Storm's problem in the beginning of this movie is that she's just as bad as the government regarding the anti-mutation serum, just from the other side. Government: Every mutant gets the serum, we don't care if they want it or not. Storm: NO mutant gets the serum, I don't care if they want it or not.

The biggest problem with X MEN FIRST CLASS is that they focused the story around Jennifer Lawrence version of MISTIQUE they were trying to make the talent happy and not focuse on the Story and characters

One movie you, preferably Monica too, should watch is blade. If you don't already know, blade is a Marvel hero. You should remember that if you choose to watch it. Because it won't feel like a Marvel movie. It's dark, gory and a lot of profanity. There are two big reasons why you should watch this. Firstly, a Blade MCU reboot is on the way. So it'll give you some context and backstory if nothing else. The other reason is because without blade, there would be no MCU. Back in the 90s, Marvel was dead in the sea. They had one last chance to make a film that would bring in some money. Not only did Blade keep Marvel from going bankrupt but it brought in enough money to make other iconic films like XMen and eventually, Iron man.

AVI ARAD worked on the first two movies as executive producer But for the 3rd movie, he decided to step in as the main producer That's why we got a movie done by a director with no passion, and a limited story overstuffed with characters, just so he could sell more toys

You’re a mutant in THIS realm though - that’s the point. Mutation happens all the time in many different ways. So why suddenly decide to discriminate and attack anyone for anything that’s part of who they are.

Something that becomes obvious on high-sight. Magneto did not abandon Mystique. The two of them and rather smart and they have spent a lot of time together and they knew that there was the possibility of one or the other or both of them might be 'cured'. So both Magneto and Mystique PLANNED AHEAD (like they do in chess) and had a plan in place for what to do if one or more of these senerios should happen.

the Jean portion of this movie was based on the Dark Phoenix Saga which was a massive storyline almost ten years in set up and involving multiple storylines with galactic empires and it was reduced to a b plot to the mutant cure. On it's own this movie is a decent story but as an adaptation it was a horrible disappointment.

The real mcu CIVIL WAR story is about the MUTANT REGERSTATION ACT

I really disliked this when I saw it in theatres. Partially because of the rushed story, mostly because of the lame Juggernaut. Luckily, we have Deadpool 2 to give us a better version. (Deadpool seems to be the series in which mistakes go to be undone). However, watching it through again with you made me realize that there is a lot of good in this movie too. It is interesting how malleable x-men is to the topics of the day. At first, Stan Lee created the concept of mutation as a source for superheros simply to save running through a new origin story every time. The first incarnation was more about kids (the original x-men were all kids) as superheroes, then it adapted itself to the civil rights movement, the gay rights movement, and this one can really be seen pretty well through a Trans lens (although I doubt that was intended), and even accidentally touches on Vax mandates with the weaponized "cure". X-men really lends itself to analogy and allegory like no other series.

Now you have to watch the Wolverine movies lol...what he had to do to Jean, the woman he loved, will forever haunt him. And I beg u to NOT watch X-Men days of Future Past lol just trust me, it ruins and confuses everything. Just consider this movie to be the end of the X-Men movies...you can watch the reboots where they're are younger, they are ok movies, but just trust me, DO NOT watch Days of Future Past. Edit: on second thought, Logan is an absolute masterpiece and u should watch it, and if you don't watch Days of Future past, then u might be a little confused watching Logan...just make sure u watch the movies in order and save Logan for last.
