Hi. Love your article and also this video. I want to use gouache as an underpainting for a portrait that I will complete in water mixable oils, do you think that's a good idea?

Janice Scott I don’t think regular Gouache would be desired. It will keep moving with the addition of water. You can use Holbein Acrylic Gouache it dries permanent. Traditionally artist use Casin under oil painting.

@@ThePaintSpotEdmonton thanks so much for your speedy reply! I was going to let the gouache dry completely before putting the Cobra wm oil on top.. So are you saying that the gouache will reactivate once I start painting over it?
