whats up yall.
this is the pool project that had a big problem with water flowing over the wall like a water fall when we get heavy rains and destroying the pool. there's a new building project next door contributing to this in a big way. So we'll see whos fault it really is!
If you are a service company in landscaping or construction and are looking for someone to train you and your team HOW TO BUILD $100k-$1M Dollar SWIMMING POOL Projects send me an email at JonathanPortukalian@gmail.com

The easiest and cheapest thing is to install a trench along the property fence line.

12:03 just dig 2 holes 1 on each side of the sidewalk and use a power washer to bore through. Or use a garden hose taped to the 1nch pvc pipe to bore through. I use my power washer all the time for this
@jonport_

That’s one way. I have an air chisel that is made for doing stuff like that. It works beautifully, but I don’t think they know that.

You should try and catch the water before the wall. Probably along the bed
@jonport_
@jonport_ 29 дней назад
That’s what we’re doing about 10 feet away. We’re creating a long French drain.
@Spawn303

It’s the landscapers problem now. It’s their fault. Wow
@2wheel93
@2wheel93 Месяц назад
In my area when I pour concrete with a pipe under and a landscaper sees a pipe in the concrete they will use it as a sleeve so maybe he should of asked or maybe when project was going on if you were both there you could have mentioned hey don’t use this pipe for your irrigation I just think it’s different contractors not working or wanting to help each other out and just looking out for them selves I would have mentioned to the person hiring me either home owner or builder or even told the landscaper don’t use that pipe
@jonport_
@jonport_ Месяц назад
Hypothetically, the homeowner should’ve mentioned it to him. But he also could’ve thought ahead because when we first started the project he was there and we showed him exactly what we were doing so he had a good idea on what he had to do and he could’ve said something then, but most the time these guys don’t plan that far ahead.

Great job on the drainage issue. question on the fiberglass pool. How does it get to th job site its so over width for the roads at 16 or even 20 ft wide
@jonport_
@jonport_ Месяц назад
They haul it on a truck and trailer. Some times a semi. They have to have an escort for the oversize load.

You guys need to put a berm at the treeline that extends to to the woods behind the property. This is going to be a problem again. Go out there when its raining.
@jonport_
@jonport_ Месяц назад
That’s what we told him depending on how it ends up with what the builder does. Because the builder should be doing that in my opinion on his side, it was never a problem until he built up that whole lot.
@Spawn303

18:39 this landscaper is no good. Always not his problem. He shouldn’t have just assumed that drain was put in for ease for his job

I grew up in Ryan's (VOS) hometown of West Allis Wisconsin... And would like to know if the pools mechanicals were damaged by all of that mud?
@jonport_
@jonport_ Месяц назад
Thats awesome! Not at all. Everything works great. Other then cleaning a 1/2 of mud off the bottom of the pool everything is just like new.

He should have asked before running pipe through that one. He could have simply ran his next to that one under the slab. You handled it well I would have said get outta here and ill fix it myself.
@jonport_
@jonport_ Месяц назад
He definitely could have. He was on the job at the start, and we explained our plans to him so he had the opportunity to figure something out and didn't

When we do walkways we always put pipes under for lighting or irrigation. I've never put a pipe under for drainage. Normally the stone under does the drainage.
@Justthemow
@Justthemow 25 дней назад
Could have saved yourself some time and effort just throwing down a line of hay bails between the properties as a sorta damn to catch the runoff untill the build is over. I would maybe do it anyway because as the water flows down hill if you build up that wall it could follow the path down the stairs and into the pool from the fire pit.
@jonport_
@jonport_ 25 дней назад
Could’ve possibly. It definitely didn’t help that the homeowner waited pretty much the entire winter to do anything about the landscaping of which rains a ton over here in the Midwest during the winter.

Totally y’all’s pipe and any company that came in after you. Should communicate with you before they utilize anything they did not lay down themselves. It’s also not his place to tell you how to do your job. The issue with the irrigation line is his company’s issue and it truly wasn’t that huge of a problem, to be that angry about it. The fact that you put a contingency pipe in place. Speaks volumes to the professional way you run your company. The fact this irrigation guy just assumed your pipe was for him… Shows his unprofessionalism.

@beemerkon

Why is it your problem
@jonport_
@jonport_ 29 дней назад
Its not, is paying us to change it up to where when it rains again despite what the builders got going on it won’t happen again. I mean, ultimately the builder should be stopping the water on his side, but that’s a whole other deal.

Jonathan - You were missing the point on this one, the irrigation guy was having a difficult time explaining what he wanted to say, you should be diverting that way well before that wall.

@jonport_
@jonport_ Месяц назад
Maybe but thats the customers responsibly on this project and he came out when we first started to look at what we were doing and had every opportunity throughout the build to make sure he had access for his lines and what would be the easiest path for him. But most people don’t think like that.
