Great chat guys!! In my opinion the difference between video and photo storytelling is that a video will tell you the story of what actually happened but a good photograph will leave you imagining your own story. The viewer creates their own "beginning, middle and end" which I also think is fantastic as one photo can lead to thousands of different stories depending on the viewer.

Love that analysis, I think that’s a really good perspective as well and does a good job of expanding what might be meant by “story” with both, no wonder why I’ve brought you on before 😉

I enjoyed your interview of Watts Wildlife. I really enjoy your show. I was thinking I would like to enter your contest but I don't know if I am good enough. I was was thinking sadly about last year when Bayoujosh was a judge. He has totally disappeared from RU-vid and no one knows why. We loved his show and keep hoping he will be back. Do you know what happened to him? I hope they are okay.

Thank you! And you never know till you try ☺️ but yea Josh is doing okay! I don’t talk to him much but occasionally, he has just slowed down on Wildlife Photography and stopped the channel, but he is okay

That information about the algorithm was interesting as I am a passive watcher, I do not think too deep what gets me to watch a video, but I do watch some because I follow them but many of them are random and I guess are fed to me by the algorithm. I quite enjoyed your discussion about different characters in a story. One of the things that does not appeal to me in any wildlife photography is being with a bunch of people shooting the same thing at the same time, being around that many people I might as well be at a zoo, no thanks. But thinking about your discussion it does allow an out by considering that we all see things differently.

Glad you enjoyed the conversation! I agree with you typically on the second part of your comment. Usually I’m not big on shooting side by side with others, so Yellowstone was a unusual experience for me, however, it was definitely worth doing for once in a year and specifically shooting with Evan was awesome. It’s a whole different experience then alone though ☺️
