The containment unit in the red shed is, from what I can tell, on a 4 hour cooldown. And if you walk to the right side of it, you don't have to crouch down to secure it. Hope this helps someone out there.
There is an island all the way at the bottom right of the map that you can swim to, get as close as can to the border so you can cast your line into the waters of the old map. With minced bait I used, you'll be getting nonstop eels, was getting nonstop lvl 3s and 4s and some 5s.
@@WombatGaming wish I could link the exact spot I use because some ppl I told went to the island but not the exact spot and ended up getting nothing until I corrected their spot, but if youve tried more than 5-10 times and no Eel then you're not at the right spot but just hug the border and you should find it, so yeah head to the island and hug the border on bottom left and youll find the spot eventually. Also you have to put up with the NPC saying please stop nonstop lol.

Was mainly watching for the securement deviants, but it was awkward to keep up considering they were all at different stages of the vid. On the northeast side of that mountain there's another fox spawn. It's where there's a horizontal rock cropping. Not up the hill where the border is, but close.
For taming in Way of Winter, you can still use Spectral Canned Mushroom to instantly knock out wild animals... but that requires you to have gotten the recipe on Manibus/ transfer in. It works on anything that can be tamed.
