This is a beautiful song, and K'Naan actually deserves all the fame he gets from it. Unlike all the shit on the radio that is just auto tuned talking with a catchy beat, this guy is really singing. And it's about something. An to top it all off this acoustic version is a great combination of 'ethnic' instrumentals complimented by more modern hip hop dynamics. Love it.

Honestly, when I listen to rap (I love music and am trying to express myself through it as well) I see just a money making ambition. K'Naan has no monetary ambitions, at least from what I feel. I can, as a man, cry with this man's songs because of the memory it brings from my own life. This is what music should be nowadays instead of "EWW CRANK DAHT SOLJYEAH BWAUY"

honestly i heard this on the world cup, but later found out it was a remake of a song, and have now fallen in love with this version.
