Presumably, Helena was leaving to go find the tow truck driver she met in the bar, Jessie. That's why she was holding that hat. And the tank of liquid nitrogen that she left was her eggs that had been taken from her by the fish people. It says a hell of a lot that Helena was willing to trust Sarah and the others with that tank. It's not too surprising that Helena was able to sneak out. I don't think Alison stayed the night, Sarah and Felix likely passed the hell out after the last couple of days that they had, and it sure seems that had Kira not been there Cosima would have slipped away in her sleep. As far as looking for her goes, they don't really have a way to do that. She has spent most of her life disappearing and they'd have no idea of where she might be going.
Just FYI, in the dance sequence, every time Felix walks off and back on screen they have composited another layer of Tatiana in. Being that it is a scene where there are 4 clones whose faces can be seen, there are 4 layers of Tatiana and Katherine Alexandre (her acting double) (and I believe they brought in two other acting doubles) , starting I think with Sarah, and ending with Helena. The scene took several days to film. It may have already been mention in comments to a previous episode, but they very specifically called Katharine Alexandre an acting double, not a body double, because she was learning all of Maslany's lines and performing opposite her as one clone, then they would switch places and redo the scene until Maslany had performed all the different clone parts in a scene, then in post, they erase Alexandre, and composite in Maslany's performance, unless they were touching each other. Any scene where there are two clones touching each other, one is Tatiana, and the other is Katherine, with Tatiana's face overlayed on her. You can tell which clone is Katherine because her hands are visibly smaller than Tatiana's.
Opening scene with Sarah answering all those questions at Dyad - while filming they actually had Tatiana Maslany choose her own answers for Sarah’s character! Love your reactions, and how deeply you feel for the show❤
I think because of her upbring the other clones and clone club members see Helena as the baby sister, the way Felix questions her is just an example of this.
Seeing how emotional you were bless you! Also, yes Marion is talking about Mrs S when she says mother. Helena is carrying Jesse's hat so it's assumed she went to see him? I think the others didn't notice or are used to Helena coming and going tbh (that's the impression I was left with). Best finale tbh
I get really attached to characters when I have enough time with them and it was an emotional week. 🤣🤣🤣 Everyone is saying the same thing about Jessie's hat and Helena and I see what you guys are saying I guess I just would have been super worried still lol.
by end of season 2 they re used to watching helena come and go as she pleases because that s simply part of her personality(but also the fact she doesn't exactly know how to fit in yet with everybody else, besides Sarah and Kira, but she does trust them already enough to leave the eggs with them) so nobody wondered because that s just what she does, and since she can hold her own in a fight just fine they simply assumed she was ok.
Told you the finale would deliver! And that there was more to Mark and Grace than met the eye! Yup, he's a clone too! 🤯 Your utter confusion at the end there was fully justified! (And quite entertaining!) ☺ How about that clone dance scene! _Four_ Tatianas and one Jordan! The amount of work they spent to make something that looks so ordinary until you stop to think about it was amazing! Though it _was_ hard to stop and think, since things were pretty emotional at that point! Might almost be worth a rewatch, just so you can be properly awed! Aside: if you get some time, you should check out some of Maria Doyle Kennedy's music videos. Not my usual cup of tea, but she's very good! As you might expect from her also being Mrs. S. 😉
Oh it definitely delivered! My brain broke when I found out Mark was a clone too! Ya the scenes with multiple clones are always wild to try to comprehend! Let alone more than 2! Such a fun scene. I need to remember to check her out!! She's amazing! 😍
The introduction of little Charlotte is one of my favorite reveals in a piece of media. And I generally don’t like child characters. She simply existing raised so many questions. We saw the little girl (Cynthia) as little Rachel in flashback child tapes (so we knew what the other Leda’s looked like to some variation at that age) but then BAM we’re hit with this little girl, who’s the same age as Rachel was in those tapes. And she’s so young, which means they were able to create another human clone, which means a clone was created in 2005 and NO ONE knew. Even with the internet and public access to scientific journals NO ONE KNEW. But HOW was she created without the original? Her leg is clearly malformed, does that have to do with the cloning process? Is she closer to the health issues we’ve seen in cloned mammals before in real life? Did they take an already existing clone and make ANOTHER clone from her? Plus she’s just an interesting character in general. The audiobook series sees her at almost 18 and it’s crazy how similar AND uniquely distinct she is as a Leda. She’s very much an other amongst the clones, because of her age, but also her being a “copy of a copy” which weighs on her similarly to Sarah’s orphan background, or Rachel and Helena’s childhoods. She has to find how she fits into this family and the role she’ll play in it. One of the coolest child characters ever written and I infinitely enjoyed her more than I did Kira. Like Charlotte was charming and cute when she interacted with the older clones. And she actually contributed to problem solving as much as an 8 year old can. But being the new “pet” Leda has its advantage in that Susan told her things before she would tell Rachel and Cosima. She literally told an 8 year old life or death matters over two 20 something year old🙄 She had this mild worship of the older clones and it was adorable, it’s like this glimpse into the future for her, all these possibilities of who she could become.
Kira's the type to just accept it without second thought. Like when Cal asked about her drawing of Alison and Cosima, she just shrugged it off like it was perfectly normal.
Binged the rest of your reactions to this series recently, and now I'm all caught up! I love this series, so it's always fun to see someone new reacting to it. Going into season 3, I wondered if you had any plans to read the comic, "Orphan Black: Helsinki"? It's not *strictly* necessary, but it does provide some important context and it will answer in advance some questions that are sure to come up for you if you don't read it. Either way, I'm looking forward to the next reaction already! :)
@@KelseasComments I highly recommend the comics! The events of Helsinki are referenced several times during the show, so it's helpful to know the full context of what they're talking about. I think you can pick up the whole thing on Amazon for like $17? (If you're savvy enough you can probably also find it for free somewhere online, but I'm terrible at pirating stuff and have no advice that would help, lol.) There's also another comic book that's just called "Orphan Black" that provides some backstory for Sarah, Helena, Alison, Cosima, and Rachel. It's interesting stuff (especially the Helena section and the Rachel section), but it's just supplementary information. You can totally get by without reading Helsinki, it's just that the things that get brought up in the show might have less of an impact out of context. If you're not interested in reading the comics, I can provide explanations/context when stuff comes up. I'm always happy to talk about Orphan Black, lol :)
Oh no!! It was supposed to be on today at the normal time but I got a copyright claim for the clone dance scene 🤣. If I do it at the normal time tomorrow (6pm Pacific time) would it work for you??
@@KelseasComments Absolutely okay! Sorry, I went out for dinner and missed your reply. But you don't have to do this for me, just because Australia is on a different planet re time zones. Do whatever is best for you. Cheers.
I just binge-watched several videos after "The Handmaiden", your reactions are breathtaking. Btw, you could react "GAP - The Series", it's a Thai series that is still in release, I think you will like it 🥰
welp... if u think about it...everyone had it with Tatiana... also, rachel was having a tantrum, she just lost her dad for real. she's not holding that coporate image. she's just as much fked up as most of them sestras who grew up with trauma.
I saw that movie ages ago when it first came out! I read the book in like 4th grade too actually! Woah it's been forever since I thought about that movie!
