"They" who is this "They" you think is "They"? That " They" never stop making this music? "They" isn't a "They" it's Trent it's Nine Inch Nails not a "They" lol
20 years of making your own samples, with no end in sight, builds you quite a library of sounds and tones you can mix and match. So even when Trent releases something new it sounds familiar.
its sounds like them, but not too much, but then alot, but then not again and leaves a bit of conflict. the whole ep was like that - esp that one scene that felt like stranger things score
No way it sounds like who it sounds like what a trip I never thought it could ever sound like the creators who it sounds like now that's a whole new twist on who it should sound like to sound like the artist it should sound like consider it says who's RU-vid channel this is who it should sound like it sounds like lol
Love when that classic bass guitar line comes in. Trent and Atticus just have such a phenomenal knack for sound production quality. 2018 Cold Black and Infinite was my first NIN tour ever, saw two shows in New York, hopefully the boys are coming back again soon!!
Yeah man Caught them last year in ny And before in 2013 during the hesitation Mark's tour. I'd say they destroyed it last year more. Way heavier and stripped
@@giorgioskb I don't care if everyone thinks my opinion is wrong. Also I could argue that the guitars in with teeth and year zero were influenced by that same heavy distorted guitar from Broken
But, seriously, everyone must read the comic book. Is one of the most important cultural artifacts from the XX century. In fact, if happens that a grocery note by Mr. Moore is in your sight, you must read it.
Day 1 NIN fan. Saw him with Manson and the Jim Rose Circus at the Boathouse in Norfolk VA in 94 when I was in the Navy. 25 years later I still love what he's producing. Still creating memories for me. I looked at my recommendations and this was staring me in the face. This is one of those times the algorithm payed off. Bravo Trent and Atticus.
@@MrKlove01 Yep back when TDS had just came out. You basically had the fans who listened to PHM, and Broken, then the new fans who just heard Closer on MTV and hopped on the bandwagon, lol. Lot's of metal fans wearing Metallica tees or ACDC. So I tried to find the people with the Ministry shirts or Skinny Puppy to find the people actually in the know. To me the term "Industrial" just meant detailed, meticulous, and thoughtful. Not just about sick guitar solos and a nice groove. The music is a little more sublime. Not that traditional metal is bad or anything. They were obviously great musicians and song writers but people like Trent, Jack Dangers, and Al were great artists. They created their own instruments by using samples of sounds and manipulate them with synths and computers. Today it's how a lot of music is made, especially hip hop.
@@thisisisabella3634 NIN was my introduction to industrial. I was in my last semester of college when PHM came out and HLaH had been on pretty heavy rotation on MTV. I couldn't hear it enough at that time. Even having a decent college radio station, which we did, hadn't made as much of an impact on me as that spng. I grabbed PHM as soon as I could and it didn't leave my CD player for months. I happened to be in the record store the day Broken hit the shelves (I haunted those places almost daily back then, so it's probably not as much of a coincidence as all that) and grabbed it without having heard anything at all, popped it in the car and was in awe. It was so much more raging and primal than PHM, but I loved it. Gave Up has been one of my favorite tracks since that first listen. It was Broken that got me started seeking out the NIN bootlegs and, from there, that led to 1000 Homo DJs, which led directly to Ministry, and then to SP, MBM, Throbbing Gristle, etc. I give complete credit to Trent for blowing the doors off my previously relatively tame musical tastes. I still enjoy most of the music that I had listened to prior to that, but NIN was what led me to realize that there was something truly artistic at work there where I had previously only heard noise.
@@MrKlove01 Have you seen "In case you didn't feel like showing up?" I had it on VHS then lost it and bought another copy off eBay. Now it's on RU-vid. That live version of "So What" is one of my all time favorites.
This is such a great tune. Although NIN's music has advanced and evolved endlessly since the beginning, somewhere in this track is that unique sound that would feel at home on Pretty Hate Machine.
In the words of my wife while we watched the show, “That sounds like Trent.” I predict a tour in the near future with Trent and Atticus performing selections from the scoring work they’ve done.
I went to their concert last summer in Berlin, and at one point during the pre-show playlist it was "And When the Sky Was Opened" and "Technically, Missing" back-to-back over the PA. It was a really nice moment, because to me those two tracks are the best pieces of music they've done in the last five years.
@@ashington89 😆👍👍 YEAH...! THANK YOU PAL!!! I was also gonna leave my own reply in my own comment BEFORE anyone replies' to it! I was going to say; "Enter the NIN-trix"😎
@@Ramenoth Thank you...👍 You know that one scene in particular, from "The Matrix Revolutions." Where all the humans were piloting those huge robots' with two big heavy machine-gun for arms... versus ALL of those massive-swarms' of Sentinels...? I can easily imagined one of NIN's soundtrack "Underneath It All" (from their album "The Fragile"), just going perfectly along with that battle-scenes in the movie...
And when I listened to "Copy of A" (from their album "Hesitation Marks"), I also immediately get easily reminded of, the Cyborg-Ninja character "Gray Fox," from Metal Gear Solid... (Also another video game.)
30 years later and Rezner still makes me feel that special something that's not simply derivative of his old stuff or a sound that breaks with his identity.
Can't believe what I just listened to... Every time I think Trent can't surpass his own mold, he proves me wrong. Please tell me there's going to be a digital release.
Every new soundtrack they do is like a bonus gift of more Ghosts. Loving every second! Please NIN, it's been two years since you've been teasing the definitive Quake, With Teeth and Year Zero vinyl releases. Can't wait to add those to the collection.
lol, wasn't even trying. It's like this for me. There are so many superhero shows and movies, I can only watch so many, and Watchmen wasn't really on my short list, but now seeing Trent Reznor was involved in the soundtrack, I've changed my mind. I must watch it now. Happy to see my comment was entertaining tho 😊
@@johndonahoe7385 won't have much of an impact on you if you didn't at least read the comic, which is what the show is a sequel to. But give it a try, I guess.
@@peppermillers8361 I did long ago, and also saw the movie that came in the 90's I think. I remember the old movie making me think I forgot a lot lol. Guess we'll see.
This is the type of stuff I missed hearing, when listening to the "...Actual Events", "Add Violence", "Bad Witch" trilogy. This stuff makes me want to listen to more!
