I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die? Why do they come to me to die?"
I was watching an interview with Ed O'Neill and he briefly talked about Wayne's World. Basically said, he never really watched it and wasn't very proud of it--thought he could have made it funnier. He really needs to watch his clips because they are quite possibly my favorite parts of the two movies.
I used to have Glens entire monologue memorized and walked around reciting it to people when I felt the timing was right. . . why do they come to me to die? why do they come to me to die?
It would have been better if his name was AL in the movie. But the Chicago connection between the movie and Married W/Children was enough to draw people
Glenn is my spirit animal. I feel his angst within my bones, my soul even! Disgust for humanity yet still maintaining a grace through a sense of humor.
This man. This great man. Also a humble man. He once played the great man, Al Bundy. The greatest man in American TV and film of the era. BTW. In this scene I laughed until I was a drooling wreck of demented hilarity. ... If you watch any of his interviews, you'll notice he's very critical of himself or at least, pretty humble about himself as an actor, which I admire about Ed O'Neil. However, I would appreciate the opportunity to let him know the quality of his work and how his portrayal of the characters and dialogue he has been given during his career has brought me not only the basic joy of genuine (sometimes tears in my eyes, abs hurting) laughter, but how it is his portrayal of the darker aspects of the human condition we all possess that we can laugh about only thanks to the synergy of great writers, directors and actors. If anyone else was cast in the role of Al Bundy or Glen, they would not have been such classic moments in film and TV history. I imagine he would have felt type-cast after Married with Children. And that in cameo roles like this, he would have wanted to give as much as he could. However, the fact is he gave exactly what was perfect for that particular character who only had a few lines in the two films. For Glen to stand out this much as a character... Well, Ed should be proud. I'm proud of him. He's a legend to me. And he's not at all "Hollywood" when you see him interviewed. He's just an actor who wants to ply his craft and do it to his standards of perfection. That's what's cool about Ed O'Neil. He's a really cool guy. "Today.... Is Al Bun-Day". I'm not worthy!
Brace Yourself leave him alone, he's reminiscing, alot can happen in a few months... a man could have his still beating heart ripped out his chest and throat slit in a matter of seconds......
I had never done a crazy thing in my life before that night, why is it if a man kills another man in battle its heroic yet if he kills another man in the heat of passion it's called murder.
