This was a nice watch, cheers mate, very insightful on Rooneys philosophy. I’m an Argyle fan, an was unsure on Rooneys appointment, but after a transfer window he might do well for us. Got to keep the faith. Hopefully we will stay up. Coyg.
If he can get the right players in and the current players to buy into his style then I think you’ll be okay. He is a decent manager, always enjoyed the football even if it was heart in mouth stuff at times. I think he benefited a lot from Rosenior being his number 2 here and I hope he’s got the right staff around him with you.
Maybe a decent coach but LR was the brains behind the brawn. Unfortunate with the 21 point deduction but maybe his spell at Birmingham has cost him his reputation more so than with us. Read many blue nose comments and the majority blame their owners for employing him in the first place and their downfall to league 1. Maybe with the funds that Lampard got things could have been different. Will be interesting to see how he gets on at Plymouth, must have been promised a large transfer budget or doubt he would have taken the job in the first place. Does not need the cash.If he is going to carry on living in his Cheshire mansion hope he has got his own helicopter or pilot's licence, hell of a journey down there, at least 5 hours on the train. Hopefully he can prove himself, unfortunately as seen many times great players do not always make great managers!
Yeah I agree Rosenior had a lot to do with Rooneys spell with us. He was unfortunate at Birmingham, was set on a failing path from day one in my opining. Will be interesting to see how he does at Plymouth, especially given the fact their best player looks to be heading to Portugal.
I hated Rooney As Derby manager. As we know Mel Morris nearly destroyed our club and Rooney was part of that with his extortionate wages! He did no better than any other manager would have done, also Rosenior has done good things at other clubs so he was probably the brains of the pair!
