I got crossfire for Christmas one year and my little brother swallowed most of the balls as soon as he got the chance. I couldn't play that thing for like a week. My mom was a good lady for getting those back for me.

That Jaguar commercial you thought they were teaching math, was Atari's answer to N64. Genesis was 32bits...N64 was 64bit

Genesis was a 16-bit console - the 32X add-on simulated a 32-bit system. In actuality, the Atari Jaguar wasn't actually a true 64-bit system, as claimed in the commercial. The N64 was the first genuine 64-bit console. Also, this commercial predates the N64 by nearly 3 years. It wasn't their answer to the N64. It was them saying the Jaguar (which they advertise as being 64-bit) is better than the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis (which were both 16-bit) and the 3DO (which was 32-bit). "Do the math" was the simplification of "higher number of bits means that we're better, so you should be buying our shit", which most gamers saw right through although that sort of simplification worked in the past when Sega did it with the Genesis.

16:40 there were a series of kidnappings at these places in LV, NV, they attempted to implement a security system, "wrist bands" from the kid and parent that would have to be scanned and match before the doors would unlock, but the kidnappers would just wait until they unlocked the door for someone else and then, leave. there was no actual manned security. idk if this is why they shut down, but i know thats why they were shut down in Las Vegas.

I was born in 91'. I remember the disneyland commercial (it was included in the VHS tape of Lion King). Don't remember the rest of these very much though. (My mom hardly let me watch television).

16:36 38 year old father of two, here. Yes, Jomboy, they all died. Just in the last decade some DZ-like places have started to open, and I dare say the DZ-inspired gyms nearly began a golden age...and then COVID. I've seen a lot close in the last year, but many survived. I think they're figuring out how to do it with today's restrictions.

Yes, in the early 2000's, Discovery Zone pretty much died and was bought out by Chuck E Cheese. Are we…not going to talk about how that was Jeff Goldblum in the iMac commercial? Also the math thing was to advertise the Atari Jaguar, the supposedly first 64 bit console. The Sega Genesis was the first 16 but console, beating the NES, an 8 bit console. This started the bit wars where companies tried to make console with bigger bits (bits being something to do with the graphic processor). Atari was basically saying do the math, 64 is greater than 16 and 32 (competing consoles bits at the time) so our console is better. Their console was not better

So my college newspaper didn’t get iMac’s until I left after 2001. The journalism building got a iMac computer lab before the award winning college newspaper got a single one & we slaved over old Macintosh computers that took 10-20 minutes to print 1 page of the paper.

For the Jaguar it was for a failed new console. They were saying it was more powerful, it could do 64bit when at the time new N64 from Nintendo just launched and PS1 was 32bit.

The jaguar commercial was saying that while everyone else like Nintendo and sega where 16 bit Jaguar was “64” bit. So do the “math” 16 or 64. I remember that commercial, not surprised you guys don’t it wasn’t a big hit. Atari’s last attempt of trying to stay in the game.
