Anastacia is one of the unsung Divas of Pop. She’s not acknowledged in her native US. Much of her former Europe fan base has forgotten her. She’s lucky to be alive and is still serving tone and power
Perfect choices!!! Love all of them! And it contains a few beautiful ballads as well! Please check out I Belong To You (with Eros Ramazzotti) as well! Such a beautiful song!
Wow I love that you’ve done this. Anastacia was my adolescence! She’s an unbothered Diva who’s given us so many power anthems!! If you’re going to watch live versions of her songs, one of the most iconic and important is Anastacia singing heavy on my heart with Bebe Winans after recovering from cancer. She’s wearing a very distinctive pink jacket in the thumbnail. It’s a lifetime special
"Pieces of a Dream" is my favorite Anastacia song, it's so touching... Hopefully you'll react to it in a part 2 :) Anastacia is a fighter like Kylie, she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when she was 13, breast cancer at the age of 34, and supraventricular tachycardia aged 39. In 2013, aged 45, Anastacia was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. Love that woman
Interesting to observe that you've liked her two 2000s hits I'm Outta Love and One Day In Your Life the most, which were also meant for her American breakthrough. Sick and Tired was released as a second single after Left Outside Alone in Europe and it was also a hit. Her rockier era with some amazing songs in her album Anastacia. As for Best Days, it is a lovely song that just floats and gives good vibes.
@@popland1977 Thanks. True, You'll Never Be Alone is a true classical ballad. However, Anastacia does have some nice rocky ballads like Heavy On My Heard and Welcome To My Truth. A mid-tempo Pieces Of A Dream, too. She's a great vocalist!
She is just SOOOOO freaking good! And I love how she still is a discovery for so many ppl nowadays. And yes, Best Days just puts a peaceful smile on my face as well... How beautifully she has evolved...
Also, for some more great vocals, pleaer check out Paloma Faith. She's a British Singer with a rather unique but brilliant voice! I'd start with Only Love Can Hurt Like This.
I still remember "discovering" Anastacia on the MTV talent show The Cut (hosted by Left Eye!) in 1998. She sang "Not That Kind" (2 years before it was released). I had it taped on VHS and watched it tons. She somehow didn't win but was clearly the best. I had her first two albums on CD, lots of great songs, but Not That Kind was always my favorite song because I had such a sentimental attachment to it.
Thank you for reacting on more Anastacia songs! You've made some good picks of songs to discover her versatility. As for the video for Best Days, it was filmed in Lisbon, Portugal. Anastacia seems to be giving a treat to her European fans, her major success market, (despite being from the US) with her latest album Our Songs (released a few days ago).
A wonderful talent who has battled health issues and remained strong. She was on the Masked Singer in Australia and as soon as I heard her sing, I knew it was her. She has such a distinctive voice.
What a great reaction! I remember being 13-14 y.o, and watching MTV every morning before school. Anastacia's music videos were all over MTV back then, and I still know every single word to every single of her songs by heart. 😀
A good example of her chameleon-esque ability to change her singing style is Why'd You Lie To Me, another break up anthem that's almost like a sing-song rap with a hilarious and creative video. Also recommend You'll Never Be Alone, absolutely BEAUTIFUL ballad. Live performances, i recommend her and Celine Dions performance of You Shook Me All Night Long at Divas Liv, Las Vegas and finally her and Jamiroquai singing Bad Boys.
Fell in love with everything about her on The Cut and have followed since. Always thought she deserved more attention stateside than she got, so its lovely to see someone else on the journey through her tracks.
Her last Album is a Cover Album of songs from german artists. Like Best days is originally a german Punk Song from Die Toten Hosen. Would be fun seeing you comparing those songs
If you want to see just how good her voice was, there's an amazing acapella version of this on here from around the time the song was released, and her vocals are crazy
She is amazing and was huge over here in the UK. I think she is from Texas. You need to hear her sing this live. Her voice is crazy powerful. She won 'The masked singer' in Australia a couple of years ago. Her character was 'Vampire'. Not sure if its a show you get over there. Basically there's a row of judges that are all famous. Each contestant is also famous but not necessarily a singer. They all wear costumes and the judges have to guess who is inside. Worth you watching all of her performances from it so you can hear how strong her voice is live.
I remember constantly reading how she’s the “ Carmen Electra of Music” which made no sense to me. She looked like her I guess? But Carmen wasn’t the symbol of greatness in entertainment, no less music, as far as I recall lol. 😂😂
i love anastacia she is a power diva and the last song best days is a cover by " die toten hosen an tagen wie diesen" she didet cool and awsome ( sorry for my bad english)
Have seen here live a few times and I absolutely love love love her power and presence on stage - and the little stories and jokes she tells ☺️ Anastacia is just a powerhouse 😊
Anastacia released an album "Our Songs" a few days ago, which is a cover of well-known German hits translated and re-arregend in a different way. Supergirl by Reamonn and Monsoon by Tokio Hotel are also included.
sick and tired and welcome to my truth were my jams back in the day although I grew up in the 90's listening to her early work and she is still stunning and incredibly underrated, it's criminal.
Anastacia never released a house album unfortunately, but she has an awesome dance song with ties to called What Can We Do ( a deeper love). It’s fantastic
Best Days is filmed in Lisbon, Portugal, and to think this was released 23 years after 'I'm outta love', she looks incredible, say her live in October, she is amazing!
She has a stellar live disco duet with JK on here: Jamiroquai - Bad Girls (Live at the 2002 Brit Awards) ft. Anastacia Has anyone put Jamiroquai on your radar yet? Another one that never really had much interest Stateside but huge everywhere else. Funk and Acid Jazz band that will tickle your fancy I think.
i've already seen left outside alone, but went away back and watched it again lol so i could watch this afresh... hope you love it... here goes. click.
I'm Outta Love is def reminiscent of George Michael, the song If I Told You That he did with Whitney Houston. It's that typical late 90s early 00s R&B funk dance pop sound.
