All 53 deaths in Shadowgate (NES) that I could find. Though there are two others rumored to be in the game, I couldn't get them to work so it may be other versions that have them.
Missed deaths: -Use the torch on the iced lake after you have taken the orb out of the lake. -In the 2 bridge room, move into the abyss (uses different text to the standard falls) -(unsure) move into the river in the waterfall room
@dD ShockTrooper: 1] In the room with the lake and shark, using a torch on the frozen lake - after you've taken the blue orb - only results in the message, "The lake has become a solid sheet of ice." You cannot die this way. 2] In the room with the abyss and two bridges, moving into the abyss results in the same exact death message found in this video at 9:12. The uploader did not miss it. 3] In the room with the waterfall and river, attempting to move into the river results in the standard message, "You can't do that!!" You cannot die this way. @Steven Coy Jackson: In the room with the fire-breathing dragon and miscellaneous treasure/items, moving towards the dragon while already wearing the cloak results in adding the unique message, "The cloak can't stand up to the dragon's fire." This is indeed a unique line, though death is the same. After that unique message, it still will say the same exact death message found in this video at 5:05.
There's another way you can die in the well. If you use the rope while the bucket is still lowered, you'll fall to your death. It's the same death as jumping in, just with a slightly different message.
There's another death message you can get when the troll kills you with the spear. If you try to just run past him, it says, "The troll blows up like a volcano and throws his spear at your chest!" The rest of it is the same as trying to attack him with the sword.
why is comments like this similar on all videoes that has got to do with " deaths" in video games. this scared me as a child i always covered my eyes when i saw this and that bla bla bla when i was a kid etc? no you were not scared... stop lying
@@gregoryblasengame8740 why? I am not understanding how this cpuld be " scary" . Noone i k ow held their eyes! Noone cared, but instead, we were more like: wow.. awesome.
I remember sitting and watching my mom and sisters playing this game when i was little. I enjoyed it, but the death message and images creeped me out lol
Back when I was a kid playing this, some things about this game really freaked me out. Now, dying in this game feels rather good actually, due to the death messages.
I love this game so much. A few of these deaths are so ridiculous it's hilarious: _Your torch goes out with a fizzle. With out-stretched arms, you move slowly, looking for a light. Suddenly, you trip over something!! Smash!! You fall face first to the floor!! It's a sad thing your adventures have ended here!!_ _You jump down the hole and, after a couple of moments, hit the floor!! It seems that you have broken both of your legs!! It's only a matter of time before you die!! It's a sad thing your adventures have ended here!!_ _You punch yourself in the nose repeatedly causing massive blood flow and internal bleeding of the brain. Suddenly, you feel faint and lose consciousness, and find yourself tasting ground. There are no paramedics on standby to save you!! It's a sad thing your adventures have ended here!!_ By the way, I made that last one up 🤣🤣
due to a bug, using a torch on its corpse causes the game to forget that it's dead - I've never tested other items so I don't know if the torch is unique in this regard
Those two deaths aren't really possible to get, the only death that they cut out was the Goblin Room (which got cut because that room only served to get you killed)
I don't get it....... In the 3 mirror room (with the portal to outer space), you break it with the hammer, don't get hit with glass, but get sucked through. The left one you hit, and you die getting hit with shards of glass. But the middle one just reveals a door, and you take no damage. Also there's many of the same type deaths shown, jumping out a window. Same text for all of them.
Earlier in the game, you find a protective gauntlet so you can grab a flute from the top of the fountain. Once you have it on, you can also drink the water.
You jump down the hole and after that a couple of moments hit the floor it seems that you have broken both of you're legs its only a matter of time before you die Me: im dying XD
Not a glitch, just bad writing. If you examine the werewolf after you hit it with the silver arrow, it does say the werewolf is dead in a rather comedic way. The devs evidently forgot this.
Using the green vase on yourself (it just grows blue hair on your palms) and trying to take the flute without the gauntlet (it just says you were hurt and the water isn't for drinking even after trying 10 times).
The sphinx doesn't think you're trying to attack it, just presenting the wrong answer to the riddle, so it teleports you out like any other wrong answer would.
