Watching *SAW* (2004) for The Traps | Movie Reaction 

Tobin Bell became the most famous horror character and simply laid down the whole movie.

The soundtrack (specifically "Hello Zepp" at the end) is just phenomenal Saw really does feel like that one of a kind franchise, one that can't really be replicated no matter what

The "Game over!" line still gives me chills

Pugga, I about nearly had a frickin' heart attack with you crawling off the floor! I had looked down for a moment and did a complete double take! Geez, man! lol

I think in one of the sequels, it shows Tobin Bell being injected with some drug when setting up the bathroom. It may have slowed his resperation, etc, and that is potentially why he was able to appear dead.

Great twist ending, never Saw it coming, i know the editing was a pain for this one but i appreciate the effort😊

An eagle eyed viewer can see the twist coming. The gun in Jigsaw’s hand is on the OPPOSITE side as the entry wound in his head. It would be impossible to shoot yourself in the right side of the head and then switch the gun to your left hand.

I love the fact that the writer/story co-producer Leigh Whannell puts himself in the movie (bathroom scene as Adam for first three movies)

2:19 Cary Elwes should have called the guy "Mr. Fucking Confused" for the rest of the movie. That would have been hilarious.

That's my favourite ending in all of Horror. The iconic and shocking reveal, along with Adam's horrifying screams as he gets trapped. Well Done! 👏

Watched this for the very first time a week ago with friends. The gore, and honestly the puppet in particular, scared me SO bad as a kid, so I felt like I really conquered something afterwards. Was surprised that how tame(?) it was, like a lot of the violence is visceral but we don’t really see a lot of it through the editing. Also, and this is just because I’m gay so I’m always on alert, but the last thing I expected was this arc between Lawrence and Adam, like woah. Only seen 1 & 2 so far, honestly excited to get to the rest!

Adam is AUSTRALIAN as well. So good at an American one. On the other hand Cary doesn’t hide his British one. My parents were born and raised in England but moved to Canada years ago. But still have a British accent. I lost mine when I started school.

So, Leigh Whannell wrote this and he played the role of the photographer. He’s also the writer of the Insidious movies and plays Specs in those.

Ending Gave me chills. I love when end credits is the audio of the movie/show instead of music

I absolutely love saw when I was only part that scared me was the razor wire trap not the flaming with Joey not Johns "dead" body the razor wire trap is the one that scares me the most mainly because of the screaming but when I got older I didn't get a scared of it than I was back then

Saw is my favourite horror movie ever. It easily has one of the greatest and phenomenal plot twists in cinematic history. Tobin Bell is a fucking legend, like when I found out that was actually actually him laying down, not moving a muscle without a stuntman, made me respect him more.

I remember watching Smallville and they did an episode where Lionel Luthor had to do an escape room of sorts. I thought it was very interesting. It wasn't until years later that I realized it was a take on Saw. I knew Toben Bell was rhe main villain of the series and I was a bit confused at first when I saw the movie but that ending got to me the same.

What a lot of people never seem to know going into this is that, at least the first movie here is a legitimate thriller drama with a compelling mystery to it's plot. Sadly, from this point in, the sequels devolve into more style over substance, but the first Saw is a very smart movie.

7:03 Back in the early 2000's there was maybe more of a chance than now to get a movie like this (low budget about 1.2 Million here, Independent - a smaller company had Saw until Lionsgate picked up the rights at the Sundance Film Festival) made and to be seen and become popular. Even then it took the guys a few years to get money to make this movie. They had to take $5000 and make a short (The Bear Trap scene was filmed with Leigh Wannell as a character who represents the Amanda character in the full movie) and shop it around with the full script to get an interested party. Film-making and becoming successful takes A LOT of luck, not just talent!! 🙂💀

Fun fact: The guy who played Adam is the brain behind the Saw franchise.

Matpat had made a pretty good theory on what actually happened to Adam, you should react to it, but you should only do that after finishing the series, if your going to anyways.

I never SAW someone who has seen the movie act so surprised about literally everything happening in it. I also haven't seen the movie in years, well until I rewatched it for this, but I still remembered pretty much everything from it and the other movies. And even if I forget certain things, the memories come back rather quickly when I rewatch things from years ago. I don't understand how one can forget entire movie premises even if it was from long ago. Idk. maybe I just have good memory, but I never had that happen to me. However if you are effectively blind that is a plus.
