Thank you so much. Pulborough Brooks is a regular haunt along with the Warnham Nature Reserve, Arundel Wetlands and Pagham Harbour. Between them there is much variety and great photo opportunities. I think we are really blessed in Sussex with all the different locations on our doorsteps.
Yes, the adder is the only venomous snake here in the UK. They rarely attack humans unless provoked and it is quite a treat to spot one. I am 75 and have only seen three or four in my whole life and two of those were at Pulborough Brooks.
these things are tiny and live down near my dock on the Westport River here in MA.I occasionally have one under the leaves when I'm raking. I've reached down with my leather glove, the things recoil, bite my glove and hang on. I didn't know they had venom. I'm 61, and turkeys never were here until the 1990's, and i saw a mongoose ctach a snake and run away with it in my back yard.the thing you see if you pay attention. be well friend!@@SwanSycorax
