Plastic balls I think simplify things at least on straight forward oil patterns. If you think about it, if you throw a straighter shot there seems to be less that can go wrong. A 1% deviation or miss with your hook is a lot less than say a 1% deviation or miss with a reactive ball in terms of movement across boards and where you hit the pocket.

Have you ever seen that trick shot where someone has one ball in each hand and throws them both at once to make the 7-10? You could do that except throw each ball down a different lane (lanes 2&3 for example so the ball return isn’t in the way) and keep score separately for each hand. You could even challenge Forrest to the first ever 2v2 match - just add up both your scores against both his scores.
