I'm a retired firefighter and we've been using NuFinish for over 40 years. Red fire trucks & ambulances look new when we trade them in. We did each truck 2 or 3 times a year. Thin coat hand rubbed in then hand buffed when dry. Used on my personal vehicles as well. Great stuff.

I would still recommend using a clay bar first to remove contaminants because, if you don't, you'll just be scratching up the clear coat as you apply the polish. Clay bar is easy. You just wash your car and then fill a bucket with soapy water and run the clay bar over the clear coat with the soapy water as a lubricant. When the clay bar starts to get dirty, you just fold the dirty part into the bar and use the exposed clean part of the bar to continue. Dry the car and then apply the polish as is shown here unless you can access a D/A machine. If you can, you then cut the clear coat with a compound and then a polish and then the Nu Finish or wax. I know it sounds like a lot of work but, it can be done in a day and the look will last a lot longer than a year.

I use this stuff as a glass cleaner. I drive trucks. I first scrub the bugs off, then do a simple windex and wipe to clean. But you always get streaks, always. My final step is to put a little of this on a blue shop towel, wipe on a thin layer inside and out then a clean paper towel to wipe it off. Very easy and it comes out crystal clear, it removes all streaks left behind by the windex or other glass cleaners. Also use it on all my mirrors so they are crystal clear.

I've using this product on my cars and boats for a really long time and I totally agree that it's an excellent product! Easy to apply and very long lasting! I run a charter boat service in Maine and put about 5,000 miles a summer on my boat during a 5 month season and this product still protects at the end of the season. Another use is on car windshields. I recently watch a RU-vid video by Scotty Kilmer in which he said that NuFinish applied to the windshield keeps wiper blades from dragging and making noise. I tried it the next day and SOB it works! My relatively new wiper blades had been driving me nuts and two weeks after applying NuFinish to the windshield I can still run the wipers on a dry windshield with no noise at all!

It is great stuff. I have a 25 year old car that sits outside in Adelaide South Australia. Not usually any freezing but 45 deg C days in summer. It cops a lot of sun and sits at work getting a lot of dust from a steel recyclers next door. NuFinish lasts about 3 to 6 months before I need to do a top up polish. Paint still looks new as it doesn't grind off the clear coat like some more abrasive ones do. and unlike earwax of unicorns expensive polishes, it is budget friendly. I does smell but a small price to pay for such a great result. I have switched over to a Turtle Wax liquid polish which is comparable and a damn sight easier to apply only requiring a wipe with a damp microfibre cloth. But it is dearer. Still a good product the old Nu Finish! Probably the only negative is the white staining of rubber and plastics. t can be cleaned off but the new liquid stuff doesn't need that step so more time to do things I want to do.

I had a Mazda Miata that I lovingly clayed and polished with the Zaino product line. Very expensive. Later used Nufinish and layed down 5 coats over a 2 week period. My neighbors tree broke a limb and fell across the hood of my car, leaving a nasty mark. It actually just buffed right out. Nufinish is a strong coat of protection.

Nu Finish does not have abrasives. Since its silicone based its purpose is to coat the applied surface. Buffing or rubbing here refers to not to apply downward force while applying and wiping it off. Don't press down. What ever you use to apply you're using to spread it across the surface same when wiping it off you're just absorbing any left over polish that didn't adhere to the surface.

I bought a black 02’ Bonneville from my uncle. He had a front end bra on it. I wanted it off. Upon removing it I found the paint was damaged from water being trapped under the bra. The paint had a cloudy cast all though out. I bought Nufinish and when to work. It did an amazing job getting the damaged clear coat back to a like new finish.

I've been using NuFinish for 30-years. It hasn't changed a bit - thank-God! I've used many other premium brands. They are great for a monthly wax, but they don't last like NuFinish. I don't know what they put in it, but it shines for 5-years before re-application. Totally amazing product.

A boat is in the direct sun at a marina all Spring, Summer, & Fall here. In addition when you use the boat almost everything gets wet from time to time. I experimented all season with every wax, polish & combo product I could find. Nu Finnish lasted much longer than 15 other products. It wasn't the brightest shine, but I could of made it much shinier by using a clay bar first & then a high speed buffer. Then with sprayed on distilled water & a microfiber towel to finnish & of course always with an up & down motion. Best,

My dad started using that years ago. I ended up doing my car in his driveway. I was sold on it. The stuff really works on older oxidized paint, thats where it REALLY shines. You do not have to keep reapplying because it actually seals the paint and slows down further oxidation of the paint. DO NOT get it on plastics. Its a bugger to get off.

I used to use this stuff years ago (remember the old commercial where they put it on a junkyard car?) until I found products that don't stain rubber and trim. I just don't have the time anymore to worry about getting some on trim and then spending time trying to remove it. If you really want a hard as hell topping I'd recommend Colonite 845 as it doesn't stain plastic or rubber as bad.

Its absolutely great for those paint mars you get in parking lots, fills up key scratches, and I use it on my work truck...yep once a year. Lol. Does it last that long? Not really but its a work truck. I do not use it on my personell vehicle or cycle. It would not hurt it at all but I just enjoy other products more.

If you read the label you'll find that just about EVERY polish contains some abrasives in it. That's a part of how it works. Beyond that there's light and heavy rubbing compound. And of course there's the clay bar. Wash the car well regularly, put a coat of wax (polish) on it several times a year. Done. 👍🏻

Interesting. I’ve been using way too much product. That’s good to know. I learned the hard way to keep it off the black plastic (and rubber parts). It’s impossible to get it off. So prevention (stay away or tape them off) is key and I use “Back to Black” exclusively on those.

When I was a teenager we owned a black ‘59 Cadillac, which I hand waxed every chance I got. It had acrylic lacquer and no clear coat. Rain Dance, which is still around, did a marvelous job of removing oxidized paint and saturating the color, making it appear far darker than Kit, which I tried once. It beaded water exceptionally well and was long lasting. I suspect it contained more silicone than other waxes. From a neighbor who uses NuFinish, it appears to be long lasting. His ‘05 Tacoma, which he parks outside, looks fine. I think he said he waxes it only twice a year.
