Today I am repairing some old water damage and making some changes and upgrades while I’m at it. I’ll be swapping out some plywood braces with some metal angle. And I’m upgrading my water storage tank with a new design from Reliance. Repairs while traveling are always a little more difficult. But this repair went well.

My name is Scott and in 2015, I bought a Ram ProMaster City to live in. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time.
Over the years, I’ve learned you don’t need to have a big skill set to build your own campervan. And that living as a minimalist and utilizing solar power can be a less expensive way to live. I’ve also learned that a minivan can be a very comfortable home.
Please follow along as I document my journey.

Just an idea I wanted to share with you, can you use the left over angle iron to make a 45 degree brace from rear support to front of sink and still have room to pull out water container? Then you would have the support you desired when leaning on sink to get in and out. Just a thought.😉 Thanks for sharing. I also agree with you, what works for you is best for you.😂 I like simple.

I really like the way you have your home set up. It looks comfy in there. Also I watched a video where there were some kids outside your van and you flipped on your scare lights. I thought that was awesome as well to have those mounted like that.

I think one thing vehicle dwellers learn - or need to learn - is that they will probably change their "perfect" setup several times. I just finished another revision on mine - about the fourth time in ten years. I envy your circular saw and angle grinder.

Whatever works, works. I have never been big on what it ends up looking like as long as it does the job. Of course, I try to make it not look horrible, but doing things like soldering copper pipes together, as long as it is not leaking it is good. I do not try to compare my soldering jobs to the factory ones.

Hi Scott, I just çame across your videos the other day, you are very thoughtful in your van plans. You also have a very soothing voice, I watch a lot of videos, most are crafting in nature, (some of their voices drive me around the bend) but I do like to see how creative van dwellers are and to see what goes on in a life. You could do podcasts where the person reads a story. When we were looking up into your van, it appeared that your sink has a lip, right away I thought how you could put a removable piece is wood, like a 1X2 just wedged under it, when you felt you needed the extra support and remove it when you wanted the foot room, just a thought. Be safe and continue sharing your creativity with us. Thanks!
