#1 I;m 74 and just thought I'd like to try watercolor painting. I never tried before so I went to Walmart and got paint, brushes and paper for around $15. I'm having so much fun these last 2 weeks.i
If you are still enjoying it after these last two months go to an art supply store and buy some better paints for $30-50, and a pad of 100% cotton paper. You will be blown away by how much of a difference it makes!
I'm not a beginner. I've been a commissioned artist for over 50 years. I love your videos and find value in them. I hope you continue these types of videos and continue to encourage people to learn new things.
I'm 73 struggling with motivation post Covid-19. Your extreme beginners videos are absolutely perfect for me. Love the small scale. You make it doable rather than challenging. I am neither a newbie nor a commissioned artist, however, I cannot help but love your videos and recommend them. Regardless of where you are in your journey with this medium, going back to basics, keeping it simple, gaining confidence, finding joy and happiness, and Having Fun...to me are the recipe for a long reciprocated love affair with watercolor!!!

1-wow, I just learned so much. When I was about 10 years old, I was told to stop wasting paint. I'm now 63 and I decided to go for it, and I need to catch up on techniques. This is so helpful, I'm very grateful!

I'm in. I've been using blue painters tape that I stick to my pants a few times before holding and masking off my watercolor papers. So far it works in making it less sticky and less likely to tear my paper. Thank you, so much for helping us. You are a great teacher. Also a very calming voice. God bless you! ❤

I’m 54, just bought Gambai Tambi watercolors, I’ve only played around with them so far getting the feel of the brushes, doing swatch sheets etc. Now I can’t decide what I want to paint. I love how many people have RU-vid videos that really help us out! Thank you for doing what you do! 😊

I just started exploring water colours. I am doing each painting 4 times on each page over a couple of days. It lets me see where I need to improve and what a great comparison between each one!

I appreciate your style! I paid for a class and was taught light colors before dark (not a you must do it this way, but this was the technique taught) - going from acrylic to watercolor, this makes it easier to adjust! thank you

Using a common and inexpensive paint set to demo was incredibly helpful. It was way less intimidating than a palette of expensive or mysterious colors. I've painted with oils and acrylics for many years; I am just now branching into watercolors. I followed along and really enjoyed the painting. Thanks!
I love that he keeps the pallet in sight in the video and shows mixing the paints. As a beginner I have no idea how to mix the colors. Many videos just show a brush and an the paper.

1. Thank you so much Chris for this. What really helped me was seeing which colours you combine to achieve so many different shades. I hope you continue with this type of video. I have a few different paints, and the one you used here is one of them. Just the simple act of removing them, and placing them in the proper order of hues makes such a difference.
