So much information packed into this demo. The passion and knowledge you have for this medium inspires me ! Sincerest gratitude for sharing as much as you do.
Thank you, Angela, for another great lesson. The peony is fresh, loose, and absolutely gorgeous. You explain your thinking so well. I really liked how you added a third leaf area to finish the piece. You always use just the right amount of detail to complement the looseness.
I have wondered why those dark lines show up for the longest time. Thx for addressing the issue. I’ll have to re-listen till I understand how to deal with it! Love this video!!
I love to watch you start a painting; it's like watching magic beginning to appear as your brush strokes bring to life your subject. Absolute magic. Maybe one day I will see the same on my paper???
Wow! Not only is this a gorgeous flower, but the instruction you give is excellent. This is one of the best tutorials I have seen, Thank you so much for sharing your skill.
Thanks Angela! I've tried to paint peonies many times, and usually end up with an unhappy mess. Now I shall try again, using all the information you've shared.
You inspire me! I’ve been doing a water color painting for the past few months and your videos helps me a lot! I loved your style that makes water color standouts to other medium and makes it more fun doing it. Thank you so much! ♥️
Wow! What a beautiful painting. I loved hearing about the techniques and strategies you used to achieve this fresh, loose flower. You are such a good teacher and so generous in sharing your talent.
Thank you for sharing this video. The tip about building "suggested" form at different stages of the process and what to do for more control in those situations is invaluable! Always enjoy your attention to details of the process. I especially appreciated "the stop sign" as I am definitely a "fiddler" and have ruined more than one good painting that way lol.
Thanks so much. I need frequent reminders of the different ways to manage water when painting. My biggest challenge is to remember to blot the ferul after dipping in water to prevent drips.
This kind of teaching is really very useful to me. You are explaining things, I have thought about, f.eks. how the amount of water in the brush has influence on the backrun! Thanks a lot!
That is my biggest problem...too much moisture causing those horrid hard pigment edges. I will try to remember this tip every time I put paint and water to paper. thank you Angela!
Thanks Angela for another helpful lesson. Working on a few nasturtium flowers and if I decide I want a background, I know how to do it, without it looking like an afterthought.
I love watching you paint! Thanks for sharing your expertise! I tried something I saw you do in another lesson, and it was a disaster! I will keep working on this technique, though.
Angela, your description of the various situations and which type of juicy, neutral or damp brush to use was very helpful. I know you used your favorite Escoda rigger, but then did you switch to a 10 round for some of the detailing?
Hi Angela, I just asked you a question on another video a few days ago. Part of which was about using some DaVinci paint. I was asking about how well Holbein and DS play with each other, and you responded a day or so ago. You said you hadn't worked with Da Vinci. Now you have. I had to laugh when I saw your wonderful.....accent on the wonderful, sponsor, Cheap Joe's.............His American Journey paint is made by and equal to Da Vinci Artist paint. It works wonders with Daniel Smith, is less expensive, but remains rich and juicy. They are the same quality. Da Vinci is a smaller company out of California. They produce their paint in small batches and can be thought of as handmade like DS. Thanks again!
I really really gain so much from watching you and I want to thank you so very much. I have the Linda Kemp video but I was so intimidated that I never really used it. When you did this painting I thought, now that is interesting and I went on to watch your negative painting of your autumn leaves. I still have the remodeling to deal with but I am getting a stroke in here and there and I'm planning my next course with you. Eventually I'd like to take them all. You really pack so much encouragement and skill into each demo and class that it's always a win/win, even when things go wrong...........
This is beautiful! I love this style of watercolor! You mentioned a neutral brush vs. a juicy one..is a neutral brush a different kind of brush (like a different brand than the other you're using) or is it a brush that's not too wet or too dry that makes it neutral?
@@angelfehr well I love your painting style! I wish I lived close enough to you to learn from you! These videos help but an in person lesson would be out of this world!! Thank you for making these videos!!
