When I first started I had no idea either, and that is how I ended up with that destash, that to me, smelled like cigarette smoke. I had to repackage almost everything in it! I think we almost all have bad destash stories…it is hard sometimes to figure out what is good and bad!

Another great video from you! I'm thinking of buying de-stash. And I also joined some of de-stash groups on Facebook. Because I never try vendor wax before, just some candles from big companies. So I figured that buying a de-stash maybe a good idea to try different wax vendors. And I like your voice by the way, and the speed you talk.

One thing you should address is never sending a payment as PERSONAL for destashes. I've seen a couple destashes here on YT request people send the payment as "personal" but what a newbie might not know is that if the seller decides not to follow through you have absolutely NO leverage with paypal. You are basically out your money. There are only a handful of people I trust enough that I would send payment as "personal".

You know I thought about what happened yesterday and I firmly believe that a person should be able to sell their wax for whatever price they like. I as the buyer have the choice to buy or not. Think about other commerce $200 for sneakers, $1,500 for a belt. You should know what your buying including wax. People can say no that's too much and then move on. But if I still wanted to buy it then so be it. I may have hit the lottery and had some extra cash. LOL You know what I mean.
I know what you mean! I just want to have everyone be an educated buyer, and if they want to pay a premium price, then that is between them and their bank account! I know on eBay I have paid way over for things I really wanted, but it was something I wanted, and I knew that it was way over the price, but I went into it with knowledgeable and with my eyes open. So hopefully we can all educate ourselves, spread the info, and then people can do what they want!

I'm still a nail polish addict and now I"m also addicted to scented wax! so far I've purchased from Candles by Victoria, Vintage Chic Scents, and Grumpy Girl, which is terminating its creations of wax items. :( I'm considering a whole bunch of other vendors, and I discovered your channel by searching youtube for reviews. Great video! The regional b box is a much better deal than the medium flat rate box. It is a hair smaller than a large flat rate and ships for several dollars cheaper than a large flat rate and most times cheaper than a medium flat rate. :)
I do not think I have EVER seen a Regional B box…when I was editing the video, I was like, Wait, that's not a large flat rate, LOL! I may need to check those out, especially since it is only a tad bit smaller than a large flat rate ! The amount of boxes USPS has is insane!
I know! They have a ton of different types of priority boxes. I think they do a LOT of business in the priority category because of the boxes being free. ( Well I am sure the cost of the boxes is calculated into the shipping price) :-D
I really like the appeal of them as well…kind of like the appeal of a mystery box from a vendor! As long as I was getting it from someone I trust, I would be all over it!
Would you mind sharing what destash groups you belong to? I'm part of a couple that I think are the larger ones, but I don't see that much good stuff going through. And most seem pretty high on price. Awesome video!!!!
Some of the smaller ones do not have much going on, one destash a couple days. The destash that I bought that I was not happy with was from one of the smaller groups, so I definitely recommend going to one of the bigger ones.
I have a question... Not about buying but selling.... Is it okay to sell something if it has a piece missing? Like a clamshell is it okay of there is a piece missing? Also I've bought a few destashes and I would recommend not buying one that's in a bubble mailer if you don't want the wax looking like crap lol because it's going to be (not the sellers fault... It just gets smashed in transit) I didn't really mind because I'm going to melt it no matter what... Well so long as it still smells good haha. Anyway awesome video. :) newer people should definitely watch this it's very helpful.
I will say I mail in bubble mailers and I put a piece of cardboard on the bottom and top and use bubble wrap. Its a cheaper way to ship and I can fit almost 4 lbs in it! Tape is my friend :) I have asked people how it arrives and I have been told that its great. OR a small flat rate box fits inside too
sayitintheam , I would say that it is fine to destash stuff where there is something missing (a couple cubes from a clamshell), as long as it is disclosed. Most people seem to be pretty good about saying that. I have also seen people email stuff in the bubble mailer, but there is a box inside for extra protection, which is a good idea for sure. The protection of a box with the cost of an envelope!
