What weight is on the trailer? I plan on hauling 5 to 6 yards of dry clay on one of these soon using either my F250 or 3500HD dually if I can get the trailer derated for the Dually.
Spray that bottom of the trailer with a little diesel and that dirt will slide out a whole lot easier boss. I get why you did the video and it's a good trailer for sure, I wouldn't make a habit of it bc I would be more concerned with bending an axle than anything else or breaking one. Then ur gonna have a bad day.
It’s not the trailer or even the hydraulics that are the concern when you overload a dump trailer. It’s the axels, the tires and the brakes. It’s dangerous and, hence, illegal. Axels break, tires fail and truck & trailers can’t stop. Many accidents occur when towing loads greater than the GVWR of the trailer. People die. Check the states with DOT. And if it happens and you are pulling the overloaded trailer, your insurance company will not protect you and the opposing lawyer will have a field day on you…as he should. Do this at your own risk. Good luck.
I know that the trailer was overloaded. Believe it or not, it stopped the load just fine.I paid for 5 tons of GAB and they loaded much more…. I’m aware of the ratings on the trailer and the truck. …. You do much work by any chance ? Sometimes you get overloaded.
Trailers are rated under 10,000 lbs not cause they can’t handle extra weight but the truck can’t stop that kind of weight and dot will gladly ticket you. You can pull that trailer with a ford ranger but you don’t cause it’s not safe
First of all, the trailer is rated for 14k. Secondly the ram 2500 is absolutely capable of stopping this trailer even when overloaded. I wouldn’t advise making it a habit but, the point of this video is to show that the equipment is well suited to operate under the load that it is rated to.
@@lewisindustriesgroupllc9679 it's a 14k trailer. That's 14k gross, trailer weighs 4k, load can be 10k to be "legal." If you haul on highways and it's clear you've overloaded it's an expensive lesson.
@@ihopetheyhaveicees they give out tickets for people who speed. 20 over can send you to jail but that doesn’t stop people from speeding does it? Now stfu
