I love how Nux has gotten himself into a deep dive of South Park, that he is slowly becoming a South Park channel. Soon there will be a day where Nux will become a full on South Park channel, and then BECOME one with South Park
honestly i don't know that parodied show, but i still got the "such-type-of-documentary" joke and the whole gap between the overly dramatic narrator and the kid's dreadfuly mundane group tour experience
It's like Dr Jordan Peterson and his flirtation with Christianity. He's too much of a big thinker and is afraid of the implications. Holds it to a high regard, but doesn't go any further.
There was quite a bit of fan division when they changed up their episodes from being stand alone to a season long arc in 2014-2015 range when the pc principle era began.
I genuinely didn't realize this episode was divisive at all. I always liked it because it was unique and broke the structure of normal episodes. I guess it helps that I knew about the show it was parodying, but even if I didn't, I love that the boys are so absurdly bored at the sheer mundane nature of something like guided tours, that it is literal hell for them. A lot of South Park episodes wind up bleeding together, so I like that this one stands out. It's a nice change of pace from their usual formula
@@yourcommentisntfunnyv2709 its fire if your with the same age group as yourself, if your with like older people or people who don’t speak your language its pretty boring
Depends on where you are. Most are exactly like how South Park shows it. Some are cooler. I went to an adventure park in Mexico. The zips are 100 feet up and go over through different waterfalls, caves, if was actually pretty cool, but yeah, most experiences aren't the best.
Me: *Gets melee kill* The LT employee: *Shocked* Also Me: "What? You never said we couldn't do that, just no running, jumping, or covering the sensor. You said nothing of using of Finishers."
in my country there is one ziplining park, which I can't really call ziplining just because it is more like an obstacle course 4-20 meters in the air and it takes about 2-3 hours to clear it. not to mention the higher you go the harder it is so it is really stressful when you're dangling 15meters in the air trying to rest your arms so you could go back to a course. luckily there are checkpoints on which you can just climb down the tree and finish course early.
I remember when I was 12 or 13 they built a zipline in my town's football field for a day (it was a big place so the players were able to train) and they combined it with rock climbing, long story short if you wanted to zipline you had to rock climb first, it was actually more exciting than this episode
The Ziplining episode was my first episode, and I loved it. I was in Middle School and they were showing Health Videos that the episode was parodying in class, so it was perfect timing
0:35 I've seen... most of them? I got bored after the Cthulhu season, needed a break after binging from season 1-14. That being said yes I do plan on going back... it is inevitable, it sucks you in... meaning it's too late for you Nux, there is no stopping the inevitable.
This show has so much hate because it's heavily misunderstood. I guess some people didn't understand that the "Based On A True Story" wasn't ENTIRELY a joke.
I'm actively going on those hiking trips with a group/organization that my parents sign into. For about two years now. The places we go to are fantastic and beautiful, the guide knows a shit ton about the history and facts about the region. Gorgeous. Every trip is a test. A test of mental fortitude. What holds more value: the experience, the wilderness' charm and splendor or putting up with other's shit for 6-8 hours in a group where the avarage age is 55yo.
I did go on a tour guide where the guide told us the history of the trees around us. I said to my mom it was the most boring thing I'd ever heard "well some people like to know this stuff". I'm glad I'm not the only one who's had to suffer through something like that.
It's why ACDC has has to keep performing Thunderstruck live even after having played it live about thirty thousand times now. It's why famous actors hate their iconic characters. It's because that's all people want to see and hear from them.
I never watched "I Shouldn't Be Alive", but there are so many other shows that are similar either in premise or execution that I was able to understand the parody anyway.
I went ziplining in the jungle in Costa Rica. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Largely because it had way less waiting and safety involved.
I went zip lining & really enjoyed it, but I went with my high school Spanish class in Costa Rica. The lines were long & super high up, so we were going FAST down those lines. Couldn't even see the ground
I've never been ziplining nor have I seen the show this episode is a parody of, but I still love this episode of South Park, even though I can't relate to literally any part of it. And it's not the gross out humor that sold me on it, because that's actually my least favorite part of the episode, especially in the live action segment.
will say, never went on tours or ziplining, dont know that experience, that being said, love the episode, and find like it more, the more i seen it. Im an empath, and watching and listening to all that is going on, i could imagine how I would feel if I was going through all that, and man, wouldnt like it, and can see how they exaggerated the moments, like the "To make a long story short", I alreayd know that would be jarring, at the same time, that is so funny, cause the more he said it, you are thinking, "little too late for that", or "If that is the short version, hate to hear the long one"
Th thing is, I just love South Park as a complete series. I love how there's always a relatable element to all the parody episodes they do. Because it's always something that they either have done their homework on or have personal experience with
Given this is about a singular episode that is a favorite of many, what's everyone's favorite episode(s)? For me it's either the lord of the rings parody or the second superhero arc.
It's one of my favorite episodes. Exactly because I've been on a group ziplining tour and I hated every second of it. Though I was also on a private tour with some friends and it was alright.
it is the difference between "pop culture" and "pop culture reference" pulp fiction stands the test of time because it was a pop culture film that referenced generic things in pop culture at the time, the waynes brothers movies like scary movie burn out and fade away because they are pop culture reference so if someone watches them now like 80% of the jokes or gags are just missed cus they are direct references to things that where popular back then.
17:35 Wow Nux, I'm Italian, and I'm watching your videos to try to improve my English (and because you're funny!). I'm glad that you visited my Country! Did you like Pompei?
Hahaha, I did not knew this was a parody of a particular show, I did understood that the formula representation this kind of shows use of exaggerating experiences to try and grab attention from watchers skipping channels, not really good entertainment. Good video reaction, nux.
This is one of my favorite episodes and i havent watched the show it was referencing, but i still knew about the tropes they were referencing so i still found it funny
South Park is like one of those bands that don't really have a bad song. The so and so songs still has some experimental edge that you can respect even though it wasn't quite a homerun. Edit: that is exactly what I feel about this episode. The true crime or disaster reconstruction of events tv angle is kinda funny. Its...alright. Also ive been on tours myself. They do be like that.
3:20 Funny way Mr Bloomser spells RU-vid and 4chan Those are the actual best places for opinions, although both would be hard to get said opinions from sometimes
Ngl I’ve seen this episode like 3 times and I watched blooms video when it came out but still I feel like I have very little to no memory of how the story fully plays out.
If you ever decide to move on to watching full episodes (which I would highly recommend!) _Please,_ don't make the same mistake every other reaction channel did. Watch the episodes in order. Yes, some episodes are definitely worse than others, but the thing is: 1. Some of the episodes, like the infamous "200" and "201", are much, MUCH more enjoyable if you've seen the rest of the show up to that point. And though most other episodes aren't as reference-heavy, just as a general rule of thumb, you *will* most likely enjoy the average episode more if you've seen the ones preceeding it. 2. If you watch all the episodes the comment section or live chat recommends, you will eventually run out of episodes that are objectively good, and soon enough, you'll start feeling a little underwhelmed and like the show has run out of steam. In reality, almost every season has at least a few major bangers, it just doesn't feel like it when they're the first few episodes you see.
13:21 The algorithm just recommends his South Park videos to people watching South Park. If he had made some connection to mention South Park in that video, it'd probably have just as many views.
I like the ziplining episode because it's like a big acid trip. I am not saying it's objectively good, but if you watch south park for entertainment only it's a really fun one.
Nux: “please don’t like this video, I don’t want to watch South Park”…. “Oh noooo this video got liked, unfortunately I have to watch South Park”. “Have you ever seen a South Park breakdown? Guess I have go watch them all and them all and tell you about them.”
Really, that episode? I thought the ending was kinda dumb when it went IRL, but it wasn't that bad overall. It's just a parody of that show that was on Discovery.
What? I honestly love change most of the time. I also loved this episode since it's so relatable. Man, most people really are boring and want the same thing everytime. No wonder there is no creativity in most populair music / movies. 14:56 false. I'm European and didn't even know the parody since that show won't air here, but I loved the episode.
You have to realize that from my point of view, and probably lots of others, things that annoy the shit out of the boys and torture them have the same affect to viewers like me. I was both bored and extremely annoyed by the same stuff that was annoying the boys, whether it was just because I could imagine what that situation would be like, or just vicariously I don't know, but this was one of my least favorite episodes due to that. My most hated episode is the most hated episode for the same reason: Jakovosaur. It's the one I dislike the most for ONE specific reason, hearing that annoying ass sound the jakovosaurs made and were constantly making throughout the episode. It annoyed me so bad that it is the ONLY episode of all of South Park that I will not watch over again.
It was a fine episode and I wouldn’t have ever called it polarizing but the worlds a big place. Something always rubs someone wrong. The live action stuff I could see upsetting some but I felt it was well incorporated. The pseudo documentary style worked for me but I get why some wouldn’t enjoy it.
This reminds me of how people complain about remakes of movies. Original movies come out ALL the time but no one goes to see them or they do well but don’t get much publicity. Like this Southpark episode and the live action section, originality is risky in entertainment.
12:14 points Nux... at the same time having seen this episode... I do not remember it existing until I watched this video. It wasn't because they did something new necessarily, I think it was just because it was boring, audiences felt like they were being held hostage just as much as the characters. I know I already dislike the format of shows that have the interviewing of the characters, I dislike them greatly, even when it's parodied. That and Blair Witch Project style camera annoying crap, even one of my favorite shows Psych, even though they were hunting Big Foot in that episode, despite the hilarity of it, and the series of unfortunate events for Lassie... do not like that episode simply because of the Blair Witch style they chose to use. It's boring, it's annoying with the camera shaking, I will say even good movies like As Above So Below or Cloverfield, I reflect and enjoyed what I saw... but would never want to experience them ever again because of how much I hate that format of video. I will never watch those movies again, because of that, Documentary style and whatever that style is, nope can't do them, I've had more fun watching black and white movies. Yes new things can disgruntle people, but any person worth their salt will give it a try whether they think they will like it or not. I'm always down for trying new things, despite being a very nostalgic reliant person.
