@@---ej8tq Well here is the issue, if you try to slide something with moderate force across a sidewalk the bumps in the sidewalk stop it quick, now imagine if you take that same object and force and slide it on ice...... it slides further right? Because ice has less friction and wont grab the object to slow it! So in space as they move this flag to place it there is no air and very little gravity to effect this, so little friction that it would continue to wave back and forth longer then it ever would in atmosphere. If there was a wind it wouldn't wave so stiffly either, it would be whipping around like one would expect a flag to.

Actually if you go tk the kennedy soace center they have the full moon display they used to fake the landing all out on display, lunar module and all. Many of the staged videos and photographs were accidentally released, NASA had staged these before hand as they were uncertain of lunar communications being able to send video back to prove it. So the conspiracy theorists were actually correct, some of the moon footage you see is in fact fake.

Correct. The Apollo 11 flag moves when the astronauts are assembling and moving it and stops when they stop moving it. The flag had a pole cross the top to make it appear like it was flying as if on Earth. The best counter to the conspiracy is the fact that Russia never revealed it as fake. They were the biggest rivals in the space race and sure would look extremely careful whether the mission transmissions came from the moon or not
Yes, indeed. I have often asked that and never gotten a good answer other than another conspiracy theory that there was no cold war/space race/revelry between USA/USSR/China etc, they were all in on it. I usually shut off my brain at that point and lie down in fetus position and rock myself side to side hoping it was all a bad dream.
Not if they faked it too at the time. Anything can be faked but all anyone has is trust that it was real , nobody and I mean literally nobody can prove it was real besides NASA and they are dead silent on basically all matters so nobody has a single clue what's real here. It's possible they did it, but why not have more footage, maybe a video of the travel to the moon. Since we have been several times since then. Nothing here provides trust, which is essentially all this is, we either trust they did it or they didn't. Not only did Russia never reveal its fake but we took over 2200 rock samples and sent them all over the globe in part to prove it to the international community.

He doesn't get the fact the still from the video is blurry, meaning the video has been compressed over and over, YT was compressing videos in 2005 and they were nowhere near today's quality. I told him to find the original video, the one filmed by the guy who was there. I told him some cameras couldn't catch details of a fast traveling object (over 500 knots, that's overspeed), I told him to ask the thousands upon thousands of New Yorkers who saw the planes, especially the second one, the roaring of the engines. The flag moves because someone touched it. And since there is no air to slow it down, it behaves like a pendulum and keeps on moving for a time. They just pick a snippet where it does just that. First off I want to say that I believe we’ve been to space and have gone to the moon, but its pretty well known that this was filmed in Laurel Canyon, on an Air Force base sound stage. That base is essentially where most U.S propaganda was created/filmed. Even if we did go to the moon, it doesn’t matter, we had lost the space race years before this took place. The US did not want to seem technologically inferior so they had these created. I believe that since then, we have gone to space, I just don’t think our first time was in the 60’s. I know it’s tempting to believe everything the powers that be tell you to think, but you won’t get in trouble for doing research.

Nowadays rovers do all the exploring of the surface, why should we send more people out there and have them have to deal with the physical consequences of being in space that long just to have them go to the moon where there's really not much of anything of importance besides dust and moon rocks? That's both cost, time, and resource consuming as well as putting humans in possible danger. There's no reason for that when there's basically nothing to be gained. The rovers do the work out there. Mars is the current goal.

My mom believes the moon landing was faked, and this is one of her most used points… I tried explaining this but with no proof (or practical way to show her- THANK YOU FOR HAVING THAT MAGNIFICENT DEVICE!) that the flag would still flap, and if anything, with less gravity and no drag or atmospheric resistance to slow down the inertia of the flag from them wiggling it it would continue to flap even after they stopped jamming it into the ground… She still remained unconvinced.

@@ronaldgreene5733 a still photo every 30 seconds isn't at all a high number. Teen girls in a bathroom mirror will take a few hundred in a matter of minutes. A wedding takes like 2 hours, yet 1 photographer will fill a book with photos, and that's after leaving out all their shots that Didn't turn out. They had video cameras to pull stills from, as well as photo cameras for specific shots. Pre-digital age photographers would take multiple photos of the same thing, to make sure at least 1 came out. If you've ever used a manual focus film camera, you'd understand that double-tapping the shutter button is totally normal. Some cameras were even set up to take multiple shots of the same thing at the same time. It's not like NASA was sending them up with Fujifilm disposable cameras. they had cameras specially made, specifically for lunar photography

We should debunk them anyway. I mean think about it, if we can’t prove to ourselves it’s real to begin with then how could we possibly tell anyone else it’s real? It’s also a great way to better understand the mysteries of space.
You can’t argue with these guys. I joined the official flat earth discord. Disproved every point they made and they even said they would shut down the discord if I did that. And then they said I can’t prove any of it and kicked me
Most online flat earth communities have trolls among them. You’ll never have room for a real discussion because someone will always escalate the situation for their own entertainment, and those communities happen to be rigged to allow it. Most of the people there are for real by the way, but there always some trolls trying to escalate the situation and making the discussion and behaviour inside the community as ridiculous and silly as possible until they inevitably get banned when they mess up. This is how we have parents thinking team fortress 2 is a satanic videogame because some idiot online said so.
@Lead Right, wrong, true, false... None of that is real. Truth is entirely based on perspective. Show them a "fact" of yours? They don't have to believe it. You think your belief is the truth? There's always gonna be another truth out there. God is real, science is true, the earth is flat, the moon landing was faked, every belief, through that perspective, is truth. "they truly think they are right and try to suppress those who are 'wrong'" well, the EXACT same could be said about YOU.
@Lead Evidence according to the holder of one theory does not apply to every theory, and the evidence provided by a random drunk guy is valid _to him specifically._ Bringing us back to the fact that truth relies ENTIRELY ON PERSPECTIVE. Scientists see god the same way that we see a flashlight eye pig, but christians see god the same way that the drunk man sees the flashlight eye pig. Everyone has theories, opinions, beliefs, and feelings. Be civil and respect them. but I can't convince you of anything... and I shouldn't try to. If none of this matters to you, then so be it. You have the right to your beliefs and there is literally nothing wrong with that.
Russia even came out after the space race and verified that it would actually be harder to fake the moon landing than it would be to actually go there at the time
The Soviets would have every reason to do everything they could to prove that the moon landing was fake if it was.. but they never attempted it. The fact that tinfoil hat wearing middlr aged high school dropouts think they could do something not even Soviet Russia would be able to do
My only wish is to see a sucessful moon landing, in hd, in my lifetime. Mars landing would be even better but as someone who hasn't experienced the moon landing, it would be the greatest thing ever.
Hopefully artimus happens but luckily uncle Joey is a big supporter of artimus and increased nasas budget, the moon landing is going to be on lunar starship which is 50 meters tall and has more interior volume than the international space station, so not only will you get hd footage but you will also getting the biggest lander ever in frame.

@@WasatchWind I don't put too much stock into what Elon Musk says. The only thing he's ever seen to completion is SpaceX out of his zillions of empty ideas. Tesla was a company that he bought after the owners were killed in a plane crash. We might have some setbacks in space travel in a couple years - you should check what NASA and ESA are saying about CMEs in the next few years.

Three, the new commercial space industry is more than just SpaceX. SpaceX has undeniably changed the entire spaceflight landscape. They are making incredible innovations and are changing the way that NASA, other space agencies, and old space companies operate. Elon saying some nonsense about doge coin on Twitter should not represent the amazing work of everyone at SpaceX. Further there are so many companies like Rocket lab, Relativity, Firefly, and Astra that are all building rockets of their own, and revolutionizing space flight. Look into all of this. It is more than just a small thing that NASA and Roscosmos are at alone. (and why should Musk get zero credit for his work at Tesla? He's done an immense amount of stuff in the more than ten years he's been at the company).
Basically you are correct that the flag oscillates when it is provided with energy but it is not actually gravity that causes it to oscillate but the energy supplied by the astronauts when they shake it and move the flag pole. Take care.

People are missing the point. It's said that the NASA built an exact replica moonscape in a desert facility to practice. It's fact. They did. Also created was a large scale replica model of the moon with a lander that was filmed approaching to give an idea what it would look like. You can source pictures on the net. I suggest you look it up. Whose to say that the flag waving is really happening. Why? Because the shot where the flag was planted by the Astronaut was filmed in an open studio. And there's one thing NASA couldn't control was the weather. And no matter how much planning was done, baring in mind it was allegedly filmed live to a world audience, could they prepare for a change in weather. But say if the studio was closed and it was a controlled environment. It would only take someone opening a door the other side of the studio to change the pressure in the building for a gust of air to be formed moving the said flag even though weighted down to give the appearance it was in a vacuum. Ever opened a door in your home and doors upstairs would either slowly close or slam shut. Same principle.

The oscillated as expected when the astronauts moved them during assembly then remained motionless when the astronauts did not interact with them. Unless you believe in a "magic wind" that only appears when an astronaut interacts with a flag then disappears when the astronaut moves away......6 missions in a row. Take care.
Oh I thought inertia is majorly caused by the air surrounding the object but it's actually not. Inertia works the same or if not more effectively in space itself, now as I saw it
Just a heads up, you can't have a vacuum next to a gas without a container. Thats about all he proved in this video. Our atmosphere would be sucked away.
Their problem is they don’t think about what they’re saying. It’s all fine saying there’s no wind in space, but then they’re saying that there’s wind in a studio. EDIT: I understand you can fake wind, it admittedly was an awful example. My point was that flat earthers frequently say things, not realising that the implications of what they're saying are far more ridiculous and unfounded. And yes, I have realised that me criticising people for not thinking about what they're saying while I'm not thinking about what I'm saying is kind of hypocritical.
@@joshua4987 without watching the video again I couldn't say why I said that specifically, you could create a wind effect in a studio. My main point was they say things are wrong without realising that it being wrong would lead to conclusions that are even more unplausible.
Humans are not bees or flies. Bees always have something to be doing, because unlike humans, they have to focus on surviving at all times. Flies are also completely capable of eating honey, however some have offspring in feces specifically because other animals aren't going to eat it. Conspiracy theorists, however, get no benefit out of "eating" their shit, and are too egotistical to switch to honey.
