I am renowned for buying extra fabric and supplies just in case! LOL

I get a half yard more than I think I need. If I see some beautiful fabric I pick it up even without a project in mind. 🙂

I always buy a little bit more, and if there’s a bit left it goes to my fabric scrap mountains until it’s enough for a quilt 😊

I'm an over buyer. I just love fabric so I eventually make something else with leftovers.

I get most of my fabric from thrift stores and yard sales. I will also use bedsheets, curtains, blankets, etc for fabric. I see something pretty for pennies a yard, I will buy it. I now have enough fabric to keep me in projects for years. My biggest problem is my ADD and lack of organization of my stash. But I am working on it.

I purchase more than needed

I’m the same as you. Either too much or not enough. I think save that little for a pouch, then I don’t have a contrasting fabric. I can’t seem to throw anything away .

I buy extra fabric but taking into consideration the project and the type of fabric I will use. The maximum extra fabric that I buy overall is one yard. Also, I buy one more yd if I am extremely over the moon at how pretty the fabric is for my project. In that case, I want to have a leftover big enough to make something matching or a small unrelated 1 yd project. Now, I always buy an extra half a yard if the project involves FLANNEL. My goodness that fabric is always a candidate for "better be safe than sorry". It can shrink badly during the pre-wash and drying and how much shrinking can be unpredictable. Still, I mostly buy what the pattern calls for and make it work. The considerations described has kept my stash from growing uncontrollably over the years. Hope this helps anybody else who is trying to save themselves from "fabric armageddon" 😁🤣😂

I buy extra because I'm a fabricaholic, my kids will tell you so.

I'm a buy more and be ahead even though I may not need it...I usually use the extra for something else.

Over buy! My mom would over buy and I'm not sure why. I now do the same and really am not sure why. 🤷
