"That's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see how that works out for them" is one of the most quoted lines on the Internet. Pretty much any time somebody does something really stupid.
Because of this movie we got the Ocho is real life. Every Aug 8th (8/8) one of the ESPNs transforms into ESPN 8 and broadcast obscure and ridiculous competitions like Cornhole, Lawnmower Racing and off course the world series of Dodgeball.
Ben Stiller’s character of White Goodman is actually him bringing back a character from a Disney movie he was in called “Heavyweights” which I highly recommend.
Okay, you HAVE to watch Tucker and Dale VS Evil!!!🙏It has the guy who played the pirate in this. Then you have to watch What We Do In The Shadows and Wedding Crashers, Old School, maybe Road Trip, Hall Pass. Oh my freaking gosh.......The Heat!!!!!!
The one BIG stealth joke that everyone misses is the name of Ben Stillers team. The purple cobra’s name had me laughing the second I saw it. Great movie, great reaction.👍👍👍👍👍. The bloopers’r ‘reel’ was pretty good too.
I love this Movie RIP Rip Torn Fun Fact: Gordan is played Stephen Root, who voiced Bill Dautrive from King of The Hill You got to react to Will Ferrell's Anchorman 1 & 2 and Old School
Neat fact ESPN8 airs oddball sports like dodge ball among many others because of the running joke about slow sports days made in the film and the extras in the unrated edition has a fake interview fight where Ben Stiller is fighting other cast members credit to TV Tropes for the facts and I am glad you liked the film I remember seeing it back when I was 9 or 10 years old around when I recorded it on my TV and watch it back in 2009 or 2010 and I loved your reaction good job.
lol, I didn't quite get the ending credit thing with Ben Stiller back in the day till I looked it up. Yeah. Ok. I understand both points of view but either way, I LOVE this movie. So many lines to quote. 👍
Jason Bateman and Gary Cole absolutely steal this movie from Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. It's pretty damn funny all the way until the tournament starts. Cottons into to the tournament cracks me up every damn time and it's just incredible from then on.
I've watched this so many times haha. Good stuff Mellow. I gotta say I think my favorite part of any of your reactions goes like this: Mellow makes a joke about the scene *pause* Mellow cracks himself up laughing at his own joke, haha 😂 If you're looking for another Stiller comedy (with Vince Vaughn at that), there's 'The Watch'. It may be funnier in my memory though cause it got crap reviews lol
I like all these reaction channels. It’s just crazy though a lot of these movies I grew up with, saw in the theaters, etc and a lot of older movies like Scorsese, Friedkin, Kubrick, I watched as a kid also so it’s crazy that some people haven’t seen alot of classic movies. The downside is that I’m way behind on newer shows and movies because I do deep-dives into older films and foreign films. I remember in 2003, I was 13 at summer camp and we had a TV in our bunk. That summer alone, I saw Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, The Big Lebowski, American History X, Requiem For A Dream, Pi, Menace II Society all for the first time
For the life of me, I cannot remember this film. I feel like I've seen it, but may have been 'the worse for drink' as was often the case in those days.
Christine Taylor plays the female lead in this. You're thinking of Maureen McCormick who played Marcia Brady. I can see the resemblance, though. Edit - Huh I guess she actually did play Marcia in the reboot movies lol. Point back to you.
The skinny one that dated the Romanian went to school in my hometown, Ashland Oregon. I probably saw him around, vice versa. Small town and I walked around a lot, and I was a long haired Indian punk. Didn't like this movie all that much, I can see what they were going for, but I just don't think they hit their mark.
If you've never seen it, you should check out the movie Heavyweights..its another Ben Stiller classic role where he has a similar character personality. Also, you need to check out Baseketball...The creators of South Park made the movie and its f'n hilarious!!
This movie were ESPN8 The OCHO came from. Every now and then they mention The Ocho on Sports Center.. The director had an idea that movie would end on Peter called out after being hit the ball. It was mentioned on the DVD that he showed the film to the studio and they said hell no!!! You go back and give that movie a happy ending. I don't know if was joke or it was true.
The dumbest thing of all, is Ben Stiller winning a Razzie for worst actor. His acting was one of the best and funniest parts of the film. Plus its obvious it was done this way on purpose. Some peoples children...
so ben stiller hated that the studio forced him to reshoot the ending. the theatrical ending wasnt what was intended. average joes was supposed to lose and thats why he put himself in the end in the fat suit talking about what audiences can handle. why it almost ruined his marriage is because he was fighting the studio to let him make the movie his way: realistic. the big guys win all the time. white even says he gets into the tournament because he knows somebody that runs it. so the happy ending was a forced reshoot he absolutely loathed. they were supposed to lose and move on with their lives and end up happier for having let go of something they couldnt hold on to. it was supposed to show them growing. and peter was not supposed to get the girl, the bisexual thing was also a studio choice. he was supposed to not get the girl, stiller was trying to make a movie that subverted tropes and though the jokes are great i think the movie itself would have been better if that had been allowed.
I actually don't know how old you are but its wild to me that Lori Beth Dinberg(the uh "larger" cheerleader, in the beginning) was like old news by this point, I remember being surprised seeing her in anything. And now this movie is like old news. (Clarification: When I say old news just like, not talked about as much, not really in the "scene" anymore. Not like they sucked or are forgotten.)
She was in the Brady Bunch movie and she was Ben Stiller's Wife for like 20 years until the divorced a few years ago. Ben Stiller plays the basic same insane fitness guy in the movie Heavyweights, you should watch that one too. It is really funny and has a young Keenan Thompson.
**inserting my own name of course** I use "Keithy needs new shorts!" AT LEAST 3-4 times a week! I work as a heavy equipment operator for a site development company so... If I scratch out for a manhole and the laborer gets a perfect reading on the laser without hand work "KEITHY NEEDS NEW SHORTS!" If a truck load of crushed stone shows up early "KEITHY NEEDS NEW SHORTS!" Find out Monday morning the Developers are off site for the week "KEITHY NEEDS NEW SHORTS!" ... and so on and so forth hahaha
PS: Pepper Brooks is great but I actually think I quote Jason Bateman's character from Smokin' Aces even more!! "I'm just a f*****g dog-pile of piss-poor physique on top of a small c**k and hereditary alcoholism... Thanks, God... appreciate it."
