Y’all need to do all four movies and make serious fun of III and IV. I really want to know from a shark scientist if a shark would chase a family to the Bahamas. I need to hear the answer to this puzzling question from a true expert. 😎

Yes you're absolutely right, one did get stuck in that pond - although I do believe that is a pretty rare event! Sadly though I think shark scientist Greg Skomal said the shark died eventually as they were trying to get it back out to deeper water after a few days. Pond's evidently a stressful place for whites!

@@SHARKBYTES --- couple of years back I believe there was a shark sighting in a shallow river in Maine which had never happened before. Could have been just after Hurricane Sandy. Maybe the hurricane drove the shark inland or it confused the overflowing river for a normal waterway? Not sure.

Pippin. The dog`s name. The writer, screenwriter must be a J.R.R. Tolkien fan, naming the dog Pippin, the nutty, young Hobbit in The Lord of the Rings.

@@gib59er56 Hi G, was never sure of the dog's name myself, seen the movie countless times but not certain what name the guy at the beach was calling. Pip.. something ! I only found out, for certain, through that Daily Jaws vid. Wonder where the stick eventually washed up ?

If you want to take Jaws 2 into account, it's possible that there were two sharks in the area that were attacking people. One shark would come in, attack someone, and swim away for a while. The other shark would come in, attack someone else, and swim away. Rinse and repeat.

A possible lost megaladon species praps? Thts my theory anyway!

pretty damn good. They'd kick away from that in a hurry, and why go after struggling prey when there was actual dead meat that required no effort?

I think that the shark killed the other, younger fisherman who was with Ben Gardner. The shark either injured him or he had a heart attack (he seemed elderly in the film) and died. The hole maybe was a result of Bruce ramming into the wood.

Yeah, I agree. I just never understood how the body, or head of Ben Gardiner was inside the hull of the boat. It made no sense. Your statement made me feel that I might have been on the right track, in thinking a situation that you describe, is the same one I came to believe so many years later, because at first I did not get it. Why, or how is he inside the hull? So, we have kinda found the same conclusion, after thinking on it for years. Sorry for chewing your ear off. LOL, no pun intended.

That's thre worst aspect if these films, indirectly caused thre death of millions of sharks and a misunderstanding of them. Around 10 deaths a year from shark encounters hardly warrants them as a threat to man

Kristian has discussed sharks predating on humans on his channel if you're interested. It does happen, but I believe in cases of this, the shark is generally very desperate.

The real shark was not attacking it. It swam up over the cage to go after a piece of bait and got entangled in the ropes that tied the cage to the boat, panicked, and thrashed about like crazy trying to free itself. The other shot with the shark thrashing its head from side to side- it's hard to see exactly what it's attacking there. May be a bait, may be a bait tied to the miniature cage, or could be a second angle of the shark trying to free itself. The final shot is just a great white giving a test bite to the miniature cage which is likely the result of the metal of the cage interacting with the salt water triggering electrical signals. The shark is just being curious. So no, the shark expert isn't wrong about this, sorry

@@TheAerovons its not a silly comparison, like yeah proportionally there's more but i was more asking to see whether you just have a vendetta against sharks or if its any dangerous animal at all and evidently its the second. animals cant be evil. humans are not the most important things on the planet. yes its awful and horrible when people die but we "apologise" for animals because they havent done anything wrong, and otherwise culling happens or the animals are hunted down which is also bad. its simply not productive for anyone to villainise an animal for simply being an animal
