They need to take their time. Give us quidditch, wizard chess, actual consequences for wandering at night, house points, classes that matter. Sooo much more than I just mentioned too. This comes from someone who loves hogwarts legacy.
Now, the classes in Legacy did matter, to be fair. During every class, you unlock a new tool. And Wizard Chess is just normal chess, with the pieces talking back to you. If you are going to do minigames, I'd include stuff like exploding snap and gobstones.
@@Gingerbred_Hed I mentioned this in my own original post, but I think that might be going too far. As I'm hoping that next time, we are a first year, going much more small scale. With a much more personal story and less 'save the world'.
I've said it multple times before, I feel like the first game was their testing grounds and lots of cut systems were found in the game files. Can't wait to see what they cook up
My biggest wish is more immersion within Hogwarts! Take me to classes, let me chill with friends in the common room while it’s storming outside; just deeper relationships and immersive elements in general would be perfect for me!
Honestly if they took the bully route like rockstar did, id be happy. Obviously a more modern formula of that. Take some notes from red dead 2’s world and immersion building with npc interactions and behaviors, you have a VERY solid foundation.
I’m just hoping that they don’t make it a live service game. WB needs to learn from their recent mistakes and look at how well Hogwarts Legacy did as a single-player RPG
@J-146 honestly I think setting would be ideal for a live service model, constantly evolving, raid multiplayer bosses, expansive house customization in room of requirements that can be unlocked or purchased irl. Then a sandbox open world akin to GTA online, although I wouldn't trust WB not to mess it up
@@liamdawes3408 People need to realise that you need to build a proper game around live service mechanics for it to work. And aside from a few standouts (Hoyoverse etc.) that RARELY happens and looking at Suicide Squad, Warner would absolutely drive this into the mud.
@FabioGrenkh that's exactly it, when they're done right they're brilliant and long lasting experiences but there's far to many cash grabs on the market
@@liamdawes3408 strong disagree. Live service games are shallow compared to single player rpgs. Everything from gameplay to progression will be stretched thin and turned into a grind with the main focus being to siphon as much money from the players' wallet as possible. That's the sole purpose of live service games. Monetization.
Yes! Give them time! Don't complain if there are delays either. It just means the developer/publisher actually cares about the quality instead of just throwing out a broken game.
I'd love to see Hogwarts actually feel more like a school. Having to attend classes (Think Bully: Scholarship Edition), truancy, curfew, and actually progressing through the years. It would be interesting to start as a 1st year and actually see your character's appearance change as the story progresses and your character goes from 1st year to 5th year and so on.
This makes me very excited. I think they made an excellent base for a sequel and with a couple of adjustments the biggest to me being having players choices matter it could be even more amazing
I hope they let us build our own gang, like the classic trio we all know, and form bonds over adventures, to sit at the table and talk, to interact more with the world and feel part of it. I certainly will wait, if they have the same passion as with HL then it will be an awesome game, for certain. 😄
I love the ideas of chess quidditch in the game, house points. I also want to be able to cast spells while on the broom or animals. I think more classes and getting deeper into the timeline we are in as far as the books. I like that they are saying a couple years as that means they aren't going to rush just to put out a game.
I just hope the reactions from teachers and students is a lot more realistic. The fact that you can just cast Avada Kedavra everywhere and there is barely any sort of reaction unless you hit a teacher with it totally bummed me out.
A few things I hope they add/change in the game. Enemies While the enemies themselves are pretty neat, there actually isnt too much of a difference between most of them. For example, Cave Trolls, River Trolls, and Forest Trolls are basically the same with maybe different health pools. Enemy witches and wizards, which should honestly be some of the most dangerous enemies you face, have a very limited attack pattern and probably only know one or two spells, none of them have basic cast which is arguably why Cross Wands could be difficult, since the students you fought had more spells and all cast basic attacks. In addition, none of the boss enemies actually did anything truly different, they all had the same attack patterns as their henchmen counterparts. Fantastic Beasts Outside of saving, utilizing their ingredients, and breeding them as a source of income, there really isnt much use for fantastic beasts. I believe that forming special bonds with this creatures should allow you to use them in combat or give you special bonuses as a companion. Morality & Choices This is a pretty large aspect, but definitely something on everyone's wishlist. Adding choices and consequences will defintely add an aspect of replicability Student or Teacher or Auror While I appreciated going to Hogwarts as a student, I personally didnt really feel like one, I feel like we didnt really attend classes much after they were first introduced, and because we were going on so many adventures, I felt more like an assistant to Prof Fig. Classes need to be more dynamic if we are returning as a student and there needs to be consequences for venturing too far from school grounds. However a more controversial option would be to return to Hogwarts as a professor, doing so will definitely change up the dynamics and add something new to the story and justify our freedom to roam wherever we wish. Similarly, we could be an Auror sent to Hogwarts to act as security for the school, Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and the Forbbiden Forest would be more of a base of operations while we complete missions in the countryside.
It will definitely carry on from where we finished the 5th year in the great hall, so we can continue our 4 created our characters doesn’t make sense yet to create a game sequel separate from this game.
Really hope they build in full VR support, including haptic feedback for VR gloves, from day 1, even if VR is not necessary for everyone to play it. It would also be amazing to see co-op support so that upto say 4 friends could play together, with the game difficulty scaling to the number of players so it didn't become too easy.
I'm glad you told to be patient for the next one. Unfortunately a lot of people don't get how hard it is to make a video game. Hopefully they'll be able to deliver an even more magical experience in the next one
Why don't they give us an expansion for Hogwarts Legacy? There's so much more they could have done with that game. It makes me wary of a sequel if they can't even give us a HL expansion.
Considering how pitiful the so called summer "update" was, lots of people have reason to be wary. Some cosmetics, talent respec, an exclusive quest that shouldn't have been 1 to begin with & photo mode all of which should have been there from the start. The game needs a serious upgrade. They really couldn't add in such low hanging fruit/ basic RPG elements or even spells that aren't castable by us like Reducto/ Expulso, fire column etc after 1 year & a half? Absolutely pitiful. I'll be waiting even after the release of HL2 to see if its actually worth it & to see if the game has been massively improved.
Hopefully they spend more time putting in what we were missing in the first one and everybody wanted Like: Quidditch, Housepoints , regular visitable classes , Curfew with actual sneak mechanics, Moral alignment(with story/quests), more interactions with other students. Also a little less obvious pandering, a bit more sublte and less forced. Also about visiting classes, for PC owners who dont know yet, There is a nice Class system mod for HL on nexus right now, its not Perfect and has a few bugs that need to be ironed out, but it help immersion alot.
My WISHLIST for Hogwarts Legacy 2 : We need classes to matter. Just attending to unlock a spell is not enough. There should be a challenge for every spell and a grading system for how well that class challenge was completed. If out of 5 stars you only got 3, then your spell won't be as powerful. We need curfew to matter and prefects patrolling the hallways, as well as ghosts - imagine Peeves working like Mr. X from Resident Evil 2. We also need an honor system in and out of school. If you're going down a villain path, shop owners might not even want to trade with you sometimes, and if they do, they charge a lot more for items and give a lot less when buying. Professors might look down on you and even punish you in different ways if word comes to Hogwarts about your extracurricular activities. You should be able to unlock friends (and enemies) by going on the right path or dark path and these friends should come with unique side quests, apart from main ones. Also, the house you choose should come with at least 20 % different quests than any of the other 3, to increase replay value. I personally want more character customization, something like inZOI has for faces and bodies. We should get Qudditch practice sessions. No official school championship. Why ? Because we should absolutely get the TriWizard Tournament as a main aspect of the story, and that tournament should be held at another wizarding school, my choice would be Beauxbatons school. Of course, you would be able to go back to Hogwarts when the TriWizard story arc is complete and when the story is over you could go back to Beauxbatons to further explore the area. Probably the area surrounding the french school should be just as large as the one surrounding Hogwarts. It is a game that comes out in 2027 at the earliest and 2030 at the latest, after all.
Hopefully the sequel has better writing, no co-op, no multi-player, no loot boxes and no microtransactions. Above all I want better writing and companions. Harry didn’t run around the world alone for 7 books
Hopefully it has better writing, co op, multiplayer, no loot boxes, micro transactions, pr season pass systems. Harry didn't run around the world alone for seven books skipping classes, so let's have that spirit of team work and learning represented in the next game.
More realism! Dynamic weather, the ability to use unforgivevables in towns, and other things to make the world more responsive. Also, it would be nice to see the stories for the companion characters continue. I have some ideas for that too. Poppy: 1. Her parents come around to lead the poachers. She and the protagonist must find a way to get them out for good. 2. Considering that she loves animals, maybe missions to catch or find rare animals with her. Sebastian: 1. His redemption Arc. He wants to make amends with his sister. I don't know how that would work as a plot line, so who knows. 2. He continues going to school and must keep his crime a secret. Story could end either with him going to jail, or being just fine. 3. Having been disowned by Anne, his descent continues and he eventually becomes a villain to the story. Natsai: 1. She could continue her interests in espionage and spy on more bad characters. 2. A return to Uganda in an attempt to remove the criminal gangs from her country. How about some new companions as well?
What I missed in Hogwarts Legacy 1 was exploring the castle and finding hidden secrets everywhere. I remember the og games where you were wandering around in the castle and there were hidden paths and hidden Chocolate Frog Cards. Also, in the og games you had to do a challange for every spell you learned that was pretty cool too.
Ah! :) So excited!!! Can't wait to get more concrete information on when it will be released. But like you said, they need time to "cook" and not rush. We want it ALL!! 💛🖤
This is amazing news! Even though we knew it was going to happen, it just solidifies it even more and I'm so excited! My prediction is that the Director's Cut will be announced or released in late 2025, and the production of HL2 will happen in 2026.
I hope the storyline is more lengthy than hogwarts legacy 1 has. And has a better introduction for the main character (for example, why did the main character in the first game not get into hogwarts in the first place? Was the parents killed, arrested or gone missing). Are we going to have to prove their death was a murder, arrest was wrongly convicted, or go searching for the parents?
I'm just going to copy/paste a post I did on reddit last year: This is a list of all the things I wish was included in Hogwarts Legacy and by extension what I would love to be included in Hogwarts Legacy 2: - More ingredients for more potions to make, both combat and non-combat orientated. Yes this is 2 items in one, as they both add to the experience. The first potion harry makes is the Cure for Boils, which requires Snake Fangs, Horned Slugs and Porcupine Quills (none of which are in game). - More creatures to battle/capture. We have such a vast countryside to explore and only 13 species? Ridikulus. Give me some Redcaps, Kelpies, Imps or Gnomes. Add some variety. - More Spells. Healing spells: Ferula, Episkey, Vulnera Sanentur. Combat spells: Confundo, Tarantallegra, Levicorpus, Repello Inimicum, Everte Statum, Rictusempra etc. Non-combat spells! Geminio, Sonorus, Imprevius, Scourgify etc. - Add some proper transfiguration, even if it's non-combat let me go around turning teacups into gerbils because I can. But I should be able to turn rocks into mini-golems to attack my enemies! - Newgame+ abilities. Timeskip to change time of day / seasons. Photo mode. - Some sort of friend/companion system so I can at least run around Hogwarts grounds with other people that follow and interact with me. - Apparition. Getting to the more un-realistic side of things: - New Locations: Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts Express (Platform 9 3/4 by extension), Diagon/Nocturn Alley (Leaky Cauldron by extension). My all-time wants: - Couch Co-op! - WifeWantsAWizard to make more videos, I don't care what about, just make them! That is all.
We are happy with graphics part the gameplay need improvements, What extra they can add 1. most important hogwarts legacy online where open world lobby like gta online 2. people can party together to clear missions, do race again each other with brooms or beasts. 3. people can trade items or spells. (rare spells, brooms, beasts etc. ) 4. flying cars can be introduced so multiple players can sit together in online lobby 5. house base events in online lobby and rewards 6. some other magical items to fight like magic swords, guns etc 7. wizard chess 8. classes base mission and rewards
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REPORTING THIS! This was definitely the good news I needed to hear today! I’m so excited but I also want them to take as much time as they need to get this done perfectly!!!
I’m excited for it as Hogwarts Legacy is my favorite game, but that comment of “It’ll be a priority in a couple of years down the road” pretty much tells me that whatever they’re working on now has nothing to do with HL 2, and they likely won’t even think about it let alone design anything for it for a few years at least. It’ll probably be a whole different decade before we possibly get an HL 2. 2034 maybe, another 10 years from now if they start within the next year or two possibly.
All I want is for them to really put out another great game. Take all the time you need. I just really am dreaming that its made on unreal engine 5. That is probably my biggest wish.
That sounds wonderful!! They can continue building on from Hogwarts Legacy, putting in more time for more interactions, multiplayer (meeting fellow witches and wizards), wizarding chess, quidditch, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts Locomotief train ride. House points and consequences etc. Add things we hadn't in the base game!!
i picked the game up recently the deluxe edition and my guy its fantastic there sooo much detail put into the world like from small little encounters to just locations its jam packed and i just love how no matter where i go there still small details i can see and im super excited for a sequel or prequel
It’d be a big ask but I wish it leaned more in the life sim territory. I kind of want a hunger/sleep/hygiene/social etc. bar system so the character has reason to go into the common rooms to chill or to sleep or to bathe. And of course, an actual structured schedule. I wouldn’t mind if they replaced the amount of quests & Merlin trials with more class time or homework time/broom practice or even actual meals in the great hall. I just want to live like a hogwarts student, still keeping a linear-ish plot going but I want the main focus to be life at hogwarts. Things like cosying up in the common room, studying, drinking a cup of tea by the fireplace… or stargazing… just something that feels like you’re in the world just living out your magical youth. That’s all I wish for. And yeah, house points, morality system, proper quidditch too
Im a fan of video essays. like if you broke down how a game had a rough launch into it becoming a success or how certain game studios found their footing, I would tune in for sure
I expect HG Legacy 2 to be released at the end of 2026 or beginning of 2027...basically they just have to write a new story and add other things to the open world and enlarge it a bit...and all on the unreal engine 5 of course ...the castle is already there as it is and you don't have to change much...and in the next part I hope that Quidditch will be there this time and even a visit to Diagon Alley would be great
Honestly, I wanted more relationship drama. And I don't mean romantic, I mean, I wish I could've, like, had a bunch of side quests with the characters. I wish there were heart meters or smth, again, not romantic, but like a best friend. Wish I could've hung out more with Poppy, Sebastion, Natty, and Ominis. I loved those characters and I would've loved hanging out with them more. Like, I was Slytherin and Ravenclaw, and I wanted to just chill with my housemates. I wanted to delve into Ominis' story in particular. Bro is blind, part of the original Slytherin family line, and is a parseltongue and I didn't even get to really get to know him. Like, what a waste. I just wish the relationships were deeper, I guess.
I know I'm in the minority, but I'd like a LIVE service where I could play with my son or others in this awesome world they've created. Some sort of multiplayer option would be nice, but I know that's not what the vocal crowd wants. I feel like they've given us the single player, now let's do the multiplayer thing. Make it like GTA where there is a single player base game and then an online service baked in as well for those that want to dive into that content. Just my thoughts.
My ideal Wishlist for the next HL game is either a story on the first wizarding war having James potter as the protagonist or follow the Harry Potter books and make a true to story game. I’d also love it if Hogwarts had an update like adding lots of secret passages and general immersion.
If they make it half like bully ill be happy. Classes that you can got to, Staying out at night could get you in trouble, A point system for houses. Let me have connections with students not just names npcs that don't really matter. Give me the option to befriend students as i see fit cause I kinda hated the very limited choices of friends. Keep houses separate like why was my hufflepuff friends with a slytherin, no idea.
I'm good with it being a few years to get the sequel, but I really want a new game plus for Legacy. Maybe the new game plus will allow us to change houses as we start a new game.
James!!! Thanks for sharing this update with us. It's such great news to hear! I'm pretty stoked to see whats coming to us in the coming years. (I just happened to be wearing the same Hufflepuff shirt to work today. 😆)
My wish for Hogwart's Legacy 2 would be to. . . scale it down a bit. Not the game, but the overall tone. Have us be a first year instead of starting at 5'th year. Have us play a child. Have smaller but a more personal adventure. Make it more slice of lifey instead of 'save the wizarding world'. Have plots that deal friendship, bullying, and overcoming house prejudices. The main difficulty with such an idea would be the gameplay, as its hard to justify a first year really 'dueling'. But lets be real, a 5th year fighting dark wizards every time he/she steps out of the castle was already unrealistic. Just throw in some pixies and other minor dark creatures. Have us 'fight' Peaves or something. You can make it work.
@@daonlyboriqua11 I'm just saying the formula they used in Legacy woudn't work for first years. I can't see a first year bombarding a troll with spells until it goes down. Even for a fifth year, what you pull of in Legacy is farfetched, but you had that 'chosen one who could use 'anceant magic' going for you. You were essentially a 'super wizard'. I don't think they should do that twice.
I loved the school grounds of hogwarts legacy. I've been playing games since the start of 3d gaming and I think it's one of my favorite spaces realized in 3d in a game. So so so much fun to explore, and rewarding to explore! BUT, within like 5 hours of gameplay, you get quests outside the school in the surrounding valley, and basically never go back to the school! SUCH A WASTE. Really hope they lean on their strengths in the next one. I don't care about skyrim-esque spider cave number #8 out in swamp #4. I want hogwarts to be even bigger, even more mysterious, more secrets, more house-specific secrets! Etc.
I just hope they can make it more immersive and detailed. Let me actually go to classes - not just do a quick spell! give me lore, let my choices matter - different endings depending on your choices, so that its actually FUN to replay the game again. Quidditch and whatnot! oh!!! and Diagon Alley! or perhaps other famous wizarding places!
I am MORE than happy to wait for a quality top-notch sequel that builds on the solid foundation of HL and addresses some of its shortcomings and delivers another character driven story. I am here for it.
I say let them cook! They dropped a gem and everyone wants more but you have to think of how games are made and the decision making and more to understand why they didn’t drop DLC for this game. They had been developing this game for years before we finally got this masterpiece of a game. Let them cook yall. Let them cook.
Yay! I'm still playing it each night. It's a beautiful game, even after I finished the game, it's fun just to be in that world. Glad to hear this news. Really hope the quality of the new HL2 game either remains the same as HL or is higher. Why? Because this game is not just a game to finish and end, but a world for Harry Potter fans to exist far, far after the game itself is done. Good news indeed!
I want classes. If you don't go to classes then you don't learn the best spells and if you don't form the right relationships through classes then you don't learn all the spells that are, "Beyond one's years" so to say.
I'd wouldn't mind if we did get a live service HP game. It'd most likely be the only live service game to keep me interested just based purely on the source material alone.
This time I want the chamber of secrets to have a place in the story I think Ominis Gaunt was meant to be the original heir and his family blinded him on purpose at birth so he would be immune to the basilisk gaze all his family would have to do is cast the Imperius Curse on him our mission could be fallow him down to the chamber and stop him from waking it up
Only problem is if they used same character named 5th year in upcoming game They may delete his progress or something like hit stone and forgot all he learnt like crucio or adava kadvara or other usfull magics If that happens it's horrible Or maybe they'll go for new story with new character where the professor is called 5thyear because he got no name before 😂
WB did say in a shareholder meeting that the next Legacy game would be live service, which I think has the potential to be really cool if they do it right, more like what Destiny but more geared towards a casual gamer. The way I see it live service allows them to release new content a few times a year, like 2-3 big drops, “exchange programs” to new schools eventually, there’s a lot of possibilities this would allow
No more live service games! Enough! If a game is not Call of Duty, Pal World, Fortnite, NBA 2k, Grand Theft Auto Online or Helldivers then it should not be live service. It’s an over saturated market that is lately awful! Enough is enough with live service.
@@Mr.PR2000 Agreed most live service games turn out to be massive flops who's sole purpose is to fleece the customer base while delivering very little in return. Those who do succeed its hard to tell if they'll even make it half a year. Live service is nothing more than a way for shareholders & investors to stick their beaks where there not wanted there only concern is ruthless profiteering & obsessing over statistics. They don't care about anything other than numbers & will never learn from their mistakes because it's not them that suffers..its everyone below them & that is a sacrifice their absolutely willing to make again & again.
@@BLUEnOVA360JR Yup couldn’t have said it any better. For a live service to succeed is supposed be reeling in customers to buy and stay playing nothing but their game. That’s the point of live service. And in order to do that they need to constantly drop good content. Suicide Squad failed horribly and spent like 9 years to develop on a over saturated market. There’s only so many live service games that can succeed in the market.
@Mr.PR2000 cheers, I've seen so many people saying HL2 should be live service...wonder if those are bot accounts trying to influence comment sections, I honestly wouldn't be surprised.
Good-as long as it is a direct sequel. I want more SCHEDULED classes like Persona 5. I want consequences to our actions. I want romance options. And for you nay sayers, the teen romance genre is nothing new. Rowling wrote teen romance in her freaking books. Let me have it in Legacy. And no multiplayer. Single player only. Multiplayer live service might ruin the experience for me, personally, because live service hasn’t had a very good track record, especially when it comes to money grubbing microtransactions. DO NOT WANT. 🚫
I rate games quite different to most, if I give a game a 5/10 it’s not a bad rating it’s average (per 5 being half of 10) Saying this, as a game I give hogwarts legacy a 5/10 as a game, but as a massive Harry Potter fan it gets a 7/10. They really could improve hogwarts legacy with so much. Actual classes (daily/ bully style) an actual curfew (again, bully style) Plus, have consequences to being bad and using unforgivable curses… They really need to understand that its players want to experience being a student at hogwarts way more than most of what hogwarts legacy actually does. This is not meant as hate on the game, it will forever have that special place in my gaming heart, but I will not lie that I was disappointed with somethings.
I’m a big fan of the Wizarding world. Everything I’m hoping for is the ability to feel like a true student in the Wizarding World. I want to be able to wander around, have a great moral system, house points, classes… I WANT TO LEARN STUFF, OWL’s etc. I would do almost everything to get a real RPG game where I can play as the Hufflepuff I am!🥹What I mean is that I’m not feeling the need of many actions element/an action story. Combat and duelling is of course a part of the Wizarding World , but I don’t have the need of it being the main focus.
The devs need to make story dlc for Hogwarts legacy 2 and add both Diagon Alley and Nocturne Alley since they failed to do so with the first game oh yeah and i want to be able to get the spell that Molly Weasley used to kill Bellatrix and learn exactly what that spell was and the devs should definitely add Quidditch this time instead of making an entirely separate game revolving around Quidditch
I want to know about the ACTUAL REASON THAT WERE HEAR AT HOGWARTS! And actually learn about Ancient Magic instead of just hearing about how someone else had it, abused, and I'm now forced to clean up there mess.
Needs multi-player, full quidditch, wizards chess, real classes and more in class stuff, mini games idc. Let me be in class and learn spells as a progression and have them be more powerful the more you study. Duels, companions( my own golden trio) better potion making, diagon alley, nocturn alley, house points that make sense and add to the game, give me a nemesis student like potter and malfoy, etc etc etc. The first game is amazing but has basically 0 replay value.
Hogwart's Legacy 2 for late 2026 i bet ! They already have everything with the engine, already have assets. Now they need to take their time with the scenario and the characters, to add some depth and some solidity. HL 1 was good but it could have been better with the characters' background/development and also a more solid story (my opinion of course) Let's hope for another banger !
The thing is, many features that people keep asking for would make for an incredibly boring game. Quidditch? Or is available separately, as it should, since not everyone enjoys sports games. Wizard chess? Give me a break. Lots of classes and a tedious schedule? It needs to be planned really really well or it's gonna kill the mood too.
I actually think.. if done right, hogwarts legacy would actually work as a live service. Of course greed would probably take over but let’s think about it for a second here. First the idea should be a 7 year story. Each major update would be a new year of the story. You don’t need to create a brand new game every time since it’s set in hogwarts. Assets can be reused In the time between story events, that’s when people like me, who wanted more of the “attending hogwarts” experience in the first game get to do that. Set it up so we can go to classes, improve our skills, they could even make it so you get to learn the spells necessary for the next part of the story. You could have things like quidditch, dueling club etc to play with your friends that would satisfy all the multiplayer people. Have various events and contests throughout the year I just actually believe it could really work if they just trusted in the consumer and we’re extremely transparent about everything
