Where is grouchy I need those mens where Is grouchy why do I have to do everything my self (dark smoke) Sire r u wounded sire you must ly down for an hour sire should I call the doctor I am alright it's just my stomach
Poor Ney, what he mustve thought, he thought that he finally got glory for france and himself, he wanted to be the very best, the most popular, he was the most ambitious, when wellington retreated he mustve been thinking that the victory has fallen into his emperors hands, i genuinely feel bad for him
I remember the part where one of the British soldiers just snapped, saying "We've never seen each other! Why do we kill one another! Why!!". That was a sad bit.
Yes because it shows that these young and impressionable men who have never met before, never met, don’t even speak the same language will shoot, stab, and blow each other up because old men told them to. Shows the true horror and sadness of war
The other choice for this young unknown british gentleman was to be commanded by a french dictator-emperor that he never saw either. The inseparable siblings War & Politics have this bizarre abstract but realistic element to it.
The Ney Charge wasn't disastrous...it ended in a draw with the British Army and French Cavalry devastated. Theoretically the French Cavalry could have been more useful against the Prussians but Ney's Charge ensured La Haye Saint was isolated so it could be captured by the French.
I was playing Ney in total war multiplayer Waterloo battle. I did exactly what Ney did, I charge with all my cavalry, I lost almost everymen but we won the battle in the end!
Except for the Fuzzy Wuzzies of whom Rudyard Kipling wrote, "Then ere's to you, Fuzzy Wuzzie, the missus an the kid; we was sent to break you, so we went 'n did. We sloshed you with Martinis, an' it wasn't ardly fair. But for all the odds agin you Fuzzy-Wuz, you broke the square."
@@axcelis6188 That doesnt make much sense, artillery is correct. You destroy the enemy battalion first by shooting down their cohesion with vollies of artillery fire. But idk anything about Ney so...
@@kevinsworldK.w69infantry support helps them break up the square formations. The riders will keep the infantry busy while the infantry focusses on the squares one by one. When a square breaks formation you punch trough the back with cavalry. Hammer and anvil.
Considering Tora Tora Tora, this, battle of Britain, and I believe Zulu, and midway all were flops. CGI will always be the choice studios take because now it's even cheaper than practical. Even Dunkirk used a lot but hid it
I realized, during this scene, that I should be amazed by the grandeur of the battle, but all of that CGI in more modern films had spoilt me rotten, it seemed normal.
I mean if they are retreating you do charge cav to drive the advantage back home but Wellington wasn't retreating so it was messed up, matter of fact it wasn't messed up, it was kind of a tie, because of neys cav charge la haye saints was abandoned by a bunch of men and in doing so, putting la haye in the emperor's hands
Miscommunications by the French army let the Prussiens and the British retreat northward so they can keep communications, and because of rain napolean delayed his attack by hours, wellington sure was a lucky bastarr
@@cengiztaner4754 Indeed, Sir, but the idea of a square formation of infantry with musketeers prepared to repel a cavalry attack was first carried out by the Spaniards in the 16th century.
@@jonasmejerpedersen4847 Absolutely mate. The spanish tercios are one of the best armies in world history. Cheers to you, dutchman. (Youre dutch, right?)
lol the desc is so real, is that a patriot reference???? well not a patriot reference since waterloo is earlier than patriot so... waterloo reference of the patriot's battle of cowpens?????
