Water Shortage in Hua Hin...We have decided to leave.

There are many provinces where the water is depleted from the reservoirs ahead of schedule. If you own a house then you need to buy water from the local district during these phases It’s fairly normal and a way to keep wasteful water usage down. Water is cheap to buy in bulk so a very small inconvenience.

In Los Angeles here. I’ll be moving out to Bangkok at some point. I really get inspired by watching your journey!

Any life change is exciting. Your energy fits more with a city like BANGKOK and there is so much to do and see. Glad to maybe meet you there by 2025 because we are retiring and I will be in BKK to learn Thai at Chula University. I also love being in this big city, its contrasts, its modernity and the immense possibilities at all levels. Enjoy your time there❤

Great news for you. I’m thinking of a home in Bangkok as well for my move to Thailand. I love the energy level there as well and would move to that same general area instead of way outside the city. But I have found that most expats will try to talk you out of living in Bangkok so I’m glad to hear your views. I’ll follow along and hope it goes well.

I am in Jomtien now and was looking at possibly moving to your little Neighbour Cha Am, I am looking for a condo close to the beach within afew minutes walk. I don't have a car/scooter and that is the only concern I have. I am keen to see your mover details as while I don't have a lot of stuff, I do have way more than I did when I arrived and want to take it with me. i am so sad you leave HH where i should arrive in few months (stuck here until july) hope you have a cool life in BGK but i think pollution is worst there and it s a big deal for me , prefer to have the fresh air from ocean in HH.

I’ve been to Thailand a few times and felt comfortable there. I’m in Northern California, renting, have a small house in NV. Well the bank still owns it. I just put my truck for sale and the NV house soon. I don’t know why I am expressing all this to you. Thanks for listening. I like Hua Hin, but, like Chiang Mai and Bangkok more. I was considering Hua Hin as a place to retire. And I was concerned for the same reasons you decided to leave. So, I would still visit this year but it is definitely not being considered anymore. More I learn...maybe BKK is a good base to be at. But that air pollution just keeps me away. Thanks.

Come to the suburbs in the USA and take 20 minute showers with immense water pressure as often as you wish...

The air here in Hua Hin is much cleaner than Bangkok air. You considered the air pollution?

I don't actually follow vloggers, it's kinda painful especially the positive-toxic couples vlogs (not mentioning anyone... Shev and Dev 🤮) however my GF and I had considered moving to Hua Hin as it's the closest beach town to her parents in Rachaburi. It's got a lot going for it - especially for cycling. However I've been hearing about the water issues in Hua Hin (and also places like Samui) and with climate change it's only getting worse. We were down in Trat a couple of weeks back and 40+ heat is pretty unbearable without water close by. I personally prefer the Andaman side but Phuket is now a nightmare. Khao Lak is kinda fun and the diving at the Andamans is fantastic, but you need to be living up on the hills because there is the always present tsunami risk. So there is the ever present question of where to move to in Thailand where water isn't going to be an issue.
