Late 90's Canadian rock was dark in a way, but not depressing... Matthew Good Band, Barstool Prophets, Watchmen, Big Wreck all had that feeling to them... best era of music in my opinion.
You can almost guess what songs a band does will appear on a "Best of..." album. when I heard this song, before I even knew there was one, I thought this would appear on a "Best of Watchmen" album. Great band - my band covers a few of their songs. They're real hits at shows ^__^
The lines go... "Look at the pictures you've gotten Like signals from oncoming cars We're covered in a cake from the last time I know it sounds weird, we collect it in jars Is that just the place that I wanna be?""
@jayson4636 It's about being "we're covered in cake from the last time" ... ever heard of wearing cake on you face? The idea of a relationship being so on and off again that they "collect it in jars." fit the cadence my ass. It's called poetic expression in lyrics.
Sorry, Jayson4636 is wrong. " I know it sounds weird, we collect it in jars." That's the line....learn it......love it. FYI lyrics don't have to make sense to anyone but the songwriter. Even then sometimes they don't. Ask Mr. Plant what the Stairway to Heaven lyrics mean. Even he doesn't know....
@jayson4636 i like when someone has to get staightened out a lil, i mean if ur gonna go off about something at least be right... good lookin out and nice correction dude..
