It wasn’t Tracy that committed the sin she died for….it was John Doe….he ENVIED the life Mills had made for himself and his beautiful marriage to Tracy. Envy was John Doe’s sin. Then Mills committed the 7th sin, wrath, when he killed John Doe, completing the puzzle. Really brilliant storytelling in this film!

@@Gnossiene369 There is a USA Today article detailing this scene. It does say McGinly was genuinely shocked at the actor's movements. Its like the chest buster scene in Alien; all the actors knew SOMETHING was going to happen but they didnt know exactly what. It was probably similar here.
@chaost4544
@chaost4544 2 года назад
@@Gnossiene369 you might cut someone on that edge my guy. It's a well known story that has been verified by various people involved in the production including the actor who played Sloth. If you think the actor lied well... I don't know what to tell you. This is from a yahoo entertainment article where they interview the actor: “David Fincher said to the SWAT team, ‘Okay, you guys - when you come into this room, it’s a terrible smell. It’s dark and dank. And you see this corpse, and you see it’s really, really creepy. So I want you to portray all of that,’” says MacKay. What Fincher strategically neglected to mention was that the corpse was an actual actor - so when MacKay started coughing (“And that was such a great release because once I was able to do that, all my air came out!” he recalls), the other actors jumped back in very real shock. That take is the one that made the final cut - and it’s so effective on screen that it even scared MacKay. “When I saw the movie with friends, I wasn’t really grossed out or anything like that, because I knew what I’d looked like. But what really freaked me out is when I actually came to life. Because it comes out of nowhere. I didn’t expect that!” he says.

@betweenlakes 2 года назад
I always find stories like this hard to believe. There's a script, and it says what happens in the scene, and the actors tend to read the script at least once before the cameras roll. Especially with David Fincher, if you don't know the script, he'll bite your head off
@Caillron
@Caillron 2 года назад
@@betweenlakes The guy in the bed had one job. Lie there and act dead. Why would he need to go over the script with everyone else? He was just told to jump and cough real loudly when the other actor gets up in his face like that and says his line. They did similar in The Haunting of Hill House. When the girls are driving to the house they were told the actress who plays the bent-neck lady was going to do X, but she was told to do Y in secret. So when she jumps out and screams, their shock and fear is genuine.

The yellow books Mills read are called “cliffs notes”. They summarize novels so they’re easier to consume/comprehend for the reader. When Somerset surprisingly asks, “you read them?” Referring to the actual Parson’s Tale and Dante, Mills replies “Yeah, parts”. Just gives the audience a little comic relief during an otherwise grim discussion about a murder. Great film!

I saw this movie on video as a teenager - mid- to late-teens, a few years after it came out. It did a number on me for a short time (couple weeks, max). I just didn't feel right on the inside after witnessing the depravity of the Villain. I wasn't really a sheltered child, but it turns out I was naive about the kind of sickos that were out there lurking.

Some of them never think they did wrong. They just can't comprehend. But sometimes, for me, the worst are the ones with an actual conscious. They have actual empathy and remorse for their actions. How the hell does one explain that?

Glad we all have different taste cuz. Seven = one of those amazing movies. The Bone Collector = One of those, trying to hard to be smart, but instead so boring I barley made it thru till the end;) Edit: Had to make a quick look and "The Bone.." got 28% on Rotten Tomato. And gotta say I agree with that grade.

When I was little (50+ years ago), my favorite shows were Sesame Street, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood and Electric Company. It was Electric Company that introduced me to Morgan Freeman. Google pictures of him from that Era. He was the epitome of a hip guy. Pure Funk!

I haven't watched this movie for several years and I still think "What's in the box!" every time I have a package delivered to my house. Very disturbing moment. Also, you wanted to see a 'younger' Morgan Freeman? Here's a couple of items you might enjoy: "The Electric Company" 1971 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K00rz73s_zU.html "Brubaker" 1980 (which, by the way, is a GREAT movie even though this clip is about all you see of Freeman). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p-GGaY52gk4.html

Hey, Leo. Since you asked, a few ideas: 1) During your initial 7 minutes, fill the time conducting channel business. Give viewers friendly reasons to subscribe and hit the bell and like the video. Also, you can ask the viewers a question, or ask that they comment a piece of curiosity you have of your audience (favorite food, place to hang out, a book suggestion, etc). Advise viewers how to find your other channel. You have gathered attention (one of the most valuable of resources). Use it to your channel’s advantage. 2) Reading suggestion: pick one fiction and one non-fiction. For fiction, you could choose to read a classic (Dracula by Shelly, an Earnest Hemingway novel, Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes mysteries (for building detective thinking) etc) that you’ve been curious about. For non-fiction, think self-education. What have you been wanting to learn or understand better. How to write a novel, filmmaking or film editing, Beatles history, American history or civics, European history, spaceflight, how to succeed in business. Heck, you could get a textbook of your curious subject from the local Community College and start teaching yourself what you want to learn. Pick one of each and alternate each night, or r pick up and read casually. Either way, it’s up to you to keep discipline and keep picking the book up. Commit to a chapter a day. Get it in your daily habits and you’ll be reading on automatic motivation before you know it. Learn to build your curiosity. If a question forms in your mind, study to find the answer. You’re bright. Use your intelligence in your favor and keep discipline to find answers to questions. Do it yourself, and you can teach yourself a wealth of knowledge. :-) 3) I don’t think the content limitations end after seven minutes. Copyright and offensive content is still monitored by software throughout the video. Perhaps the RU-vid Terms and Conditions is something to add to your reading list. Read it to understand it. It’s wise if you want to turn this into a living. :-) I believe in you, Leo. Now it’s just a matter of putting in the work. :-)

L-O-V-E this film, and have watched it many times. I would watch Morgan Freeman in ANYTHING, but he's great in this. I really enjoy a film with a clever psychological theme and twist. Like Silence of The Lambs . Morgan Freeman's character against Brad Pitt's, had some really great interactions. Leo, I love all your reactions. Did I miss an unboxing can anybody tell me ! I have had a small gift for Leo for AGES, but don't know where to send it. Can anybody help me out please ? 🤔

Maybe for the first 7 or so minutes you could set up a fan question section. So have people comment questions for you like, 'what was your favorite movie growing up?' or 'what music are you listening to now?' and it might pass the time a little faster for you. Nothing TMI or crazy but idk...just thinking of something for you. Love the video as per usual!

If you like Kevin Spacey as an actor you should react or just watch “American beauty” if you haven’t! I love him cause he made me absolutely hate him after that movie. Same goes for Kevin Bacon, you should really watch “Sleepers” with him, fucking hate him after that! Both actors are as good as Jack Gleeson playing Joffrey. 😂
