Ricketts Glen is arguably the crown jewel in Pennsylvania"s natural landscape. Right up there with Cook Forest, Pine Creek Gorge, and I would say Ohiopyle. Nice twist on your typical video style...
To Walter: you certainly know your Pa state parks. One of my local favorites is Hickory Run State Park; the Boulder Field is a must see for outdoor fans.
This place never gets old ! Only 30 minutes from me . just past there at top about 4 miles is a state game lands rd that has lakes back in a mile or so you would like . i normally ride mt bike in there .

I remember hiking this place in the summer of 2014 - quite a physical hike, but worth the effort. It was a Saturday, so there were a lot of younger folk swimming in the pools.

Very nice, Cliff. If you are ever in the area again and feel like taking on a challenging hike, look up "Jeff Mitchell's Waterfall Wonderland" on midatlantichikes.com. It's right next to Ricketts Glen in State Game Lands 13. It features many impressive waterfalls similar to Ricketts, except there is no real defined trail and you certainly won't see many people there if any at all. Take care my friend and happy hiking!

I don't think you're crossing 118 there's a nice little waterfall there we use to swim at like a small canyon. And if you go to top of mountain past lake Jean there's a state game road about 11 miles long it actually the old Noxen lopez RR line very neat you'll find a spot where an old bridge crossed neat stuff.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 Please think about going in the future. Small but from what I remeber from my younger years is it carries a punch. The trails are nice also. Last time I went was in 1995.
