The guy who plays tj (Micheal) was also on Seaquest with his other brother(Peter) . And all 3 are the sons of Dom deluise, who was a famous comedian and also did one of the voices in all dogs go to heaven.
This episode is one of the best examples of why I love Luke and Lorelei. The chemistry was always there and they genuinely loved being with each other. But the true relationship of the show is Jess and Luke. From the moment he showed up until a year in the life, they both have grown together so much. I love it.
Yeah, the thing I loved most about this episode was Jess finally giving Luke the recognition of him being there for Jess. But Luke and Lorelei was a very close second lol
I was never team anyone during the original series. I didn’t like Rory with any of them. But after a year in the life I became team Jess. I like how his character turned out
Fun fact the woman talking to Patti at the beginning of the episode is Scott Patterson’s (Luke’s) wife (before they were married (I do believe they weren’t married yet)
Exactly. Context matters lol Right before Jess showed up, Dean was implying that he can “do what he wants even while he’s married.” He was being the “Dependable Dean boyfriend” and not the, “I’m Married Dean, and we’ll take this food to-go because Lindsey is expecting me back after dropping you off and actually, let me call her to see if she wants something, ” husband that he was supposed to be. Dean’s been setting up his “Get Rory,” arc for a minute now.
@@jenbialek I’m saying that rather than Dean being a good husband with boundaries - he was sneaking around and leading Rory on. By the time Rory sleeps with him she was yelling at Lorelai about his marriage being over and how that’s her Dean. 👀 Why? He was bad mouthing Lindsey and proving to Rory he could still be in her Yale life. 🙊
One of the things that really bothers me is how terrible Liz is to her son, Jess, etc but then when she actually shows up in the show, they paint her as a real nice lady
I agree. I never understood why they painted her in a bad light by all these stories where she was a terrible mother and then they introduce her as a normal woman/mum. I was hoping she’d be some kind of dead beat crackhead who starts to come to her senses in 1 season when she moves to Stars Hollow!
@@filmlife1000 you seemed to miss the fact that she's nice but she's always put men over her son all these years. She admits it but they expect Jess to just get over it
I think that might be the point. Nice person =\= good parent. And furthermore, someone can have a kid young and be a totally different parent to that kid than one they have later in life.
You should watch s2 e18 back in the saddle again! I am currently rewatching GG with my boyfriend and every episode I’m like “I have to tell Tag to watch this it’s sooooo good!” lol fr though I would watch you watch the whole series from start to finish.
The 'dad from Wizards of Waverly place' is David Deluise, real life brother of Michael Deluise who plays TJ. Both also appear in the tv series Stargate SG-1 as does their brother, Peter Deluise, who was also an actor, writer director and producer of the show. David and Michael don't play brothers on the show though, like they do on Gilmore, and as far as I remember, they don't share screen time together at any point. Michael and Peter Deluise do however share screen time together I think, they definitely at least appear in the same episode. I have no idea if you or anyone else cares about this but Gilmore and Stargate were both hyperfixations of mine at various points so might as well share the knowledge. 🤷♂️
As an aside, Luke (his actor) delivers some of the best lines in the series & the 4 part sequel, when it comes to devotion, loyalty, & love. He has a way of narrowing the focus to that moment, and you just get the sense of how solid & intentional Luke is. That scene with Jess is one of those moments.
There's a lot of honesty in this episode. It's comforting. It's also one of the few episodes where Rory seems most like her original teen self (a la Season 1 before they nerfed her from 90s independent teen to 2000s conformist) because she actually expresses herself freely instead of people pleasing, being evasive, or apologizing for speaking freely.
Fun fact the woman talking to Patti at the beginning of the episode is Scott Patterson’s (Luke’s) wife (before they were married (I don’t believe they were married yet)
I love that you hate Christopher 😂 Please hate him more reacting to “Christopher Returns” - S1E15 Also I think it’s time you met Rune. S1E12- “double date” And fans have a lot of opinions on “That damn Donna reed” S1E14.
@notthemovie That's funny you know the song but haven't seen the movie. I like the first and third movie, but the only part of the second movie that I like is this song.
Hi, I've never commented before (I don't comment anywhere) but I really really reeeeeeeeeeeally think you should watch S5 E18 · To Live and Let Diorama. It's my comfort episode. Watching this episode is the equivalent of being swallowed by an alpaca fur bean bag chair
the network brought dean back on because Supernatural was about to air on the CW. It really fucked with the story in mine and many other fans' opinions :/
I haven't watched the show in forever, but it definitely hits differently as an adult looking back on it. Most of the characters could certainly benefit from therapy.
GG now makes me sad. Lorelai is annoying even if I admire her independence and strength. And seeing Rory at Yale makes me miss Uni as crazy but sad when I think about the revival and how she ends up.
I love how much you hate Jess😂 He IS the worst. (That's my unnuanced take. My thoughts on Jess are actually much more complex. But I don't like him) ...also, season 5 ep 8, The Party's Over. That is one of my favorite Rory/Dean episodes
I don't like him either. It always makes me crazy when Jess fans go on about how he convinced her to go back to Yale after she quit. They conveniently forget that a couple of years earlier Mr. Wonderful was trying to get her to quit Yale and run off with him to work in New York. Yeah, he really understands her, lol.
@@LB-gz3ke THIS!!!! I thought that was so hypocritical of Jess. What gave him the right to judge ANYTHING she was doing? Just because he wrote a book? Man...go on somewhere, Jess
@T.A.G Okay, so made the list, it took a little time. Here are my recs in order (the first three belong together). I'd love to see you react to one or some or all of them. FOR THE EMOTIONS Say Something - season 5 episode 14 So...Good Talk - season 5 episode 16 Pulp Friction - season 5 episode 17 Super Cool Party People - season 6 episode 20 You've Been Gilmored - season 6 episode 14 Bridesmaids Revisited - season 6 episode 16 I Am Kayak, Hear Me Roar - season 7 episode 15 Let Me Hear Your Balalaikas Ringing Out - season 6 episode 8 The Real Paul Anka - season 6 episode 18 FOR THE FUN It should have been Lorelai - season 2 episode 14 Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days - season 3 episode 1
Great episode. I love the waltz with L&L. And YOU SANG HSM 2 OVER THE BEST SONG OF THE SERIES 😂 Love your vids. I’m going to be sad when you’re done with Gilmore Girls.
19:13 He's definitely taking a swing Also speaking of swing, it's always bothered me that they don’t dance- they're just like barely moving and I guess it's supposed to be romantic or whatever but girl I want that 123,123 waltz The couple on the left are outdoing them 10 to 1 it’s like Ryan v Troy in High School Musical 2. Even Liz and TJ are at least having fun with it, not just smooshing their bodies together and moving their feet in a random pattern. Well, I still have this song on my playlist. Actually, re-watching it, I think that this is pretty high up there on my favourite episodes. Until the boys at the end. Stupid boys.
