The rare footage of The Man himself. Check out those fancy Hillbillies who arrive with Mercedes benz :D

You're right. The music is once again controlled by executives, not by the artists. Waylon was responsible for improving the quality and realness of the music. I don't listen to country anymore because they've shifted away from what he did.

This show was recorded just after I first met Waylon & Jessi (Dec. 1979). Brings back a lot of good memories. I also had the pleasure of meeting James Garner at one of Waylon's shows soon after this one.

Hard to believe he's only 43 here, so young. What a fucking legend.

Incredible when I drive by the old Mr Luckys on Grand Ave here in Phoenix and think he played there one day. Its closed now and only memories of fun weekends. Just like Waylon...

Just drove and stopped by Mr Lucky’s recently. Just tried to capture that old vibe. Greatest talent there ever was.

The year I was born. What an amazing performance by the king of country, and James Garner in the audience, the world is just not as cool as it was back then.
