JLC flexed even themselves out of the show. All other watches look pedestrian next to the caliber 185. I hope one of the ten is put in a museum so mortals like me can hear the minute repeater.

Made my head explode keeping up with this video. And I'm only 10 minutes into it. LOL I like Grand Seiko. But after watching this and just starting to work on movements , now I know why I always gravitated towards these brands at the stores. A whole level above Rolex and Grand Seiko. Hoping you show some Breguet's in the next 20 minutes of this. They deserve to be in this video.

This offering made for a great post evening meal optical dessert.Despite all the efforts made It is pretty much more of the same from these heavy hitters. Only the JLC Reverso pushed some credible boundaries in the department of crammage à la elegance.The Bulgari Octo finissimo left a lot to be desired on the dial side. Maybe a Grand Feu Dial would have been the way to go especially at the asking prices for each piece.

A superb roundup! Unmatched detail and analysis. When I first saw the VC Platine Chrono, I got my hopes up they might make it in steel! Maybe one of the most perfect designs ever? But surely smaller and hand-wind would be better. As for the JLC Hybris - extraordinary. Not sure how relevant it is, but as the ultimate horological smack-down, it succeeds admirably. Perhaps it indicates a renewed focus on high horology by JLC. Bit underwhelmed by predictable Patek. I struggle to warm to their designs, especially when they move to white metal/blue from their perfect gold/cream.

The Vacheron Constantin monopusher rattrapante at 300k is very tempting but far too expensive. That is, until you think of Richard Mille. This VC is much better value for money than any Richard Mille. The ultracomplicated Reverso is simply a halo watch. It's there to show who is the boss. The watchmakers' watchmaker strikes again!

Wasn’t there a platinum version of the first Bulgari Octo Finissimo in manual wind Tourbillon form from a few years back...the very first Octo Finissimo.

The PP looks stunning. I prefer the silver ALS over the blue/ gold. This blue gold looks too much like normal fashion watches. Great video.

Please explain the coupling between the front and back halves of the JLC Quad? I've got an idea how it might work with a concentric shaft inside the case pivot and a differential coupling in the top or bottom section to compensate for rotating the case without affecting the drive. I'd love to know the details though if it's possible to find out.

A shaft extension plugs into the case at midnight and winds the case. Did you want to know how JLC timed it?
