Kuzco is the best Disney Princess period. Also he has one of THE best character arcs in the Disney canon.

This movie was supposed to be totally different. It would be dark, serious and epic and it was called *Kingdom Of The Sun.* In the story, Yzma would be a witch who's mad at the sun for making her old and ugly, so she would try to *summon the god of darkness* to get rid of the sunlight. In order to do that, she needed to kill the Emperor and offer him as a sacrifice because he was born with the mark of the sun, but she fails and he turns into a llama. Still, in the end *she succeeds and kills the Emperor,* but another god brings him back to life. I love this movie, but I can't help but think how cool it would be to have Yzma as a main Disney villain. Also, she was going to have a song that people didn't want to use even in the original story because they considered it "too dark" for kids. It's called Snuff Out The Light and it's amazing!

Yzma is voiced by Eartha Kitt who played Catwoman in the 60s (that’s why she tuns into a cat) she was also the first to sing Santa Baby she sadly passed away a couple years ago

One thing I love about Nick EVERY TIME is that he always points out and marvels at scenery and shots I've just so easily paid no mind to - especially in animation. 💖 Like, I've been in/studying the animation industry most of my life and have watched these movies dozens of times but I always see it with new eyes with Nick's videos. 😄

The humor in this movie is next level, as is the voice cast.

Four things: 1. Disney, I hope you revive the "Kingdom of the Sun" idea, or make a live-action remake where Yzma rules the empire and Kuzco has to get it back. 2. I love the idea that Yzma is secretly Kuzco's biological mother. 3. I need more Disney films with a male protagonist and female antagonist. That's a rare combo. 4. The humor and voice acting is top-notch here (though honestly, I've never seen an animated film with bad voice acting, but still). Plus it's ironic when you realize Yzma thinks Kuzco knows she tried to poison him, while Kuzco thinks she adores him. Neither of them really know the other, despite their similarities.

This has got to be one of the funniest disney movies ever 😂 Also you should try watching Atlantis: the lost empire or maybe princess and the frog if you haven't seen them.

Fun fact: the old man who is thrown out the window is voiced by the same actor who did the voice of Piglet in the old Winnie the Pooh shorts. I think it was also his last film role.

The Emperor's New Groove is simply unforgettable in terms of its own characters and slapstick humor. For the most part, I think the movie deeply emphasizes the sheer importance of family and the negative impact of greed and the sense of inferiority. Still, I enjoyed the fact that this movie, I have to say, is unique and what stands out more is that the main female villain is just as funny and a bit dumb from time to time as our two male MCs. I wish more animated movies have this kind of humorous appeal among the younger crowd/audience until this very day. That's all 😊

And also when me and my sister were kids, whenever we had noddles for dinner i would recreate the restaurant scene from Kuzco and Patcha entering the restaurant to When Kronk becomes the new chef. Also Patcha is voiced by John Goodman he also voiced Sulley from Monsters inc and Kuzco is voiced by David Spade

The "old man" is John Fiedler in one of his final performances (for Disney fans, he's best known as the voice of Piglet from most of the classic Pooh cartoons, all the way to PIGLET'S BIG MOVIE)

All I here is Joe Swanson from Family Guy trying to kill David Spade, and I love it. Patrick Warburton has a perfect voice.

I love this movie. I saw it in theatres when it came out. So funny, great voice cast. It's so underrated. The sequel "Kronks New Groove" is actually good. Especially considering strait to DVD Disney sequels are usually so bad you want to forget them.

I love this classic comedy so much! It’s that movie where you can visit so much to get you to laugh and smile. I like how the theme and the plot doesn’t revolve around lovers and more of friendship and family. The character arc of Kuzco was amazing like from this selfish spoiled brat to a caring person that is able to sympathize with others thanks to Pacha. I must say, favorite character award personally goes to Kronk. He is such a lovable, sweet, funny character and I want his spinach puffs. Thank you so much for this reaction Nick~ 🥰❤️

This movie is based on my country and culture, and it still holds a place in my heart.

This movie WAS originally going to be a musical. The original songs and even most of the plot were scraped, which is a GOD DAMN SHAME because they absolutely should have fully utilized the talents of Eartha Kitt. Look up “Snuff Out the Light.” It’s Yzma’s villain song that they were fools to abandon.

It is very hard to hate Kronk, but easy to like/love him

I love detail when Yzma pours her drink in the plant. When they pan to her later in the scene the plant has transformed into the shape of a llama 😂😂 such a great detail!

Emperor's New Groove is exceptional in its pacing, IMO this movie is one of the best examples in film of great pacing. It is engaging from the word go to the second you read "the end."

The reason I loved Kronk so much is that he was the villain's sidekick, but he was actually a genuinely nice person the whole time. I've heard of Affably Evil (a villain who is also a nice person despite being evil), but he's not evil either.

I still love how Yzma excuses the one guard who was turned into a cow and even asks if anyone else was wanting to go home because of the animal that they were turned into.

There are some jokes in every Disney movie but this is likely the only full on comedy (animated) movie from Disney.

Great reaction as always, this is one of my favorite post renaissance Disney movies. Are you planning on reacting to any live action Disney films? If so, I have a few options for you to react to if you haven't seen them yet. Like the Mighty Ducks trilogy, the Honey trilogy, Angels In the Outfield, The Big Green (highly underrated), The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy, the Homeward Bound films, Blank Check, Holes, Freaky Friday/The Parent Trap (original or remake, both versions of each film are enjoyable. Plus Lindsay Lohan is in both remakes), Sky High, Remember The Titans, The Princess Diaries films, Flubber, and Flight of the Navigator (another underrated film).

I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! It's one of my childhood favourites. Fun fact, my husband makes spinach puffs like Kronk. He accidentally burned one batch, so he completely sympathizes with Kronk when he runs to get them out of the oven!

21 years later, still one of the best disney movies in recent time ...and yzma still sounds exactly like frieza

Yzma is voiced by Eartha Kitt - one of the three original Catwomem from the Adam West 'Batman' series, and basically the first African-American sex symbol (though many reckoned she was still a sex symbol right up until her death, mostly because by all accounts she kept her legs in great shape), also singing star with numerous records her first and some say most famous being 'That Bad Eartha' (because of the cover) known for songs such as 'I Want to Be Evil' and 'Santa Baby'. She's also been credited with basically saying 'Black Lives Matter' before it was a thing, and made a career for herself in France when she was all but kicked out of America when she confronted First Lady Lady Bird Johnson during a White House luncheon with anti-Vietnam War statements. When they were first putting the story together (this being one of the cases where the story they start with is basically nothing like the story they finished with) they gave her a song 'Snuff Out the Light' (which was still recorded and released) and gave us the answer to that question Kuzco asked "What is holding this woman together" - it turns out that Yzma's father had been he royal mortician, and he taught her every one of his tricks (she described his skills as that of a mortician, I'm guessing there are those who consider being a mortician to be an artist).

I was actually thinking about requesting this film before, but now I won’t have to. Also to me this is one of the funniest films ever made right up there with the works of the classic Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, good Bill Murray films , and the Marx Brothers. A few facts about the film -the woman who plays Yzma is legendary actress Eartha Kitt most famous for singing Santa Baby, was one of two woman who played Cat Woman in the Adam West Batman series, and the woman who hit on Eddie Murphy in Boomerang. -The theme song guy is played by singer Tom Jones most famous for singing “It’s not unusual to be loved by anyone” and until I saw him in the film Mars Attacks I always thought he was a black guy, and the songs for the film were written by Sting, -when Yzma throws the potion on the cactus it turns into a llama shaped cactus, -this was the first animated Disney film to showcase a pregnant mom, My favorite bit of trivia is when the guard says “Hey I’ve been turned into a cow. Can I go home?” Is a play on the saying “till the cows come” I have seen this film so many times the comedy never wears out and I can quote it nearly word for word it is that great! -The original idea for this film and the process it went through was insane. If you can find it look up the documentary The Sweatbox. -The old man thrown out the window is voiced by John Fiedler most famous as the voice Piglet until his death in 2005. -nobody dies in the film except that one fly. -John Goodman the voice of Pacha is Sully from Monsters Inc.
