Ill take you on a tour of Buckhorn State park outside Necedah WI. Where the yellow river joins the Wisconsin river you will find excellent wildlife and birding viewing. Boating opportunities are endless.
I start with a tour of the family campgrounds, but then take you on the journey to see some of the bast tent camping sites I have seen in WI. I will show you the good sites, the best sites and some that might disappoint.

Thank you so much for making this. Just booked site 39 today. The photo on the states website was terrible. This was so helpful. Don’t be a cart 🐷! Very excited for our first camping trip at Buckhorn!

I just come across your channel last night. Watched Buckhorn and Long lake. I had forgotten how wonderful the Kettles were!! Can't wait to watch the rest of your videos. Very informative for sure. You even filmed the sites that I stayed at but couldn't remember what they looked like. I do 3 state parks a year so these videos should really help me to find those hidden gems of a site!! Keep up the awesome work!!

Beautiful spot! Too bad about the oak wilt. Between that and the emerald ash borer we are losing many beautiful trees.

I'm re-watching this video. You did a shot of lines going down tree bark-was that bear claw markings? Are there bear in that area? or maybe it was something else? How do you suppose the bugs might be in late June in this park?
@SconnyWandering
@SconnyWandering Год назад
As I recall, they had a bear trap set up on a trail behind the family campground. I can't realy speak to the bugs, bepends a bit in the year, but the water around the park is flowing water

Thanks for the video. Great job. I'm planning a trip there. Your video was very helpful. Is there any site on the water I can have my car near me?? Is it allowed to beach my boat over night if I'm on the water??

The first sites south of the family campground that I visited would be as close as you can get with a car. You would have to call the park about the boat rules

Love the video! Where was that sunset shot at the end taken?
@SconnyWandering
@SconnyWandering 2 года назад
I can not remember specificly where I caught the sunset, but any of the western waterfront sites or the beach would be good for that. Thanks for making it to the end

Did you check out sites 23 & 24 by the cabin. Did I miss it in the video?
@SconnyWandering
@SconnyWandering 4 года назад
I passed by those. The cabin was occupied at the time and they were out by the water.

Is there a beach in the walk-to sites 27 and 28?

Hi! I been here before! But I think their isn’t a beach but their is a river or a lake!
@SconnyWandering
@SconnyWandering 3 года назад
There is a beach for that series of sites. Those were the sites around the 10 min mark where I found the black line across the path and the toys left on the beach.
