1987-1992 was some great years for the rise of Country music. I hate to say it but Garth Brooks opened the doors for a lot of artist who are still relevant today in Country Music !
I love Waylon but Waylons no 1 records were only in the country charts not the billboard charts like the 2 you mentioned. The difference is a couple of million sales at least between a country no 1 and billboard no.1 Gary Brooks is by far the biggest selling country artist of all time and even he didn't have billboard chart toppers albums but not singles. Conway Twitty had about 20 number ones so has George Strait but all country charts. I'm the biggest country fan you'll meet but I'm just speaking the truth.
