Started developing my first video game. This video along with the scrivener alt vid have been very helpful! Will be using this for organizing my project and ideas. Like button smashed.
Nice overview. Wavemaker has a nice simple design with good features. This could be very useful for beginning writers who need an easy way to write their story with practical organization options. I'm going to try out a side project on it and see how that goes.
Back with my thoughts! I've been working with Wavemaker for the past few days and these are the things I've worked with my personal impressions: Grid Planner: Really nice and works for me visually because it emulates my sticky notes system. Very user friendly with all the features (adding a rows/columns and moving the cards around specifically). I used this planner the most in setting the project up. Snowflakes: Good for working out basic ideas, my only complaint is having to delete the first card once you've created the next level of details. Timeline: It's nice but didn't work well for me since I was unable to find a way to go back to add things to early portions of the timeline that had been created. Also, I prefer horizontal over vertical for my timelines. Still, it's good to keep track of important plot-moving events. Planning Board: Another good feature because I could put up a couple of cards/notes as reminders of important things for the section. Very usable for me. Mindmaps: I didn't try out because I'm too chaotic to use one. :D Overall, I really do like the features available and the simplistic design is very easy on my eyes and brain. @@eniawrites
I really appreciated this review. It convinced me to use Wavemaker and actually helped me learn to use it. By the way, I figured out what the Toggle Wordcount Visibility button really does. It isn't supposed to hide the word count. Instead, it removes the current document from the total word count. This is useful for documents like acknowledgements or appendices that you wouldn't want inflating your word count.
This review is good. However, I have a problem. Following the instruction given in this video I installed Wavemaker on my Windows 10 laptop. When I opened the Wavemaker app, there was a red colored pop up notification inviting me to install Wavemaker 4. So I clicked on it and found that Wavemaker Cards was installed on my laptop. Now I am confused. Which of the two, Wavemaker or Wavemaker Cards, should I use for writing my novel?
