that my unit has no QC issues. Purchased from the Diver Watch factory store on AliX. Will have to wait and see when it arrives.
Uh oh. Hope it comes aligned as well...but the way I see it, is they get stock from WD to sell off....if they sent early stock to the Ali store you may be playing with the gods.
I have this watch, got it on sale. Its very light. Trust me, photos and video don't do it justice. It is a very good looking watch and is built well. Has great lume. I did not like how the bracelet was shiny steel, it did not match the watch too well. I went ahead and purchased the Titanium US1450 Bracelet (Omega Seamaster No Time to Die) from Uncle Straps. It wasnt cheap, but it made this watch 200% better. Everything fit great without modification. The titanium bracelet isnt shiny, its somewhat subdued like the titanium case. I have about 12 micro-brand watches (addiesdive, steeldive, san martin, steinhart) and this is my favorite by far.
I got the Pagani Design version of this years ago and wish I would have waited for something better like this. The Pagani looks nice but is missing many of the finer aesthetics.
I bought the white dial version of this watch which I can confirm has better lume, although I wish the hands were slightly thicker to provide more room for lume. The dial is a snow white and the wave pattern is well done. The case shape is well executed. The bezel doesn’t sound or feel great but I find it okay to rotate given the low bezel grip. The sharp edge on the case back doesn’t bother me at all but I find the crown a bit sharp or rough to the touch. I have been wearing this watch for the last 2 weeks and really enjoy the look of it. Glad I bought it
I never was a huge fan of this style, but I’m starting to change my mind, and I really like the white dial. And as a Date Only guy, I appreciate the 6 o’clock date. With all that said, I’m going to tried my best not to buy a dive watch this year. Wish me luck…Thanks for the great review as always.
Got my white dial version today, and I absolutely love it. There are, however, two downsides, which do not bother me too much by now: the hands are slightly twisted sideways when you look closely, and it has some sharp edges on the bezel and the back. These aren't noticable on the wrist at all, as mentioned in the video, I can completely agree. It feels and looks so good on the wrist with it's titanium weight and despite 42mm in diameter. Even on my 6.5 inch wrist. And the mesh bracelet fits on my small wrist, too, which is the first time ever for me to experience. Absolutely recommended if you like the sm300 style. 👍
Octopus Kracken have all the colours with all the “high” specs, the dial hands on the Octopus are superb with great lume everywhere, I changed the metal strap to a high end silicone rubber and wear mine every day, I am glad I paid extra after doing the comparison
Steve, would be great to get your hands on the updated and upgraded WD007 in this same “brown” colour to do an updated review and see what the improvements are like with the bezel colour and bezel action. I Hope Watchdives can send you a sample for review
Probably my favorite NTTD homage yet, but still not a homerun. The dial should be textured and the bezel insert matted. The shape of the case is also missing some curving down the sides. (On a side note, the V2 Heimdallr case now has external threads)
Received mine today. Absolute stunning watch. everything perfect aligned. even the „watch dives“ logo on the crown stands upwards when its closed😅 only thing is the sharp edges on the bezel and bottom
Great review as always man. I've heard rumors that they plan to release a smaller version of this. Is that something you've heard? I've got a 6.5-inch wrist, so I think this version would be a tad bit large for me.
They are working on a 39mm STEEL version...it won't be titanium. Also not sure on color ways...so if you are going for a titanium NTTD this may be your only option
Might pick this up to replace my Pagani version of this watch Ive had for a couple years. This design is wayyy closer to the target, although, the Pagani version is nice for what it is.
@@jawsmod I don't see why it won't last. I guess the biggest fail point would be the bezel getting stuck. But water resistance, movement, materials, they are all quality parts.
I have the Steeldive version of this watch. Really, really pleased with it, and it doesn't have the "helium escape" crown, which is a bonus. The lume is a lot better than this one as well. Great review as always.
Hello and thank you for this nice presentation of the WD 007. I received mine yesterday and I am already somewhat disappointed....Indeed, the little "lum" insert which was in the triangle on the bezel at 12 o'clock has already disappeared.... The bezel itself is almost impossible to rotate without violent effort! ! ! In addition, the precision is really not there with a delay of 20 seconds per 12 hours! ! ! The Milanese-style steel bracelet is not too bad but its clasp is very hard to open and less comfortable than that of the Heimdall'r. On the other hand, its security system is very practical because it allows you to maintain the setting each time you remove the watch. (unlike that of my first Heimdall'r which I have also had for 6 months and which comes off each time) The second one which I had received just before the WD 007 went directly to its seller (Ali express) since the bezel was completely blocked! To compare, I prefer the dial of the WD 007 whose color of the "brown" indexes is identical to that of the bezel and is much closer to the original model.... That of the Heimdall'r is rather vanilla yellow and is not in harmony with that of its bezel. Regarding the LUM, I rank the two equally with a rather short duration and difficult to see at the end of the night. I will still keep this watch because I find it pretty enough to wear from time to time. (Especially since it only cost me €152)
I bought this piece and gave a review on the reddit forum. I like this review Escape, but i think you are to nice with the "sharp" edges etc. The watch is really sharp to be honest. Like i said before, i think this watch is worth around 50-60 $ to be honest. Bezel is super tight and hard to turn, also its sharp. My recommendation is NOT to buy this piece, save up some $ and buy a more expansive piece from SM.
@@iron883cd i think that this watch is worth 60 bucks, i dont know if you can buy watches (titanium) for 60 or less, maybe this can be the first then ;)
Maybe in the future. I still think NH35 is king of budget movements. According to my contacts, people still want automatics more than quartz....even if the quartz is a good one.
All watches are fashion watches. Nobody is wearing a real NTTD in 2024 because it was the right watch for their job as a commercial diver. They wear it because they like it.
It's an Omega homage. Great except people will think it's an Omega, so a bar conversation may turn a bit sour... Could be worn times and places where an actual Omega would not me a wise choice of watch to wear.
How many times have you struck up a conversation at a bar over your watch? Regardless, it's easy. Just say it's a homage of the omega. If they appear disappointed and withdraw, no big deal. If they are still interested then conversate away. If they actually deride you for wearing such a watch then they are not a person worth socialising with.
