Pete & I loved this! Pete remembers the Nuwax commercial. Such a pleasure to watch your videos with the added pop ups and your humor. We remember you shining up your very first truck and then the neighbors and our car with perfection! Great job!
Karen Szemenciak oh yeah! I was a busy boy back in the days waxing cars. lol! I remember doing the Honda and that thing looked awesome!!! Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching guys!
Back in the day, my father and I would use this on his truck before the winter snow in the mountains, it was recommended on the bottle that you put on one coat and 30 days later for best results you put on the second coat and the shine would last a year and it did, as a matter of fact, I use it on my truck, I put the first coat on in October 1 and the second coat on in November 1, during the cold winter months I don’t have to concern myself with the shine, just wash and dry and it shines. I love this polish, it has so many memories for me.
I used to use this early 2000s. I purchased two bottles when I was in the states. We could not buy this in the UK and I now use other detailing products. However, I will say it was a great product. Always apply with a damp pad and allow to haze dry. Wipe off. As you said the trick is not to apply too much. I used it on bodywork, plastics and glass. It provided a great shine and beading power back then. Its bonus back in the early 2000s no powder when you wiped it off. Today of course most waxes behave that way with no powder. I always remember it having a very strong almost diesel aroma. Not sure what this version of NU Finish smells like. You did a great job and it certainly has a very impressive shine.
Andy Abraham thanks a lot Andy. NU finish is a classic car wax! Can’t go wrong with the price either! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more realistic detailing by subscribing to the channel! Thanks again!
I love Nu Finish was its all I use on my Vehicles. (2021 Kia Sportage EX AWD, 2010 Ford Fusion SPORT) both are a silver metallic color and both look showroom sharp still! I do my rockers, door jams, wheels and everything where rust could be an issue and never any rust issues. This product not only gives it a great detail but awesome protection as well from any elements. No wonder it's been around for decades! Nice Tacoma too btw I love it definitely my next truck once my lease is up! Great review 👍
Thanks a lot Matt! Appreciate the positive feedback! Nu Finish is an awesome product. You won’t be upset about having a Tacoma either! You’ll wonder why you didn’t get it sooner lol! Thanks for watching!
Hahaha PABON YOU DA MAN!!! I started this channel the year after your class graduated! Been growing ever since! How’s life treating you lately? Waxing your car?
I just applied Nu Finish to my Toyota (8/17/2023) and it did not "stain" any black plastic trim. I forgot when I bought this bottle, probably 5-8 years ago. Sure, the stuff found its way onto the trim, but it came off just by gently rubbing it off. I remember old bottles (10-20 years ago) that it was a pain to remove Nu Finish from black trim pieces.
When I was a kid, I found a bottle of this stuff in our garage, and for some stupid reason, I poured most of it down an outside drain. I did that about a decade ago, and there's still white residue of the polish on the drain grate to this day.
Haha it’s impressive stuff! I recently found a bottle of this stuff from 2008 on a shelf! It’s made by the older manufacturer! I heard it lasts even longer! Gonna give it a whirl! Do you still use this wax?
@@GarageGear No, my dad doesn't use Nu Finish anymore. At the time of the story I just told you, my dad had an older car (which now actually belongs to me) with some faded paint, so he waxed it often to stop the paint from fading further. He got a new car in 2014, and today he uses Meguiar's wax.
That’s funny. It reminds me of a story when I was probably about 9 I had a cd and spilled a bottle of aftershave on it and I could still smell it for a good 15 years.
Whenever I get a "new" car, I put nu finish all over the insides of the car, like the areas of the door that are exposed when you open the door, under the hood, under the trunk lid. It keeps those metal areas from rusting, and lasts years and years because it's not splashed by water, or hit by direct sunlight. Thanks for making this video! The music was cool, too!
Hey Jim, great minds think alike! I do much of the same! Those areas can rust up quick if they don’t receive some attention. Thanks for the positive feedback! I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
@@SpookyscarySayge nufinish will help prevent future rusting but will not alter or fix your current rust situation. Once it’s there it’s there! Thanks for watching!
I've been using this for a ages now, maybe 20 decades. I just did my BP Mazda3 hatchback pearl white snowflake last weekend and the pearl in it sparkles after a Griot synthetic clay bar and Nu Finish. I'm going to rewash it with some Chemical Guys Mr. Pink foam cannon, add another layer of Nu Finish and top it off with some Mother's ceramic spray detail. After that, car washes should be easier since everything will bead right off. Do it before winter and the snow glides off. I use a condiment squeeze bottle from Dollar Tree and fill it up with Nu Finish, easier to apply, no glob. Same for car soap in the foam cannon. It's 2 for $1.25 now and not $1.00, thanks Joe Biden. Mr. Pink is $40 plus tax, can't afford to spill it.
For the small price, this is truly a great wax !!!! I have used wax costing twice as much ( ceramic ), did not turn out as nice as nu finnish. Just find a really soft cloth to wipe off the wax once it drys
Thanks for this video! Liked and subscribed. Question: Because Nu Finish is a polish and contain abrasives, does it leave micro scratches on your car's paint job?
@@GarageGear How is it to drive? I just Nu Finished my 19 Ram Today. Went to trade it in last week on a 21 Tacoma TRD sport with every option you could put on it and test drove it down the street and brought it back. It was probably the most uncomfortable truck and no mater how I power adjusted the seat couldn’t make it work for me, feel like one would have to be shorter than 5.9 to drive one. I have 10k on my Ram, but don’t think I could have driven the Tacoma 10 miles, a trick I’m missing. My salesman was like 5.5 and assured me it’s very comfortable.
Love this video. Simple, clear, and to the point. Thanks. One of the best videos I have watched on this subject. An honest guy! Kuruksetra das Austin Texas USA Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
I use Turtle Wax Ice Polish, or whatever they call it now. It's clear synthetic and you can use it on glass, rubber, plastic, paint, aluminum, etc.......best of all no white residue stains ever.
Reminds me of an infomercial in the 80’s for a wax called Auri. I think it showed someone lighting the hood of a Rolls Royce that had been treated with the wax and of course it did no damage. The products that stick around are usually because they work like NuFinish.

How much of the bottle did you use / have left after finishing the Tacoma? I bought this after watching your video and am looking forward to waxing my Corolla next month.
There’s something satisfying about washing and waxing your car by hand. Can’t wait for warmer weather to come, so I can go out and do it on my car rather than going to a car wash.
Walter big step up huh? I haven’t really gotten into ceramic coatings. Mainly because I’m cheap lol 😂 many that I see are pretty expensive. Friends of mine have tried them. I’m a big fan of consistently waxing the vehicle mainly because it forces me to look at the condition of my truck’s paint surface on a regular basis. Maybe down the road. We’ll see!
That’s a good question Luis! My all time favorite has to be the Meguiars original NXT wax. That’s out of date now so I’d say it’s the NXT 2.0 Wax. Easy on and even easier off. Thanks for being a cool fan. Luis!
Works well. Water beads up and rushes off of them. And it prevents your headlights from deteriorating/fading! Been doing it for years without a problem. Thanks for watching!
Looks good Buddy... i've got a 2006 Ford F150... use nu-Finish twice a year... my question is I had some rust... Fixed it... but niw gave some painted areas... how does Nu-Finish do on those area's... do you know
Hey Mike, if it’s got a layer of clear coat over it it should be just fine. If not test it in a small hidden area to see how it turns out. Let me know how it works out for ya! Thanks for being a fan of the channel!!!
I just bought a new Jeep yesterday and need something to protect the white paint. I’m going to use it after my first wash. No need to clay right? I want something simple to use like you said I don’t want to be there for hours detailing my car lol
Hey Ivan, there shouldn’t be any need to clay the Jeep if it’s brand new. This is a great wax and you won’t be there long with it! Let me know how you like it! Thanks for watching! 👍
@@GarageGear just watched the video and subscribed to the channel. One last question if I wax my car and 6 months later use a different wax will that be ok?

@@tonytavares6749 I actually use a number of things but most don’t seem to last long. I usually use automatic transmission fluid to shine up my black trim. Works great and super cheap. Everyone thinks it’s armorall.
I have been using this product for years. The Paste is very hard to work with and the cream works just as good! Now they have a ceramic spray that came out this year! I will try it out! But really I don't think it will be any better than the polymer cream in the orange bottle.
Nothing beats the classic! It just works and lasts! I’d be willing to try the spray the ceramic spray but the original will always be a favorite of mine. Thanks for checking out my channel Joe!
@@GarageGear Hate to admit it. When reed-union owned nufinish, it was great and lasted a long while. However, now it is owned by energizer and the formula is different, it doesn't last as long as it used to.
The new version definitely is not as good as the old one. The new one still beads water up for a bit tho! If I’m ever at a garage sale and see a bottle of NU finish for sale I’m grabbing it! Chances will be good it’s an old one! Lol
@@GarageGear that is true Sir. Also I live in Arizona. And it's hot 🔥 and dusty here. I wanted to get more protection before the summer really heats up.
I always have used nu-finish in the past. The last two bottles we used on my wife, daughter, and my car was horrible. I used to get 6 to 8 months. Now we are not getting even 2 months of protection before there’s no water beading. Energizer has obviously changed the formula after they bought it and this is now a mere shadow of what is used to be. I hate to say it but I’ve moved on.
Good question Pal! You’re better off washing it right before you wax it. I have taken my old truck through a car wash in the past and then after a very quick drive home I waxed it. If you go through a car wash and then get it home right away that would work. If You live far away or wait a while after that wash that would not be advised.
@@GarageGear I've tried this Nu Finish on my old lady. It just too easy to believe it works well. Your video is persuasive. Thank you. By the way, the BGM is also splendid.
Question. If this is also a polish. Is it cutting through the clear coat and will that be a problem over time? I am looking for a good wax product for my car.
This wax has a some very low amounts of polish in it. It’s filling the panel and making the panel level with synthetic wax. Giving that amazing shine. The low amounts of polish Aren’t enough to harm your clear coat. Nothing to worry about with this wax. Thanks for watching.
Bro i have a quick question i have to park outdoors because i live in a complex So if i use this why do other people say its hard to take off? And also i can go through car washes for 6 months without waxing? Does this keep dust off of the car too? And how good of a job will it do with protecting the black paint of my car?
Benjamin Macalma II hey bud! Hopefully I can answer all these questions for you! If you apply this wax with a thin coat(because that’s all you’ll need) it will come off easy. Others are probably putting too much on making it hard to remove. I wax my vehicle once a season. So yes with this wax you could go through the car wash for 6 months. It will last about that long. As far as dust goes, maybe initially but you could get dust or pollen or just about anything on your car. Washing it regularly with keep that off. Black, silver, white, orange doesn’t matter. This wax protects all the same. If you regularly wax your vehicle your paint will hold up much better than if you didn’t! Thanks for watching!
Garage Gear thank you so much for the quick response Im kind of new to all this polishing washing detailing stuff there are numerous products out there that I dont even know what to use. I honestly dont have all the time in the world to baby my car to the point where I need to constantly wax or polish etc... so do you thing this is best for me? Since i dont have a garage to always detail my car. Your response was really helpful by the way
Benjamin Macalma II no problem at all bud! Yes I think this is a great wax given your situation. It holds up well, shine ups nice and is easy to remove. There is another good synthetic was (2 really) by mequiars. Their synthetic liquid wax and nxt 2.0 wax are also good long lasting options. Reviews on those will be coming soon! Also, a big reason why I call it realistic detailing is because we don’t always have a lot of time to spend detailing our rides! I know my wife would go nuts if spent hours and hours waxing my truck! One coat is all you need if you do it a few times a year.
Garage Gear lol i know right same here thanks alot for your help alright ill definitely view that review once you post it thanks alot stay safe out there. Looki ng forward to more content
Hello everyone! I'm trying to better understand how to properly care for my paint. Up to this point, I've been using only Nu Finish exactly twice a year via a microfiber applicator pad. Nothing else. I've spent hours watching auto detailing channels like Chemical Guys and Auto Fetish Detail recently. From what I've come to learn, Nu Finish is technically a polish, so as he says in the video, it's slowly taking away the clear coat because of the abrasives in the ingredients. With that being said, should I follow up with using a carnuba wax afterwards to give the clear coat an added layer of protection? Thank you so much for any insight.
Doesn't make me to over excited, when people use a new vehicle to try selling a product that is supposed to show what it does to an old vehicle with fading shine. I myself do believe in this product, because I bought a bottle of it and put it on my 1999 ford 150 four wheel drive. The truck was really oxidized and faded. Now it is a very shiny vehicle.
I prefer the pad to be dry it makes it easier than damp pad bacuese once you apply a damp pad with the product it makes the product harder to remove because it dried to a haze while is wet, I did the way he did with a damp cloth It was more harder and time consuming all though I still had a damp cloth just to remove the product on some áreas that had vinyl
1 quick question...... can this nufinish wax be able to remove some blemishes / swirl marks and some spots like tree saps a and / or brownish tar spots on the lower parts of the body??? Please reply
Good question! Swirl marks and some small blemishes yes! What I found that removes tree sap is rain-x. Some thing in it takes it really quick. Just use a little dap on a cloth and it usually comes right off. Tar spots I usually use tar remover. They sell it at just about any auto store or wal mart in a spray bottle. Hope this helps! Thanks for checking out my channel!
@@GarageGear thx for ur reply...today i took the car to some local car detailer and after looking at the brown spots on the car, they suggest to do clay bar first and then use mothers nufinish polish....they refused by saying these brown spots will not be removed just by polishing....it needs clay bar first....please suggest...thx
@@vijaychauhan9613 clay bars should work too! I’ve even seen wd40 work in some cases. It can depend on how much tar there may be. Let me know how it works out for you.
I wax all my new vehicles as soon as I get then pretty much! The paint is bonded to the vehicle long before you get it so you should be ready to go with a wax right away. Thanks for checking out my channel!
Honestly I think it’s marketing Mumbo jumbo. Hard to say exactly why. I would love to speak with a company rep and find out but I think it’s because they have stuck with the same name and slogan for decades. Thanks for watching ASUS!
i used this on my windsheild..didnt do my best job this crap is still on the rubber trim..it becomes very powdery once it dries and hard to just wipe off..so dont use too much

@@ousamaabdu794 I actually take my truck to a local auto body shop that does oil undercoating. They lift the truck up and spray all metal parts down with a thick oil protective gel that really lasts a long time. It goes on super thick. It takes them about an hour and it costs about $75. Well worth it. It would cost me more than that to do it myself with a dozen cans of fluid film and tarps all over the place. I used to do it myself but it wasn’t worth the mess or the 3-5 hours of time. I’ll pay $75 all day for it. I’ll be doing some rust proofing videos later in the summer. Stay tuned for those. If you have anymore questions let me know! Thanks for being a fan of the channel!
toneman335 I have heard this but unsure if it’s fact or fiction. I shot this video a few months ago and can say that after yesterday’s rain storm that water is still bearing on my Tacoma. Thanks for watching!
This is not a wax it’s a polish. You shouldn’t polish your car all the time. Use this once then use an actual wax or ceramic coating. Polish removes clear coat brah
