It's so sad seeing how shit the 100000 - 1000 bby lore is for canon, like everything the guy in the video mentions are just random events, no actual important stuff like the kwa, rakata, sith species, the TWO mandalorian crusades, the sith empires barely fleshed out, no revan no vitiate, it's really sad that people will see the canon star wars timeline and think that nothing truly important happens until 30 bby, when in the EU there's so much that happens

@@jamaldavis2480 HE is correct that it is a bastardization. IT has some parts, but not the best parts as canon. This is part EU and Old Republic video games. The Sith were an actual, red-skinned race.

The timeline, so bsck during the early eras of the republic, like during the first 20 planets time, hyperspace explorers would land on Kerrigan the home world of the Sith Race, which was part of a larger sith empire, this empire had existed for centuries under the rule of powerful Sith like Markos Ragnos and Tulak Horde. At this time, Naga Sadow would unite the Sith against his political enemies using republic aggression as a tool and call for war against them, thus beginning the Hyperspace war. Naga Sadow was a master of Battle Meditation, and just by meditating on a space ship hidden away, he made the Sith virtually undefeatable. A suicide strike from the Jedi and Republic managed to cripple Sadow, and deal a devastating blow. Without a leader, the Sith turned on each other, and eventually the Republic one the war, with a few sith survivors heading to the far reaches of space. Centuries later a human Jedi and some of his cohorts would fall to thr dark side, journey to Kerrigan and revive the Sith, now as an idea/religion this was Ajunta Pall and the rebirth of thr sith, who led various small attacks and wars, they damaged the galaxy but were mostly isolated Jedi falling to the dark side, Ulic Qel Droma, and Exar Kun for example. However the Jedi Civil war began when Revan a Jedi war hero, and savior of the republic turned almost half o the republic forces, many of whom were veterans of the mandalorian wars, to thr dark side, leading to the massive scale of what is known as the Jedi Civil War. Closing off the Old Republic Era, is the return of the Sith Empire who had hidden away for thousands of years, and basically began the second Hyperspace war, with their Dark Emperor, Vitiate at the head, a sith who had achieved immortality and body transference, having existed since the end of the hyperspace war

Despite the Acolyte, the slugthrowers tend to not be that effective due to reflexes and telekinesis. Blast weapons on the other hand, very effective.

The reason you don't see them is how rare force users are and how armor is too strong for said slug throwers.

Which makes no sense because A) both are depicted as able to direct bullets with the Force and B) lightsabers instantly annihilate everything they touch and so the bullets should be as well.

I've gotta disagree there. I love Kreia and agree with her on a lot of things but trying to KILL THE FORCE! Is not only hypocritical (a hypocrisy she admits to) but also would weaken the galaxy as not everyone is strong enough to survive what Meetra did and given the thousands of years of strife that existed after her WITH the Jedi, imagine how much worse it would be without them. You can stop Palpatine and Bane sure but you won't be able to stop the Yuuzhan Vong who, while they didn't feel the force could still be somewhat affected by it, making Jedi really important

By Kreia's own Darwinistic logic, the Yuuzhan Vong conquering the galaxy due to a lack of Force sensitives would be unfortunate for those subject to the Vong's atrocities and the cruel regime that would follow, but that would simply be nature running its course and there is nothing inherently wrong with the conflict the Vong would bring so long as they didn't pointlessly exterminate all life in the galaxy or otherwise waste all the effort and resources their conquest had garnered. I was really waiting for the video to cover it, but he sort of gets glossed over. This is likely because Disney hasn't made Revan canon again, which is weird because they made an attempt with the previously cancelled last season of the Clone Wars. (the Draft that was made before the actual final season was made,)

the real reason they choose to not use expanded universe is in the deal lucas made when selling star wars to disney they agreed to give him royalties on any merchandise made out of the existing expanded universe he thought this would net him good money as the expanded universe was full of content he even gave them a rough draft for a trilogy set between the original and prequal trilogies involving darth maul as the main villain they kinda used his idea of maul returning in rebels but its not the same they basically found a way to do him dirty and not pay him as much.... this is how we got this current disney star wars they figured if they make completely new stories and stray away from his stuff as fast as possible more money for them.... i still find a good laugh thinking about how bad they ruined star wars all in their effort to make more money its ironic that their greed is what has inevitably cost them the millions they have wasted on star wars shows and un-sold merch

Kind of glad I never got into star wars further then the appreciating the original trilogy, the prequels, and the hot alien girls that pop up from time to time when something new star wars happens... This is something I absolutely fear in any franchise I'm invested in despite wanting it to continue into eternity... Like I'm not a fan and hearing what happen in the new trilogy pissing me off a bit because just the bit I'm hearing doesn't make any fucking sense. Like Rey taking the Skywalker name because it was handed down to her... sure I could get that... but ugh... just so many issue that add up.

@@m05513 It's a combination of legal issues and royalties. They don't want to pay people like Bioware, EA, or Veitch's estate royalties. TOR/KOTOR alone is gigantic mess of legal rights considering you have Drew Karpeshyn, Bioware, Obsidian, EA, and LucasFilm all having their own share of ownership of the story and characters involved.

@@grahamdixon1699 Well, the Rakata are still canon. So is Revan. Thing is - they are reduced to vague, one line mentions now, with no full context so far. Largely thrown in by makers of Andor and the Clone Wars, as homages. Bane's story also, has a fairly strong chance of being retold... but also likely, changed. Revan may remain a bit safer, however.

The race sadly aren't Canon anymore, only Korriban/Morriban now.

@@nicholas2153 It’s complicated because Revan exists in both Legends and Disney Wars, however only the Legends Revan has actually had stories written about him. Disney Revan only exists as a reference from Episode IX, and unless they get that KOTOR remake off the ground, that’s all the lore there is about him. To clarify, the Outlander and their involvement with Revan is canon to Legends, but there’s been no word from Disney that TOR is being grandfathered into their timeline. So it’s canon to Legends but not to Disney.

Its a shame it needed multiple spinoffs to retroactively make it not as stupid (Mandalorian Season 3 had Moff Gideon creating force-sensitive clones of himself, and the process for making force sensitive clones required a donor with a high midichlorian count which is why the empire was after Grogu)

Any real star wars lore video that covers absolutely everything would be a minimum of 2 hours. This video only touches on the major lore of the cannon and skips a bunch of minor lore, and sometimes even just throws in random things that it could have previously explained with no explanation, like maul being alive wouldn't have cone out of no where if he had talked about the clone wars TV show.

@@rowdeemunkee I have enjoyed several of the new novels myself. Quite a few really. They get a bit let down by certain plot contrivances (the Empire collapses very quickly now, and the New Republic becomes too pacifistic too quickly, and often disarmed; the Chosen One prophecy is vaguer than before) and so on. But books like the new Thrawn novels, most of the Alphabet Squadron trilogy, and some of the High Republic books are pretty good all-around. Comics like Hope Dies and Crimson Reign are also really solid. And of course - Andor: elevating things considerably.

They just called some soldiers that way, nothing else indicates that the canonical Darth Revan is the same as in the games. The same canonical Darth Bane didn't kill all the Sith, he just survived while they killed each other themselves.

You got a specific video in mind? Because it's easy to recommend World of Darkness stuff, but the issue is finding something of actual substance to share that isn't just the core books. Personally, I've found TheBurgerKrieg, Lazar of Stygia, and the Galliard Group to be the most informative when it comes to WoD lore, with the Galliard Group being particularly good with Werewolf: The Apocalypse and discussing the actual mechanics of WoD nd how the different clans, tribes and factions interact with one another, in addition to just in-universe history. Although the fact that they insist on calling their podcast 'Galliard's Guide to Werewolf' regardless of the subject matter of the day for the sake of consistency within the algorithm is a tad awkward.
