Love the effect in the paintings...great demo...I was confused at first. I had to do a bit of googling to figure out what ox gall, etc was. I realize beggars can't be choosers, but a little more info would be helpful. Thank you for your wonderful demonstrations. I am fascinated by your work...so wonderful!
No ox Gall thank you. :) Besides the other two work wonderfully, love the little tendril effects. Can't wait to try, always loved blooms, but this is so much better and fun! Merci
You're my new favorite youtube channel not you, just the channel (joking silly me) I started art 2 years ago while I'm a lifelong musician I'd rather watch your work than most of the insane new music I don't watch...You're a great inspiration. That's Right Now Graham Elvis P.S. YOU have great taste in your music....
When you say 'pigment' are you talking about the watercolour paint? I've tried using my water colour paint and diluted soap and its not working and i can't figure out why. Do you have any tips? I'm a beginner so I'm still trying to figure it out :)
This is sooo cool... I have another one for you... I use this when I'm doing my horizon line on a river water, pond, lake etc... Put a tiny drop of Gum Arabic in with the water, then drop it on the color... It"s Beautiful effect
+Linda Navroth any kind of soap will work, but using shampoo for Baby, it's generally neutral ph and without damage for pigment. pure or a little bit diluted is just a question of viscosity, the result is the same.
+Umberto Rossini Excellent! Thank you. I just tried a very dilute dishwashing soap and it worked very well. I'll try the baby shampoo soon. I was able to get an effect I've been trying to achieve for a long time using the soap!
exellent ! made some very soft clouds with this ! question: do you ever use gum arabic ? i can't find much tutorials/documentation on this. keep up the awesome work!
+Umberto Rossini thanks for the fast reaction!, I use it too bind colors realy heavy and get a shiny look , but that what i have found out on my own , i know its the binder of the paint but i never seen tricks or tutorials on it; its still a mystery too me how i should use it properly
+Miriam Gardiner For the soap , it's easy. Just use a soap for babies because they often are with neutral ph ( no acidity) , that means that they will not affect your pigments. You can dilute a little. But you'll have the same physical effect with all the soaps.
Bonjour Umberto.
Asia... also try Gum Arabic too in your fresh water, then drop on to the color... especially the water line (horizon line) on a River, Pond.... "Thank you for sharing about the Alcohol... I"ll try that!!! ;)"
