Oh hell yes. Love these dudes. I don't even play RS3 but these guys have wandered across my algorithm over the years and have loved watching them get into OSRS.
I'm a little bias, but clue scrolls in RuneScape 3 are legit some of the best content for both casual and elite players. It's one of the only pieces of content in RS3 that surpasses OSRS imo.
Haven’t really watched/listened to yiur series much recently( nothing against you ) but you have always had enjoyable content. Best rs3 clue guy for sure. ….. you and all those Orlando Hats…..
Sick cast, loved this one. Been following the two for years on RS3. So glad the full circle moment happen, all talking about OSRS and RS3, and not looking back, enjoying osrs to the fullest
Love the idea of a hardcore server, i've played a lot of poe in the past where they have a very similar system. Your account gets ported to the main server after you die keeping all the gear you have. The hardcore economy is always so different which gives such a unique experience. would love, love, LOVE this!
One of the big things you missed about perfect kill mechanics means you don't permit player freedom & choice. You can't use vengeance for any perfect kill like you could at Zulrah or Sire which reduces freedom. It also prevents people from doing more efficient gp/hr without uniques because you can't tank certain things to speed up the fight. It may be better if there was a higher mistake threshold or it was more speed based (this is already a thing honestly) but I've always felt like it feels more punishing for mistakes here without taking dmg into account.
One factor on dupe protection that we didn't realize until my clan bingo got planned, we put in tiles for an entire sunfire set and a full moons set. The advantage / disadvantage your team has where some people have dupe protection and some don't made those tasks really annoying to do. I think the resistance to dupe protection is more valid than just "we hate change".
I would personally like to see the RS3 mining and smithing rework into OSRS. Vice versa, I agree with Wazzy about combat achievements from OSRS into RS3
im about half way through this cast, and to be honest i think you need to start talking to average players, because alot of your takes are all so end game. like beyond end game. it is so beyond nice having dropable clues where i am doing my task and i get a clue. go bank drop the clue and back to slaying. like that qol is so nice
I went from osrs to RS3 about 2 weeks before the hero pass came out and too be honest that thing was the main reason I stayed, the thing was great for me at the time because it forced me to train, explore
The requirements for bossing in rs3 is way the hell higher than OS and there are more drops as well. That said, levels take way longer in OS. -An OS convert
Great cast. I think the dry protection would be a great addition. Would take some work to implement properly but certainly doable. I think having some formula to scale a groups dryness would be cool as well. For example a duo raid with someone very dry and the other player not dry would balance out and any drop they receive would reduce their “personal dryness” by an appropriate amount. Other thing I think would be cool with loot is some kind of “critical loot” where you randomly get double or triple rolls on regular table just for a bit more dopamine
For the hardcore-main-mode worlds I wouldn’t be interested in it personally if the exp rates were 1x. I already have a main ironman that I’ve put a ton of time into, and I’m not interested in playing a 2nd account if the progress is just about as slow and also gets erased on death. The worlds would not need to have crazy exp multipliers like in Leagues or DMM, but I think that meeting somewhere in the middle would be healthy for the survival of these servers. What I think they should do if this gamemode ever was a thing is have the exp ramp up with your total level, and have the different exp milestones you reach carry over upon death. You begin with 2x exp, at 1k total you unlock 3x exp, and at 2k total you unlock the final milestone of 4x exp. I think this would be a fun mechanic to have (especially for rebuilding after death), and for me personally it is the only way I would see myself being interested in the hardcore servers. Honestly even 2x drop rates for major pvm items being unlock the first time you hit 2k total would be a nice touch too imo. (This would mean absolutely no transferring hardcore account to the main game servers before or after death)
surely you get a cold one on again after fortis colosseum, solo tob changes, him having been in dmm allstars with the worst gear team in finals and gdq, right?
I just started watching wazzy and I love his streams but hate how he talks about bad luck mitigation and bossing with anyone on an iron man all of the time
i dont know, archaeology sounds too strong, mitigating some high level rewards like bones being noted and run energy not being a problem at all, if they nerfed it, it would be a great afk skill, but osrs got too much of afking already
also your complaining about the zuk helm, okay then just make it a broken zuk helm then and you can still wear it. but just like to get your max cape back you have to do the content if you want the perks.
Love your podcasts. But if u don't like to farm some bloodshards, then use a torture. I feel like everytime u don't like a grind u think it should be changed. U chose the iron life, then play like it.
I dont want MTX but the whole keepsake key override cosmetic system RS3 has is really cool and I would love to see it in OSRS, the sweaty nerds will still wear blorva and zuk helm but instead of everyone else being in bandos armour with a nezy theyd be able to wear their fashionscape while pvming the one thing I dont like about perilous moons or colosseums dupe protection is the set order the items appear in, this only really affects mains I think as irons have to get the full set anyway.. but it may be nice to get X item instead of Y first on an iron, if it makes the further grind easier... but the main drawback I see is it creating a weird rarity on certain item pieces as they dont come in to the game until a lot long after the first pieces, it seems to be weapon helm body legs and all the 4 item sets from varlamore have more expensive leg pieces because less of them have come in to the game compared to the other pieces
