Slight clarification, Skullgirls did indeed get in at EVO but it was a side tournament and it never received main stage prestige at EVO. Difficult to say whether Melee would be likely to receive similar treatment, however, if SG would have won.
I've watched this a few times and this is probably the most enjoyable it's been for me. This doco just inspires me so much and the community that is and was associated with this game. So sick!

scar's "revolutionary" puff hate was against mango because mango beating down M2K broke down his understanding of reality. early years Scar hate against mango was hilarious, so its funny that in this past weekend tourney scar declared that he was a huge mango lover from the beginning
alright Dr PP I just watched this whole thing 3 differnt times, once sober once on shrooms and another time on acid. your movements aren't human I noticed it sober and had to altar my state of mind & double check, its freaky I'm scared that your a Reptilian. but never the less Ill continue to support and hope you come back to melee
Love you Aus! I really wanna compete again, and it's about my health entirely. It has gotten well enough to stream, and with stream money I have found even better treatments. I think good things will be on the way in due time

I don't believe that watching a segment of a documentary devoted to Gamer Words is inherently bad. Not saying you do either, but I also don't see the harm in watching it. I did listen to your explanation as to why you skipped, I'm just giving you my two cents. Perhaps watching that section, with hindsight, would allow for a more contemplative experience in regards to our evolution as a gaming community.... But by skipping it, you are still allowing those words to have control over you.
the doc actually handles gamer words respectfully. i don't respect you skipping past that. own up to the past and show that you have moved past it. pretending it didn't happen is cowardice.
He's already owned up to it multiple times in these streams alone. He just wishes for the community to move completely past it. Not to mention it's not like his reaction to any of this would add anything as he's already commented on it numerous other times.
@@WoHJosh i guess my problem is mainly that he skipped over the part of the doc where they talk about why they used those words, and everyone expressed regret that they participated in that. maybe someone should release a censored version, so people who are sensitive to that language can watch it without needing to skip over large chunks
@@johnnycrash4892 basically it was more common in those days to be edgy by calling each other gay slurs and joking about rape. everyone involved regrets it (or at least says they do), but that's why pp was skipping parts
