Watchmen never stopped being hot for me, I re-read it annually and each time I find new elements within the story and art. I agree with Richard, if someone wants to read this series then they'll buy a trade collection. Good on you John, join me in the Warlord fan club. I read every issue from 10 to the end (I picked up the preceding issues soon after starting). The book has a range of enjoyable, non-Skartaris related backups too. I'd be interested to hear your views on the writing of #53 to #71, which were actually written by Grell's wife Sharon, although this information didn't come out until several years later. Thanks for reading my letter John, always a thrill - very chuffed. Your reaction to Marvel's Logan's Run mirrored mine precisely: what a bitter feeling when I found out that there would be no continuation after all. Farrah Fawcett sure, but Jenny Agutter was my hot teenage fantasy woman closely followed by another British beauty, Susan Penhaligon.

Hey John, Hey Richard, yes I am a Warlord fan. When I ran out of Warlord love I turned to Killraven. Oh how I loved Killraven. Bye far my favorite character. I think he was the first terminator. I wish his run would have been as long as Warlord. I started drawing because of Warlord. What a great comic book for a 13 year old. Keep it up. Mike from Michigan.

I've recently finished collecting Killraven's run on Amazing Adventures. I'm hoping it will be a good read!

On Warlord, do check out Excalibur 16 (published in 1989). With Nightcrawler doing his best Warlord impersonation on the cover and Kitty Pryde, Rachel Summers and an alien queen playing his consorts.

Richard..the modern Archie horror line is very popular and apparently in demand based on price guide values.

Infamous Ironman 1 introduced the Tony Stark AI John has it right. Brobst pronounced like Probst from Survivor. You got me, Richard. The Wolvie/Deadpool cover in their undies is definitely worth a pick up 😂 and I definitely jumped on the new Ghost Spider set when it hit his website. Love me so w Spider Gwen

I've seen many Warlord books in the dollar bin and have picked up a few mostly for the covers! I've recently finished picking up all the Killraven issues and am looking forward to reading them.

Great show as always. Warlord is a fun read - I have a trade paperback collecting the first several issues. I think Mike Grell is well respected but also underrated- great writer and artist. I picked up a 7 issue Starslayer “director’s cut” issues 1-7 from the 1990s that was an adventurous and dynamically drawn. Jon Sable Freelance is very entertaining as well. Regarding Archie, as I mentioned in viewer mail about 1-2 years ago about who buys Archie Digests, my daughter loves Archie- it is ideally suited for kids but also the inner child in all of us - just got her 2 back issues from the 70s and 90s this weekend from a local comic shop to read. The art is innocent, the stories relatable, and humorous- in essence entertaining!

Thanks for the cheering up about our hobby and another great episode. My LCS has just announced it is closing. The owner has put his heart and soul into the business but unfortunately the Australian Economy is not travelling to well (especially around discretionary spending). The Distributor shipping 'wars/split' has not helped international comic shops either. Support your LCS you will miss them when they are gone. On a lighter a note it was TV comics more than movie comics that got me into the hobby. Favourites being the Gold Key/Dell Photo covers. Green Hornet, Get Smart and Star Trek at the top.

Sorry to read about your LCS going under - anybody who operates a comics/pop culture store does it for love, not money. Mine seems to be doing okay (Kings Comics in Sydney, been with them for decades), but whenever I walk through the door I can't help remembering that Kings and Phantom Zone each had four stores operating in Sydney and Wollongong in the 90s. Now Kings is down to one and PZ is gone. The LCS sure feels like a threatened species these days

@@charliedogg7683 Thanks. I remember those days a great day out was Land Beyond Beyond, Comic Kingdom and Kings Comics all in the Sydney CBD

@@StarTrekStu The walk down that long bare corridor, the blue TARDIS doors and there would be Terry behind the counter at The Land Beyond Beyond, digging out my standing order for the week. I worked Thursday evenings/Saturday mornings at Woolies Town Hall and by 12.15pm Saturday I'd have spent my whole pay there. Really good memories, those.

I love the Magnetic cases for Raw books I have a Veronica 37 in a Newsstand in one and a Gargoyles issue 4 in a Newsstand in another It’s great for books that you want to keep nice but aren’t high dollar books It’s also great to bring Sketch covers to conventions or if you buy a nice wall book for $40 Speaking of Archie have you both seen the show Riverdale? It’s the wildest CW show I’ve ever seen If you thought Oliver Queen becoming the Spector was strange like I did the kids of Riverdale deal with everything from serial killers to organ harvesting cults

John. You assumed that viewers were familiar with the original Hate series. I stopped collecting in 87 and would randomly pick up issues of Bone, and The Darkness in The 90s. I had no knowledge of this title and ended up doing some research after watching your video. I lucked out and was able to pick up Hate Revisted 1 at my LCS. Thanks for bringing it up. Are there any other Indy’s series from the 90s that you would recommend? Milk and Cheese?

Woo! Thanks for the mention! Love watching and listening to you guys talk about comic books - a big inspiration in terms of starting up my own channel about comic book content. Raph = Raf in terms of pronunciation. Blast it, how could I have forgotten about Meteor?

How many people actually read comics periodically or just buy them to make sure they don't miss a hot book? I hate seeing videos of re-sellers who find a 100 long box collection and they pull like 10 books out of 3,000 and say they rest are worthless. Sad

Hi 👋 Yet another great show! I'm currently on a mission to actually put all of my books into the CLZ app. It's going to take forever.... 😪 I'm doing Quasar right now, so I checked out my #14. It's actually really nice, maybe a 9. I'm keeping it anyway, but it's good to know the value. 🫡
