These are such unique style voices together Waylon @ Jessie. I LOVE them BOTH. RIP Waylon. Jessie enjoy your new marriage. GODBLESS you always. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love this version of Shake Russell's song. Several other people have recorded his work as well. I got to catch Shake in concert again about a year before the pandemic. He's still as good as he was back in the 80's-90's.
So beautiful, so in love :-) We played this song while the candles were being lighted at my daughters wedding. I can't explain how breathtaking it was to see 2 young people so in love, the sun beaming through the stained glass windows of the church while Waylon's captivatingly beautiful voice echoed through the rafters. What a blessing.
Sounds so very romantic for such a lovely wedding, especially your daughters. I pray that the wedding was a wonderful, beautiful day that you shall never forget about. Regards Elizabeth in Scotland. But lrish through @ through @ so very proud of my roots in lreland. 💕💕💕💞💞💞💞💞💛💞💞💞💞💞💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Waylon would tell you that he was the lucky one... especially since it was her years of prayers that brought him to JESUS in the repentance we all need in order to enter eternal life....right before he passed.
This is beautiful thanks to Struggle and Jelly I found these 2 I was never into country music but this changes my mind. Such a beautiful song, lyrics!!
John and June always get credit for being a great love story ( and they surely are) but these two sometimes get forgotten. Waylon is one artist that when I think of him I cannot help but think of Jessi. I shudder to think what would have happened if she passed before him, that man loved her like nothing I have ever seen.
I've been watching alot of videos of Waylon Jennings since watching The Tales from The Tour Bus story on him and I've been hooked. Jessi is the reason Waylon lived passed th 70s and early 80s. She was an angel to him.
It's called "Waylon, An Autobiography". Waylon wrote it with Lenny Kaye. It's really a great book. If you like Waylon and Jessi, you will love this book.
I forgot that it was on You Tube - I have listened to parts of that. I own the actual book, too. Waylon is such a down to earth, humble man. His love for Jessi practically leaps off of every page. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Magnificent. Thanks so much for posting this video clip.Even though the video they made is terrific and one of my favorites, it is great to see Jessi and Waylon perform the song live. They really made this song their own because when you hear the songwriter, Shake Russell, sing the song, it is beautiful but very different from Jessi and Waylon's interpretation of it. I think Jessi and Waylon owned it as if the lyrics were written especially for them.
he knew the music and changed the feel of what was on offer back in the 60's love this, his last concert DVD is unreal and the back up band is fantastic once again:) if you don't have it thoroughly recommend - got mine from good old ebay
Ditto on the Shake Russell comment, he is still writing to this day and he has not stopped hitting the road, he is quite the Texas Treasure and I am sorry you all can't come sit down in his audience and listen to him and his songs that are wonderfully written with a story behind them. Just recently Miranda Lambert has taken a shine to an old Shake song and done it on an album, it is "You wouldn't know me" she did a nice job of it and another person you might know that sang a song from Shake is Ricky Skagg's version of "You've got a lover" and then there is of course Shake's old opening act from the 80's Clint Black, he sang at least ONE Shake song on his first few CDs. SO, THANK YOU SHAKE RUSSELL for some great lyric and song.
Anyone know who that pedal steel player is? Obviously the same one as the studio recording, he nails is spot on here. One of my favorite pedal solos ever.
Brett Nuelsen Hey , this is Robbie Turner. He plays also pedal with country supergroup the Highwaymen (Willie, Waylon, John CASH, and Kris Kristofferson). A great talent. /CD
