Cantt think of any other mastert as inspiring and motivating as Jeff. Hopefully I will be able to attend the 23 Illustration bootcamp if it goes or go up for a term. Such a blessing this school.

It would be awesome to show the watts teachers progress from their first crayola scribbles to now i think. And it would give some of us hope hahaha

At some point we can do that for the teachers. We've got some stuff in the works of students that have gone from their first scribbles to high ability. If you keep an eye on our instagram/newsletters you'll see a notification for it when it comes out.

If I had a great passport and loads of money, I would travel to the USA and live in that art building. I would pay Jeff rent and sleep there while Jeff taught me everything.

For future students taking watts online. Beware that gouache phase 1 in their curriculum doesn’t teach color theory or even color mixing. That is the most fundamentals you need to learn first. Go to any high quality art school they all have foundation year just painting the exact color in a square. Just be careful with this online schools

In gouache Phase I it's all about handling the medium. Of course, every one is different in their learning approach, but if you have a strong sense of value then your ability to judge color will be easier. Even at the brick and mortar school we rarely run color theory classes. Mostly, we prefer a method of teaching where you see color used in a practical sense through teacher demos and example, rather than classes on color mixing and theory. We do go over color mixing as it relates to the Zorn palette in Portrait Phase II to see the range that the 4 color palette can get. But of course, it is all people's learning preference. If someone feels that they need some color theory to help them understand it a bit more that is totally okay.

Jeff, this is a most wonderful video. I was very inspired at your words and presentation as you carried us through your commitment to your art journey from past to present with all the adventurous 'ups and downs' along the way. Your love and passion for artistic expression and your sincere encouragement to artists everywhere to be the very best that we have within us, came directly from your heart. I certainly felt it. Yes, we are all, as you said, standing on the 'shoulders' of masters and giants from past to present. You are certainly in that 'line-up'.
